Rebekah, with her specialized and unique background in education and law, was able to help me successfully strengthen my child's Individualized Educational Plan. This change to his plan, which was a battle to get accomplished, has greatly helped my child feel more successful in school. Before Rebekah, my son's IEP was not adequately addressing his unique learning style and various educational challenges. My son was overwhelmed with the intense curriculum of school even though he had an IEP. Upon reviewing my son's plan, Rebekah immediately understood what accommodations were missing and why. She was able to work through the red tape of my son's school district to get my son's needs adequately identified and addressed therefore he was finally provided with the accommodations he needed. Throughout this whole process, I found Rebekah easy to work with, very knowledge, always accessible and very persistent and dedicated to my child's cause. I highly recommend Rebekah Hope! She is a very good lawyer and great child advocate.

I have used his office for several different issues and each time I had complete and total satisfaction with the service and expertise that has been shown to me and my family. He makes you feel at ease and is always willing to explain things in "plain English" I will continue to use his firm and recommend him to others as well.

I highly recommend The Law Firm of Charles Vega. Repeat customer. Mr Vega was very caring and thorough in handling my trust. He explained the step-by-step process to me and always returned my phone calls promptly. I also retained Gretchen for a family matter and Minerva for another matter. His staff there have always been attentive and professional in unusual, complicated situations.

I hired Beejal Thakore to handle an eviction case for me. I had to evict my tenant. Beejal was the best attorney for the case. Evictions are very costly and stressful. Beejal was not only professional and courteous, she made me feel so comfortable and relieved to know this was being handled swiftly and with the best results. I would highly recommend her to my family or friends with full knowledge of my experience, that they would be in good hands. She has a great understanding of the law, and I was misled on several issues before she took my case. I am very grateful that I found her. She also drew up my new lease agreement for my new tenant. I could not have resolved this issue on my own and feel she went above and beyond. I also felt like I was her only client, the attention was so personal, when I know I was not.

Shortly after purchasing my home I lost my job. I know, right? How miserable; I just sunk almost everything I had into my first home for me, my fiance, and our son (we now also have a daughter). Before things got ridiculously out of control, I called the bank and was put on a payment plan. However, their payment plan left much to be desired, and I was going to end up with a mortgage payment well over $2,000.00. So, I decided to get an attorney. George was great from the start. He was extremely affordable, and I had priced a dozen foreclosure attorneys. No phone call went unanswered or returned, and he reached out to me weekly to ensure I know where we were in the process. Since my loan was not yet a year old, modification was impossible. He helped me get on a forbearance plan, avoid foreclosure, and now, just today actually, I received my new mortgage payment. It's much more affordable, and I am finally happy that this nightmare is over. If you need an attorney to help you with ANYTHING, I would not hesitate to give George a call.

Mr. Dwyer and his staff are amazing. He is very knowledgable and very easy to speak with. He is respectable and is well respected by the courts, as well. I was always well informed and he and his staff were very thorough in preparation for hearing and preparing me as well. The only drawback is the retainer/fees are very high. If I could afford to continue to use him, I wouldn't hesitate. I highly recommend Mr. Dwyer-and the others in the firm.

There was no question that he could not answer and no option he overlooked in assuring my best interests were served. He also involved me in all decision, again insuring I had all the information necessary to make good decisions. Additionally, he was patient, friendly, kind and always of good humor. Knowledgeable, well respected, concise, understands options available and their probable outcomes. Will let you know immediately if she will be able to help you, and, if not, then who may. Personally, she never over charged me, and informed me when, where, and how much she would be able to help. I sincerely never met a more honest attorney.

It is stressful finding the precise attorney to rectify an unlawful/unethical housing conflict within a condominium association. With that said, I know, because I spoke with several attorneys, and when I found Richard Heiden my search ended. His professionalism and expertise are of excellent merit and ability. His knowledge of condominum law is beyond commendable. His strategy and tactics are ahead of opposing counsel at all times. He cares about your personal outcome, and is emotionally attached to your well-being throughout the relationship. His listening skills are superior, thus he provided insightful and steadfast results for my case.

Ed is a remarkable attorney. He has been my construction litigation attorney since 2002. He is very cordial and professional, but when he represents you, he can be a beast with your opponent. He builds the case from information he and his staff glean from you, they do the case law studies, and when he deposes and tries cases, he gets to the truth. I am proud to be associated with Ed and to have him on my side.

The best thing about Leslie is that not only is she great at what she does, she’s also a good person. She has gone to great lengths to helping us, even to the extent of personal sacrifice. Yes, there are attorneys who don’t fit the horror stories you hear , and Leslie Langbein is one of them. I thank God every day she is representing us! Since Day 1, I’ve known we were in the best hands. Leslie is a powerhouse attorney, just the kind of person you want on your side. Leslie had so much experience in the same type of battle we were involved in, and right from the outset she knew precisely what we were up against. Every meeting with her was like talking to a trusted friend, one who made it her personal mission to defending us. Since Day 1, I’ve known we were in the best hands. Leslie is a powerhouse attorney, just the kind of person we wanted on OUR side. I always felt a sence of peace after each meeting with her. Thank You.

