Back on 2022, my car was vandalized. As a victim, I've never hear back from anyone, even though I called , left messages, and sent emails. The prosecutor went to a different area, and from the contacts provided that were handling the case, a request for status and restraining order was never acknowledge. As victim on case 22-ju-06267 and 22-ju-06254, I can attest that the Constitutional rights for Victims of Crime, was never followed.

This woman went along with everything children’s services said , thought , and did while representing me. She didn’t subpoena any of my witnesses, she left me with a halfway done visitation schedule with someone that stopped bring my child to see me and was ultimately removed from this persons house for abuse . And I asked for an appeal, she confirmed she filed for one and since it’s Covid the courts are running slow and look its2024 and I haven’t received anything yet… My son doesn’t know who I am , he’s traumatized, because I went to jail, the person didn’t come to court because they lied . The charges were dropped and children’s service’s charged me with neglect. This system is so broken . There should be a law against what she did to my son and I.

I think about this case a lot, and it is very upsetting. Jessica didn't follow through on things in making sure agreements were signed prior to a case being dismissed. Then when it came time to negotiate the custody part leverage was lost and I came out behind. It really affected my relationship with my son for a long time. Jessica wasn't really concerned with me as her client, and didn't do a very good job advocating. She ended up coming off as extremely passive. When we had to go back to court a year later Jessica was on maternity leave and it took a long time to get a response back. Overall, I wouldn't consider her competent or effective.

This time I'm hiring a REAL lawyer. He never asked me 1 question about my case. All he cared about was me pleading guilty. He was extremely rude for no reason even tho I was being cooperative. Like I said he works for the state of Ohio. Period. DO NOT HIRE THIS FRAUD!!!

Paul is not the kind of attorney he claims to be. He works for the other side at your expense. He is very judgemental. If he don't like you then you should worry. Because all he is doing is taking your money and laughing all the way to the bank. He does not defend you even if you have proof of being innocent. He is not good at communication but what he is good at is giving you dirty looks and belittling u in court. He is very good at taking your money and doing nothing to deserve it. I'd your trying to get your child back and out of children services. You would be better off doing it alone. I had him file motion for custody and he has delayed it every time we have gone to court. It has been almost a year and I still haven't got him back.

Once Ben Swift received the retainer in my child custody case, his concern waned. He was unresponsive to calls or emails from me and once missed a filing deadline. Needless to say, my child custody case had devastating results. I had to settle for an unfair decision. Once I took my business elsewhere, I had to spend thousands of dollars to undo the damage Ben's laziness and ignorance of the law cost myself and my daughter. Fortunately, a true professional was able to rectify this case. I would never recommend Ben's services (and I use the term loosely).

She’s biased towards men keeping their wealth … my spouse stole hundreds of thousands of dollars my first attorney lied to the judge and said she sent a document to get forensic and as soon as I called her out she withdrew and there’s zero accountability with this judge! I was the defendant and the rules only applied to me! And she signs off on these bottom feeding attorneys zero accountability ! Then she noted to my 3rd attorney how my x who quit his job 10 days before trial and gave me a lump sum of 20k for alimony after a 27 year marriage … what a joke and he took over 2 million and I got a whopping 57 k and I’ve been a stay home mom for 25 years I make very little and they bankrupted me! The entire case was orchestrated by my stepson attorney who told me exactly how it was going down so this is total corruption!!! She sided with him the entire case … as he pretends to be a victim when he was the abuser! He controlled me with money and she didn’t care! Gave me 7 credit card bills to pay and zero alimony … then made me list my home with a realtor as it was listed with a flat fee company so I lost my home too!!! She is a horrible judge and needs to go!!! Corruption at its finest !!! He even wrote the restraining order to his rules … it’s disgusting ! No justice and total biased! Get rid of her!!!

Jamie L Allen is absolute hack. It's sad that she is now a magistrate with no real field work to prove. What do they say? "Those who can't do, teach." She couldn't do, and then she spent all of her time before becoming a magistrate as an instructor at a community college. Now however, she spends time pulling children from good father's and giving them to abusive mothers. Proven abusive mothers, which is of course blatantly ignored by her. She is disrespectful and disgusting towards anyone in the courtroom she deems as someone who may have bullied her as a child, while she sits behind her desk sweating from obesity and harshly judging men. Jamie L Allen is everything that is wrong with the justice system, and three men alone in Delaware county are actively bringing her decisions and weak willed judgement before the supreme court. Can't wait to see her go down for what she is.

