Of all the lawyers I’ve dealt with in my life Neil Flynn at Horn Wright, LLP is the only one who took the time to listen to everything I had to say and answer all my questions before even discussing how he would be paid. Once we laid the foundation for our attorney-client relationship, he gave me several options including a straight contingency fee, a retainer/hourly rate fee structure or a hybrid of the two. His bills were always reasonable and when I questioned something he made sure to discuss it with me in person until I was satisfied. Most importantly, he did a fantastic job representing me and my small business when we needed a civil litigation attorney. I would absolutely recommend Neil and his firm Horn Wright, LLP to my friends and family.

I had a very frustrating, and potentially negatively life altering, experience with Ms. Ressler earlier this year. The error on her part cost my family time, frustration, and stress to myself and my children.
I was advised to file a temporary order of protection which involved making claims against family members. Unbeknownst to me, Jessica Ressler has a general modus operandi of being an extremely aggressive attorney, regardless of the situation. Her tactics involve getting her clients temporary orders of protection, involving the police, and using false statements. For those who are not aware, these tactics often negatively impact children. She treats every case the same, and her reputation in the industry is well known as being overly aggressive to the point of being detrimental to her clients and their cases. Further, her strategy unnecessarily involves child protective services who are legally obligated to investigate each case, and each parent, regardless of the accusations made.
Without going into significant personal detail, the filings I made under Ms. Ressler's guidance landed me in the cross hairs of CPS for no apparent reason. The result could have led to a permanent record, termination from my job, and an inability to be involved in some children's activities. When I pointed this out to Ms. Ressler, I was met with vague explanations and no real accountability, nor help to assist me from a legal standpoint. While initially she was attentive to my questions, once this occurred, her communication stopped instead of following up on ways to assist me, as though she signed off from my case. Ultimately, the CPS case was resolved without issue based on evidence provided by my family.
It should be noted that Ms. Ressler was recently formally admonished in court for her tactics and procedures. As previously stated, her reputation amongst attorneys in the NYC metro area is well known, and not well regarded.
I would not trust this lawyer with anything important and would highly caution others to do their due diligence before hiring her. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for legal counsel.

I first contacted Afia via her IG page, answered few questions about NIW then suggested a consultation call which I did. I booked a call and sent my CV, she said that my chances are strong and recommended going for NIW.
Now, it is worth noting that I consulted three lawyers before, all said they would not take my case since I do not have journal articles published. Regardless of that, I chose to take Afia's recommendation hire Yunus law. At the end of the day impression is perception and after the consultation call and watching her IG reels, the impression I had she is professional, knows what she does, and honest, so that is why I still took her recommendation although three others said no strong chances.
Afia and her team are committed, work professionally , and most importantly diligent in following up regarding the documents needed for the process. Also they generously premium processed my petition before my payment (I do not think that happens in other places :)
Finally I got my I-140 approved and I can't wait to apply for the green card.

I read the past review about Jaime before calling him and knew immediately I'd like this guy and what do you know, 10 minutes into the call, he has me cackling on the phone. I've spoken to dozens of lawyers at this point about my landlord-tenant case, but I can say that out of all these people, Jaime truly cares for your wellbeing. Not only could he relate to the issues I've been dealing with, but he also shows compassion towards me, and is honest, transparent, and thoughtful in his responses. You'll find lawyers that want to take your money and rake up the charges, but I can tell he'd spend the diligent time fighting for my rights to ensure I can sleep soundly at night.

Jaime is a beast at this. I called this man with a situation that had me so mad i couldn't even explain to him correctly . I hung up because at this point i was so mad that im sure he could not understand me. He kindly called me back. I yelled at this man from the top of my lungs assuming he was going to treat me as other attorneys i tried calling prior to Jaime. Some even saying i dont understand you, you sound chinese. This man took his time to research and recommend me some actions i should take towards my situation. Somthing other attorneys could not provide me with. He did all this for free ! Jaime spent one hour and 12 minutes on the phone with me painting the reality of the legal system here in NY for a naïve dork who just moved here and was scammed. He was direct (one big reason I just moved back to the East Coast) and helped create a new angle that may help me with my challenge before I have to jump and swim in a whole heap of bureaucratic mess I would prefer not to play in. Long overdue review! Mehdi is truly an amazing lawyer who cares. I had a complicated family court case while simultaneously an ongoing criminal case with my abusive ex. I was in postpartum and it was the beginning of separation. I was very hyper vigilant and probably not the easiest to deal with, but Mehdi fully supported me through both cases. He took my life chaos with stride. He always fought hard for me in the court room. He even advocated for me to the ADA in the separate criminal case pushing the case further than it would have without him. I sometimes had to remember he was my lawyer and not my therapist! He gave me so much advice and honestly strength. Sharing a child with an abuser is no fun. We did get everything we asked for in Family Court which was such a relief.
