I paid 750 for this attorney and she legit did nothing for me. I feel like she did no prep work. She told me my license was suspended a whole month and a half before it actually was. I had issues trying to get my driving privileges which she also messed up on. Tried getting ahold to help with it….. nothing. After my sentencing hearing she tells me to get ahold of her after 6 months to file something with the courts to try to get my license back. I’ve left voicemails called both numbers I have for her. Talked to her assistant left messages with her. I’ve emailed her multiple times. I even tried to tell her it was an emergency and crickets. Very unprofessional. Once she got her money she stopped responding to me. Wish I could report her to someone but I guess this review will have to do

Angelina is very professional when it comes to helping an explaining certain things dealing with a case . She isnt like most lawyers who want to empty your pocket an feed you a bunch of bs. The first time he missed court I chalked it up to a mistake. The second time he missed court, the judge was visibly upset and I knew I got a dud for a lawyer. After he missed court I waited for him to call me with a new court date (as the judge instructed me to do). One week went by before I called him...... and called him..... and emailed him....... Another whole week passed before he called me back. That's 2 total weeks (14 days) that it took for him to call me back. He did apologize, but for what I paid him......... not good enough.
I had an OVI (my first) which he was unable to get reduced to Reckless Op. I'm in the probation process right now and need a few things from the judge in order to carry a firearm (as needed for work). He, of course, has been MIA on this front. Just recently I asked him to call me back Monday EITHER WAY on this question. It's Wednesday....... and nothing.
This guy is either a really bad lawyer or is simply not interested in my case. Whatever the case, I paid him upfront. If he doesn't want to continue as my lawyer return my money (even half, or a quarter, I'm reasonable) and move on.
DO NOT USE BILL MCGINTY.
Side note: I attended an OVI hotel weekend (as a jail alternative). A guy I met there had Bill McGinty's law partner (either Hilow or Spellacy, forget which one) and he told me that his lawyer also missed 2 court dates. WOW.
You may want to avoid the entire law firm.

I was charged with probably the most serious misdemeanor one could get and due to the specific facts of the case, the cards were stacked firmly against me. I knew I needed an expert right away.
I called Mr. McGinty's office and was greeted by the firms friendly receptionist who then transfered me to William. He was very understanding and paid close attention to every little detail. He invited me to his office for a no-charge consultation (Which is almost unheard for an attorney of this skill level.) and immediately helped to put my mind at ease and explained the consequences of any possible convictions of Domestic Violence.
I retained him and he went to work right away, and after about 2 months of aggressive Pre-trial negotiation, he was able to convince the prosecutor to reduce the charge (She was originally planning to take me to trial and have me convicted on the very serious charge and did not want to budge.)
This attorney essentially saved my life.

My legal aid attorney told me that even though the park refused my rent which broke the court ordered injunction to move . She should have filed the park broke the law. If I could give negative 100 I would. Thanks to her I lost my home I owned.

I would NEVER recommend Katrina Kight! She was assigned to my son's case and just like Russell White post she NEVER talked to my husband or I yet she talked to the other grandparents. It was one sided just like the other post. She also wanted more money! She needs to be held accountable! Getting paid for not doing her job! Russell White please contact me!

Mike did an absolutely magic for me. He took care of everything in my court case and simply told me what to do and where to be. Not only did he get my case knocked all the way down to fines but, made me comfortable during the process. I didn't even believe him until the judge said fines and court costs, but he did it. The only thing I wish is that I would have used him for every case I have ever had.

Mr. Prephan treated every question I asked him about my case as an annoyance. When he had a pre-trial hearing with the prosecutor for my OVI case, he didn't even consider getting copies of the documents she discussed with him, like the results of my urine test. When the prosecutor tried to plea-bargain me into admitting I was guilty, instead of explaining how he would zealously defend me, he told me to accept it because I would lose in a trial. When I told the judge I wanted to get a new lawyer and needed the documents he had for my case, he didn't even bother giving them to me even after the judge told him to do so. In short, Mr. Prephan does not have your best interests at heart. He seems to think his job is explaining to his clients why they should accept being railroaded by a prosecutor rather than furthering their defense.
Update:
It's been about a year since this fiasco and I wanted to make it public that my case, which Mr.
Prephan thought was unwinnable, was won quite easily by the Wood County Public Defender, who got the charges dismissed after the first pretrial hearing he had with the prosecutor.