I would not recommend Jimmy Calhoun as a lawyer to anyone! He never responds to emails text, phone calls. He doesn’t even take the time to visit a client in jail who he is representing to talk about his case before a trial. Every time I tried to reach him he had an excuse. My husband and I hired Jimmy for my husbands custody case. Jimmy lied about filing time sensitive paperwork with the court multiple times which caused problems with our case and stretched it out considerably. He gave my husband bad legal advice multiple times, and incorrect information multiple times. He took almost $2,000 from us, filed one paper, showed up to one conference, and that’s it. He is impossible to get ahold of. We had to eventually call and schedule a meeting under a fake name just so we could fire him as a lawyer and get new representation. There’s a reason why he’s been at 3 or four different law firms in the past couple years. If I could do it again I’d hire literally anyone else.

This is my opinion and based on my 5 months of being a client. I really felt I was given what I wanted to hear from Steve when I questioned him about representing me as my new lawyer in my divorce case. He was responsive for the first two months via email and phone calls and even texts. Then everything changed and I don't know why. My calls and emails went unreturned for weeks and his admin would tell me she was working on getting a con call set up and then nothing. I would call back in a week and receive more excuses. The opposing counsel is difficult at best to deal with and in my opinion just pushed Steve around. I was forced to file an extension of my 2009 taxes because of lawyers from both sides. My case did not move along and we were not prepared to go to trial so I had to eventually find new counsel. In my opinion I would not recommend Steve for a divorce lawyer and would suggest you find a lawyer who specializes in Family Law

I hired Steve for OVI charges. His fee was 3500.00, but what I got for that I believe I could have done just as well arguing for myself. He was on time to the several court hearings, but that is about the only positive thing that I could say with my experience with the man. Each time we met at the court , he would go behind closed doors to talk to the prosecutor which is probably the norm. He didn't hardly explain anything to me afterwards about what went on or what was said. As I write this review, I'm still waiting for him to return two previous phone calls that I made to his office within the last week. He hasn't returned one of them. After the court sessions, he would just state let's go home and told me when we were suppose to meet again. In the end, I feel he didn't fight near hard enough for me. I think I was basically an easy payday for him. I don't feel he explain my situation well enough to the prosecutor or judge. In my opinion, Steven didn't me justice in the court room and it cost me a lot of money.

This woman threw my Husband's court case. She didn't try at all, she wasn't communicative, she wasn't reliable, she never allowed him to make his side of the case, she never sat down and actually spoke with him. I whole heartedly believe if she actually did her job that I would still have my family. Instead, I'm childless, husbandless, and homeless because she had one job and blew it entirely. I would never in my life recommend this lawyer to anyone who wants to win a case. There was no evidence against my husband other than hearsay and she never once fought that point. Hired for custody case. The judge literally had to pause the hearing because Mr. Kennedy was incorrect about the type of custody I currently had. Once the court case resumed, we again had to pause so I could personally work out a deal with opposing counsel for healthcare for our son. This is something I asks Mr. Kennedy for and was told “that will never happen.” Well it did that day through speaking across Mr. Kennedy and communicating with opposing counsel to obtain the desired outcome. As the case progressed, there was an area that Mr. Kennedy had stated we would object to and have dismissed immediately. The opposing counsel brought it up and continued talking as I sat there wanting to kick Mr. Kennedy under the table. FINALLY he objected. The judge simply said, “if you wanted to object, you should have stated it when she began and over ruled him.” It was horrible. After all of this I received the final bill. I was shocked to see it included all the times Mr. Kennedy called to ask the same questioned that were answered in his office. He just couldn’t remember. He also gave us paperwork to fill out for court and my husband realized it was another client’s paperwork and it was already filled out. At the end of the court case Mr. Kennedy stated he thought the case went well. I replied what about the part that you were supposed to object to? He brushed it off and said, “Well we will just go back to court to try to overturn the verdict.” Not what you want to hear after having to work out your own deals with opposing counsel and have your case stopped twice by the judge because your lawyer doesn’t have his crap together. I found him to be arrogant, argumentative and lacks the skills to litegait as a lawyer. should retire or be disbarred.