I'm in NJ. I found Carey on the net based on his published experience. In short, NJ man loans PA people a lot of money...PA person moves to FL and avoids repayment. Mr. Fischer arranged for the monies to be repaid post haste! His style and experience were a wonderful find for me and he accomplished "the impossible" from non-responsive debtor. Great communication. A pleasure to speak with. His many years of experience speak for themselves.

What a Mediation Lawyer Can Do for You

A mediation lawyer specializes in resolving disputes outside of the courtroom through a process called mediation. Mediation involves a neutral third-party mediator who helps the disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement. Mediation lawyers can represent clients in various matters, including divorce, business disputes, employment conflicts, contract issues, personal injury claims, and more.

Unlike litigation, mediation is a less adversarial and more cost-effective way to settle disputes, often leading to faster resolutions and preserving relationships between the parties involved.

When Should I Hire a Mediation Lawyer?

Consider hiring a mediation lawyer when you’re involved in a dispute and want to avoid the time, expense, and stress of going to court. Common reasons to hire a mediation lawyer include:

  • Divorce or child custody disputes: A mediation lawyer can help you reach a fair settlement on issues like property division, alimony, and parenting arrangements without going to court.
  • Business or contract disputes: For disagreements such as contract disputes, partnership conflicts, or intellectual property issues, a mediation lawyer can assist in resolving the matter through negotiation.
  • Employment disputes: Issues like wrongful termination, discrimination, or wage disputes can be addressed through mediation to find common ground and avoid lawsuits.
  • Personal injury cases: Mediation can help both parties agree on compensation in cases like car accidents or slip-and-fall claims without a prolonged court battle.
  • Property disputes: Disputes over property ownership, landlord-tenant issues, or boundary disagreements can be settled more amicably through mediation.
  • Family or inheritance disputes: Mediation can help resolve conflicts over wills or trusts without further dividing the family.

What Does a Mediation Lawyer Do?

A mediation lawyer provides a range of services to help clients resolve disputes through negotiation and mutual agreement. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing your interests: Acting as your advocate during mediation to ensure your rights are protected and you understand your legal options.
  • Preparing for mediation: Reviewing the facts of the case, gathering necessary documents, and advising you on potential resolutions.
  • Facilitating communication: Helping to facilitate open and constructive dialogue between parties to clarify points of contention.
  • Negotiating settlements: Assisting in negotiating fair and balanced settlement terms that are in your best interest.
  • Drafting mediation agreements: Preparing the official mediation agreement that outlines the terms of the settlement, which is often legally binding.
  • Avoiding litigation: Aiming to reach a settlement that eliminates the need for a court trial, saving time and resources for both parties.
  • Handling complex legal issues: Explaining the legal implications of various settlement terms in cases with complicated legal matters.

How Are Mediation Lawyers Paid?

Mediation lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on experience and case complexity.
  • Flat fee: For simpler mediations, some lawyers may offer a flat fee covering all legal work involved in the process.
  • Retainer: In ongoing or complex cases, a retainer may be required as an upfront payment billed against as work progresses.

Discuss fees and payment structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the cost of mediation services.

How Much Does a Mediation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a mediation lawyer depends on several factors, including the case's complexity, the lawyer’s experience, and the time required to resolve the dispute. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Typically between $150 and $500 per hour.
  • Flat fees: For simple mediations, fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • Total mediation costs: Can vary widely, from $2,000 to $10,000 for straightforward cases, up to $10,000 to $50,000 or more for complex disputes.

Always request a detailed cost estimate during your consultation to understand total expenses.

Top Questions to Ask a Mediation Lawyer

Before hiring a mediation lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with mediation cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in handling similar disputes.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify the fee structure and request an estimate based on your specific case.
  3. What is the likelihood of resolving my case through mediation?
Seek an honest assessment of whether mediation is suitable for your situation.
  4. How long will the mediation process take?
Inquire about the expected timeline and number of sessions required.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
Confirm who will manage your mediation and represent your interests.
  6. Can we pursue alternative dispute resolution (ADR) if necessary?
Ask about other forms of ADR, such as arbitration, if mediation doesn't resolve the conflict.

How to Check the Credibility of a Mediation Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable mediation lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Verify their bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary history.
  • Look for mediation experience: Review their website or professional profile for specialization in mediation and successful case histories.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google for client feedback.
  • Ask for references: Request references from past clients familiar with their mediation skills.
  • Check for certifications: Look for certifications from organizations like the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Relevant documents: Any materials related to the dispute, such as contracts, emails, financial records, or court filings.
  • List of key issues: A detailed list of the main points of contention that need resolution.
  • Timeline of events: A chronological account of events leading up to the dispute, including prior resolution attempts.
  • Goals for the mediation: Be prepared to discuss your desired outcomes and areas where you're willing to compromise.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Any queries about the mediation process, fees, or their approach to dispute resolution.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide the best possible advice for resolving your dispute through mediation.