Decent guys on a personal level, but this Review is about the Professional Legal Services that I paid for.
Pros: Aggressive in the first two days.
Cons: Lacks communication, Lacks follow through, Lacks Aggressive Representation, Lacks Thorough Legal Counsel, Uses Deceptive Tactics Against Their Own Clients (as I was "ambushed" in their office with video that actually helped my case)...
I was not impressed with the representation that I received from this firm. Although the attorney stated to me at the end, "You should have never have been charged", he did little to nothing in showing that in the Courtroom, to the Prosecutor, or even to the Judge. The attorney spent more time trying to convince me to plead "Guilty" without being able to show me what law I broke. As one attorney expressed to me that the Judge pointed out "Show me the Crime", and no one was able to.
In one breath the attorney stated "The Judge asked what Defense Strategy I planned on using, and when I told her, she shook her head No"... Two weeks later, I inquired about the Defense Strategy, and the attorney stated "The Judge has not rendered a decision on that."... There were several instances like this, but it is always excused away by "That must have been an misunderstanding or miscommunication."
In the Motion To Suppress Hearing, the attorney was told by the Judge, "The statute you used to justify the Request To Suppress actually supports your Motion to be Denied.". The attorney had no idea what he was doing.
I sent repeated emails, texts, and left messages. However, my correspondence was rarely returned, even though I paid the agreed retainer on time, in full, and was completed early. I received a return call after weeks of waiting. The call I received was from an attorney that wasn't involved in the case. The attorney apologized on behalf of the representing attorney for not receiving the "Aggressive" representation that I paid for.
It has been 120 days since the "Sentencing Hearing", and I still have not received the Judge's written details in the order she imposed. The "Sentencing" is 30 Days over, and still no communication from anyone in this firm.
Due to not getting the Order In Writing from the Judge, my career has been destroyed, my livelihood taken from me, and no word from anyone at this firm.
If you want to get "Hosed" in Court; hire this firm.

Beth Mertz has to be one of the worst people I have ever needed help from in my life, I am now being harassed by people in the community and I have all the information that I was screwed over by her, and the prosecutor did not give me all of my evidence. Beth did not do her job or she was working with the prosecutor, how did she not get the information from the officer that gave me the tickets that said in her own words that she never seen anything or left her office I knew I was screwed when she said "what was my defense?" I didn't think I had to do her job, my defense is her or that is what I assumed anyway. I also believe she was the one calling the news so I looked bad. Julie Steddom has been unavailable and his misvommunicated information. She was also very rude to my wife today and this was our first actual meeting for 6 months and she ran off and said to cal her office to make a private appointment. My wife did nothing wrong I’m not sure why Julie was interjecting and talking over top of us. She wouldn’t let either of us speak without interrupting us and then left before we even got to discuss a single subject. I would not recommend at all. Bad experience. Attorney Jim Harden lied to me multiple times. Said he would have a wresting coach at my trial to defend my case as self defense and ended up grabbing a cop from the same court house as my trial and Judge is being held. I think that’s a bit suspicious. He lied through his teeth from the moment he met me until the moment the trial was over. Offered me a price for the trial and then the day before told me that was the price for each day. The day before trial literally leaving me with no choice. This company is a scam and they work with the prosecutors bc he used to be a prosecutor himself. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! Especially “attorney” Jim Harden. He even saw me at the court house after my trial and told me he had talked the opposition after the case telling them that I would have apologized but it wasn’t the right time at court because we were trying to win. I do not like to disparage another person, but the management of my case was continually unprofessional. Simple things like failing to bring proof of my income to a temporary orders hearing—the most essential document— requesting multiple times the same document that I had previously sent and blaming me when the other party expressed frustration for her mishandling papers. She didn’t respond to emailed concerns. She scapegoated me to the other party as I saw in conversation threads and only skimmed my messages regularly as I could see by her response—one time acting very dramatic about the shock of something I mentioned in a previous email she replied casually to when later it was an issue for the other party. At 35 days to the trial, I confronted her on various concerns which I had previous brought up and that second opinions from other lawyers seperately identified where she was failing. She withdrew that day as counsel rather than demonstrating accountability and maturely responding to my concerns and I was left to myself at the trial. The outcome was dismal because of her unethical behavior and my family with many children is permanently harmed.

I used Duff back in 2006 for a divorce. The case lasted 2 years and cost me a fortune. She did not answer phone calls or emails. She does not have her clients best interest at heart. She is a scammer who makes deals with other attorneys depending on whose turn it is to win. I am still paying in some aspects of life due to her negligence.

I hired Trisha for my divorce. She did not return calls or emails usually for weeks. When I did sit down with her, she was brusk and did not take my concerns seriously. I felt like she was more interested in playing nice with the other attorney than advocating for what was most important for my child. In the end, I have an agreement that is so poorly written, that no one can figure out what should happen. Several lawyers have also told me how inappropriate the agreement Trisha pushed me into is for my situation.

I don’t know why the other reviews are saying what they are. It sounds like the people who she did not favor in a case are upset about her decisions. There are multiple reasons as to why a parent may not be the primary custodian and she investigated these reasons thoroughly.

This woman had a bias against me from day 1 based on a lie that my ex told her. My ex is not stupid and clearly looked Rosemarie up on Facebook to realize what is important to her. She then formulated a lie so that Rosemarie would be against me from day 1. She never looked back. She continuously treated me like the bad guy throughout the year we were forced to work with her as our ad litem. I never stood a chance at maintaining the 50/50 time I had for 7 years prior. She ignored proof of emotional, mental, and physical abuse that my ex had subjected my daughter to all because of a personal bias against me. Rosemarie was out to get me just as much as my ex. If you are given a list of ad litems to choose from, AVOID THIS WOMAN AT ALL COSTS!

I retained David Mcartor on a civil matter against my ex husband in November 2023. HORRIBLE attorney. Do not use if you’re a woman. Takes the man’s side. For the preliminary meeting he sent an assistant that wasn’t prepared. Embarrassed me and himself in his inability to answer the Magistrates questions. David would never return my phone calls or answer my emails. In addition any meetings with him he would degrade me. He asked if I needed a tissue when I entered the room . I asked him why would I need a tissue. He proceeded to say I was stupid.I feel he didn’t know how to proceed with my case. He discharged himself prior to the court date.

I had gotten Scott anointed to me from municpail court in Delaware county, and he was great. He gave me the best advice and gave me the best options on what to do with my case. As I wasn’t happy at first and completely ignored and treated him truly bad months later he got appointed to my same case and even though I treated him poorly he was very professional and took my case again as I apologized and he still fought and stood by what he said he would do and get the best deal for me for which he absolutely did 100% stuck to his word. I absolutely recommend Scott to any n everyone! Thanks!

I paid my retainer fee up front. He came off as very promising and after he got his money did virtually nothing!! I could have done a better job representing myself. He either didn't respond to emails and phone calls or took weeks to get back and still didn't answer questions. He did not even try to represent me in the court room. My suggestion is run far away from this guy and find a real lawyer!

We retained Ms. Clark for a custody matter and once we paid the $5000 retainer, which we never received a contract or receipt for, she almost completely quit answering messages or calls. Ms. Clark promised to immediately file custody papers, and both times she failed to do so as promised. Then, when the issue cam before the magistrate, James Palmquist instead of Ms. Clark appeared at the hearing. Mr. Palmquist, obviously unprepared, bullied our daughter into signing an agreement that even the magistrate seemed to question, and which has caused complete chaos. When we fired them, they refunded about $1800, but they kept over $3200, for which we have yet to receive an expense breakdown nearly 2 months later. We have retained new counsel who are now burdened with trying to undo the mess the Palmquist's firm has created. We intend to pursue this with the Ohio Bar Association and are considering other action.

Did not show up to my first court appearance and left me without Council. Then when I was trying to explain what happened he did not want to hear it. He told me he sent my paperwork in the mail that was never sent. Said he sent it to the wrong address. Then after I told him the address I still never received the court mail. For someone doing this job for nearly three decades I guess I just expected too much out of mr.dosoma. I understand most public defenders just want to get on to the next one, prosecution is worried about their conviction rate but I don't feel like he had my best interest at mind. If he did he wouldn't have lied to me. made the executive decision to take my case to trial blindly. I asked him to do three things and he did none of them.

Back on 2022, my car was vandalized. As a victim, I've never hear back from anyone, even though I called , left messages, and sent emails. The prosecutor went to a different area, and from the contacts provided that were handling the case, a request for status and restraining order was never acknowledge. Siewert was hired to handle my case in 2013. From the very beginning he was unresponsive. I had several concerns but I tried very hard to work with him and have faith in his abilities. If you are currently in this situation with him, please learn from me. It almost cost me my freedom. In the end (2015), I fired Siewert due to his inability to execute and create a cohesive, well thought-out defense. I have retained mike a total of 4 different occasions and everytime i would say he got me near to the best possible outcomes in each case. He conducts himself great in court ,highly respected inside the court rooms and known to get the desired results BUT.... I do have to say this , he will not return calls he will not tell you what he "thinks" will happen(so no reassurance of a good outcome) talk to his assistant more than you ever talk to him. So you never know what to expect or when to be prepared and/or to prepare your wife,family and friends.... But if you ask me he did right by me and he did right everytime i had court i just wanted to give a honest and detailed review for the next man/woman

Nancy, is by far the worst attorney you can possibly hire, she takes your money feeds you a line of Legal crap, and doesn’t not do her job. She is more focused on her political image rather then being true to the case at hand. She will not represent you fairly. She will ask you for documents and then exclaim she never got them. She plays ball with all the courts and doesn’t really care about you as a client. She will take your money and go on vacations to the Bahamas and then claim she needs more money for the work she hasn’t even started. I personally spent well over $10,000 with Nancy, that’s my fault, but I can describe to the fullest how horrible of an attorney she is, their isn’t even room to explain. Best advice is hire someone that isn’t playing ball with the courts, and gambling with your rights and money.

I used Marvin Fete for my divorce attorney. It sound great from the beginning with a payment. But like they say you get what you pay for. During the case very little back ground work or preparation for the up coming case. He sat there while you tried to explain what happened and still going on. Couldn't understand when you tried to explain specifics facts that were detrimental to the case. Had an intern which was studying to achieve their lawyer degree. And she did all the work and understood where the case needed to go. Which she quit after half way through my case because she was doing everything with no guidance or communication between her and Marvin. When we went to court he just sat there while the other lawyer tore the case apart and didn't say a word. He is very submissive in the court room. Never had a question for the ex while her lawyer grilled me every time I was in there. Several times in court I had to remind him on several questions or statements to bring to the judge's attention. After all was said in done he got me to sign an agreement which I got nothing but the bills and debt. Because he kept asking for more money and you get nothing In representation. Once the judge made her ruling, items were not completed that were in the court paper and were part of the deal I made at the beginning. Received paper from the court on contempt because he never finished following through. When I contacted him he wanted more money to finish what he was already paid to do. He was supposed to finish that after the case was over. So if you want a chance please find another lawyer ASAP!!!!

Had Mr Fete as a court appointed attorney a few years back for a domestic violence against my daughter's father. What started out as my trying to do a favor for the man ended in him drunk trying to sexually assault me, then me defending myself. Then surprisingly ME ending up charged. Mr Fete went about everything...interestingly and entertainingly, but efficiently and with a great outcome. Everything was dropped! I just recommended him to a friend of mine, subsequently how I found this page and seen there had been no reviews yet. So thanks Mr Fete!