I was working and still never contacted me to see where I was or why I wasn’t there. Never touched base day before. My divorce dissolution is not depressed than but I was very depressed by this attorney. She is still my nightmare. I am wondering how could she graduated from law school. It is impossible. I never ever seen any attorney the same her. Lucky, She is working for Legal Aid. She does not care to learn or motivate on her career. Her law knowledge is zero. She make a big mess for writing degree with so many mistakes on language and even did wrong on calculation child support by formular basic which ruining my life. What a Juvenile Law Lawyer Can Do for You

A juvenile law lawyer specializes in legal issues involving minors, including those facing criminal charges, child welfare matters, or status offenses (like truancy or curfew violations). Juvenile law lawyers aim to protect the rights of minors and advocate for rehabilitation rather than punishment in criminal cases. They also help families navigate child custody, abuse, neglect cases, and other legal matters involving children.

If your child is facing criminal charges, or you are involved in a child welfare case, a juvenile law lawyer can help protect your child’s rights and work toward the most favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Juvenile Law Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a juvenile law lawyer in the following situations where minors are involved in legal matters:

  • Juvenile criminal charges: If your child is accused of a crime, such as theft, assault, or drug offenses, a juvenile lawyer can represent them in juvenile court, advocating for leniency and alternatives to detention.
  • Delinquency proceedings: A lawyer can help navigate delinquency charges, defending your child’s rights and seeking rehabilitative outcomes like counseling, probation, or diversion programs instead of incarceration.
  • Status offenses: If your child has committed a status offense, such as truancy, running away, or underage drinking, a lawyer can help you resolve these issues in juvenile court, often focusing on rehabilitation rather than punishment.
  • School disciplinary issues: If your child is facing school suspensions, expulsions, or other disciplinary actions, a lawyer can help protect their educational rights and challenge any unfair or unlawful school policies.
  • Child protective services (CPS) investigations: If your family is being investigated by CPS for alleged abuse, neglect, or dependency, a lawyer can represent you and protect your child’s rights throughout the investigation.
  • Custody disputes: A lawyer can help in cases involving child custody or guardianship disputes, ensuring the child’s best interests are prioritized and advocating for the child’s rights.
  • Emancipation: If your child seeks legal emancipation from their parents or guardians, a lawyer can assist in navigating the legal process and help the child understand their rights and responsibilities.

Hiring a lawyer early in the legal process ensures that your child’s rights are protected and that the best possible outcomes are pursued.

What Does a Juvenile Law Lawyer Do?

A juvenile law lawyer provides various services to help minors and their families navigate the legal system. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing minors in court: A lawyer will represent your child in juvenile court, advocating for their rights and seeking rehabilitative outcomes rather than punitive measures.
  • Filing motions and legal paperwork: The lawyer handles all necessary legal filings, including petitions, responses, and motions to dismiss charges or suppress evidence.
  • Negotiating with prosecutors: In some cases, a lawyer can negotiate plea deals or diversion programs that prevent the child from having a permanent criminal record or serving time in detention.
  • Advising on rehabilitation programs: Juvenile law lawyers often focus on alternatives to incarceration, such as counseling, community service, or probation, helping minors avoid long-term legal consequences.
  • Handling CPS and child welfare cases: If your family is involved in a CPS investigation or child welfare case, the lawyer can advocate for your child’s safety and well-being, ensuring that their rights are upheld.
  • Defending minors against school discipline: A lawyer can help challenge unfair or excessive disciplinary actions taken by schools, ensuring that your child’s educational rights are protected.
  • Advising families on legal options: A lawyer will explain the juvenile legal process to families, offering advice on the best legal strategies and what to expect during the case.

How Are Juvenile Law Lawyers Paid?

Juvenile law lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: Many juvenile law lawyers charge by the hour, with rates ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For simpler cases, such as status offenses or school disciplinary hearings, a lawyer may charge a flat fee that covers all legal services related to the case.
  • Retainer: In more complex cases, such as defending against serious criminal charges or handling a long-term CPS investigation, a lawyer may require a retainer, which is an upfront payment billed against as they work on the case.
  • Sliding scale or pro bono services: Some juvenile law lawyers offer sliding scale fees based on income or may provide pro bono (free) services for families who cannot afford to pay full legal fees, especially in cases involving child welfare or delinquency.

Discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to understand the total cost and payment options.

How Much Does a Juvenile Law Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a juvenile law lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer’s experience, and the time involved. General cost estimates include:
