I was hit by a truck while commuting on my bicycle and suffered very significant injuries. From the first consultation I felt in good hands and hiring him proved to be an excellent choice. I was injured in an accident on city property. My injuries required corrective surgery and extensive rehab. Liz was our constant support and advisor during our case against a hospital that did not provide standard of care for my husband resulting in a significantly shortened lifespan as well as a difficult one.
Liz was the one we first called or emailed with questions -- and we had lots! Never did she seem we were taking too much of her time, and she always provided her expert opinion and advice in an easy to understand, thoughtful and kind manner.
While our attorneys got to know a lot about our lives, they shared some about their own, so we enjoyed learning about Liz's children, one of whom she gave birth to during the process.
Through depositions and a mediation Liz informed us very well about the process so we weren't taken by surprise in any way. She and her colleagues (a senior attorney and paralegal) were excellent legal support. They guided us to a successful settlement while understanding that we'd trade the money for the injury to have never happened.
We struggled at first because we understood that accidents do happen, even in medicine. But Liz and her colleague made it clear that the number of errors that added up to our end result required both change and some recompense. Liz helped us share ways we believed could prevent such a future situation in a way that the hospital could hear and even implement, and the settlement money will assist us to bear more easily the stark changes in our lives we will endure during the near future.

In 2009, I went through a terrible divorce and my counselor at that time mentioned “the children are young enough you can leave now and they won’t remember you.” Had I met Nelson nd had him as my attorney from day one I am confident I would’ve been the sole custodian of the children. It is now 2019, my ex still thinks we are fighting a divorce, still refuses to properly cooperate with regards and respect to our now 11-year-old daughters. I trust Nelson, he’s easy to talk to and knows the letter of the law and most importantly he does not mince words. He will be my chosen attorney from here until he retires.

Mr. Berry is a complete professional, in every sense of the word. Compassionate, honest, prudent and versatile in matters of law. I am a single mom and very able, competent and successful. I am the founder of my own non-profit, although small in scale, that serve the needy with a determined and compassionate mission statement. I had a terrible last year with personal crisis and being harassed by Cps investigators twice. The first round I was completely oblivious to what their demands and ridiculous requirements were doing to the fiber of my family. I had no attorney at that time because I thought for sure I could not afford one. We want to share the good experience we had with Barden & Barden. We are an elderly couple who never had to deal with anything like this before. We felt overwhelmed by this event because it seemed so complicated. The collision caused by another driver moving at high speed and failing to yield, left us both quite seriously injured and hospitalized thousands of miles from home in a community we didn’t know. On top of that we had totaled the rental car we were driving. Shortly after the event, we contacted Barden & Barden in our home town. They did so much right away to put our minds at rest and assure us they would handle all the details of compensation for medical and rehabilitation expenses, automobile damage, and communications with the many entities involved, especially insurance companies. For example, right away they gathered complete information from the local sheriff attending the collision and the doctors caring for us. They obviously took care to see that insurance covered our bills as we never were billed ourselves. While they worked on our case, they kept us up to date on its progress. The firm’s attorneys and their assistants maintained a sympathetic and business-like attitude throughout the time they helped us. It was obvious in our dealings with them that they really knew what they were doing. At the end, they engineered a settlement that covered all our expenses as well as compensating us for what we had gone through.

I was hit by a car while out on delivery for a local company. I explained to Jed that I was a student and that I really didn't know how to put forward my claim or what was a reasonable price for my compensation.
Jed listened to my concerns and made good recommendations in terms of medical treatment, dealing with Labor and Industries, and the hospital regarding my billing. Additionally he helped me ask for the maximum settlement amount that was reasonable, and helped me negotiate with the insurance company which really tried to lowball then ignore my claim. Having an advocate to help you navigate the complexities of the insurance, labor and the legal obligations was so great. I would recommend him to any of my friends!

I was in a pretty bad car accident back in October of 2013. After consulting with Ashley Armstrong, I made the decision to hire her.
I had sustained a severe back injury from my accident, Ashely felt confident that she knew exactly how to handle the case, as I informed her I had previous accidents and other back issues in the past. It took just short of 4 years to get my case settled. I was not in the state for about 1 year of it, and she kept me informed along the whole way. Did I mention integrity? Mr. Shultz came recommended by an attorney in Spokane. When meeting with him, he explains the pros and cons of each option, with patience and clarity, often providing examples from his decades of experience. He is well connected in the legal and business communities. He follows up on his commitments EXACTLY as agreed upon. He usually takes calls out of the blue, and when he doesn't, he readily returns calls, generally that day. He has never talked down to my wife or I, and is a gentleman to the core. He is a extremely pleasant individual with a great sense of humor. After hiring him to resolve an issue with a deadbeat contractor, which he did, he has provided me advice on other legal concerns without asking for reimbursement. Overall, his time and cost charges are extremely fair and reasonable. We put 5K down as a retainer, and received a good portion back after the issue was resolved. He has in depth knowledge and experience in a wide swath of legal areas. In the legal field of the Tri City area, Mr. Schultz is a blinding white beacon among a plethora of dim lights. He is the ONLY lawyer I would recommend PERIOD.

When I first approached Mr. Gilbert to take my DUI case, he advised me that he typically doesn't do criminal law. However, upon my insistence he agreed to take my case. No only was I charged with a DUI, it had special circumstances that could have ended not so favorably for me. Mr. Gilbert not only did a full investigation, but also consulted with experts. Mr. Gilbert was able to reduce my DUI charge to a Negligence charge. Mr. Gilbert was professional, effective as well as making sure I knew how my decision to allegedly drink and drive could have had more dire consequences to not just me but to others. While driving southbound on I-5 in Tacoma an underinsured motorist sideswiped a dump-truck causing it to spin around and go north in the southbound lanes and hitting us head-on. We were crushed between the spinning dump truck, the car that caused the accident and the car that rear-ended us. We hired Schroeter Goldmark & Bender to represent us.
The insurance carrier for the underinsured motorist paid us the limits under their policy. Our own insurance company basically made an offer of zero to cover life-altering and permanent injuries.
Our team at SGB of Adam Berger, Sergio Garcidueñas-Sease, Lindsay Halm and Alder Burgess took over for us. One of the most important things they did was to shield us from the stone-walling, delaying tactics of our own insurance company to whom we had paid premiums for more than 30 years. From the beginning they handled the case as if it would end up in litigation. You need attorneys like SGB that have your back and are not afraid to go to court if that is what it takes.
They had the added challenge of doing this during Covid. Thank goodness for Zoom conferences. We ultimately got a court date. Two months prior to our court date, we went to mediation, via Zoom. We didn't hold out much hope for mediation, but we were willing to make an attempt. What a surprise when the insurance company came to mediation finally willing to negotiate. After a full day of the mediator going back and forth between Zoom rooms, we came to a fair monetary settlement. We are convinced that the insurance company, even then, was only willing to negotiate because, Adam and the rest of his team were well prepared bulldogs willing to go to court if mediation failed. As they like to say, "This was not their first rodeo".
A car accident is horrible. You need the best attorneys you can find to protect your interests. Besides being professional and knowing the case inside and out, Adam and the rest of his team are compassionate and truly care about their clients. We strongly recommend them to anyone who needs their service. Without Adam and SGB our insurance company would have paid us nothing.
