In 2018 I was in a horrible auto accident and barely made it out alive. My car was totaled and I required a lot of medical attention. I was in bad shape. I was referred to Hamed Yazdanpanah’s office and immediately was taken care of and seen by the best doctors. Hamed and his team made me feel like my case and health was top priority. Hamed always returned a phone call, always listened and most importantly was always honest. I 100% recommend him, you will be in good hands. I don't know where I would be without him, thank you!!!

"I'm a good lawyer, but I'm not a magician" was what i heard during my first conversation. I had a small accident, a small case but I got the big case treatment, which is what was nice. Overall, so long as you follow the advice and keep on top of things with monthly emails and reply to the inquiries, you will be ok.

We wasted many years with this lawyer. She never answered our calls or emails. She or her assistant called only about money or payments! All work we done by ourselves. She didn't know anything about immigration law. She cannot answer to our questions, she didn't prepare our documents. It was horrible years with this "lawyer". She cares only about money. It was looks like she is some sort of scammer or fraudster who took your money and forget about your existence. She also fabricated cases and proposed to fabricate cases for interview with USCIS. She used fraud practice and offer services that we don't need. Never ever pick this horrible attorney.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the expertise of Irina Lemberg, a brilliant lawyer, and her dedicated and supportive team. Despite being told by other lawyers in Los Angeles for the entirety of the 7 years I lived there that my case had no chance of success, Irina was the only one who believed in our chances and worked tirelessly to prove it. Her professionalism and unwavering support were truly impressive. What struck me the most was that unlike the common perception of lawyers who are solely focused on collecting fees without providing real help, Irina was different. Even though our agreement required payment to be made 10 days prior to the hearing, I forgot about it and no one from her team reminded me. It was only after the hearing was over that I remembered and paid. I am immensely grateful for the level of trust and understanding displayed by Irina and her team. I cannot recommend Lemberg Law highly enough, as they were recommended to me by a friend. If you're in need of legal assistance, I urge you to consider this exceptional professional team

I can't say enough about Sean Banafsheh & BD&J! Sean is the most intelligent, professional, friendly and caring attorney that I know. We met Sean about 4 1/2 years ago after our prior attorney forfeited our case. My family and I were involved in a trucking accident in Sacramento, California, wife suffered crushed discs on her lower spine. After meeting Sean he made us feel at ease about all the legal stuff and connected us with the best doctors in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills area. I'm so impressed by him and his firm. They really took care of business for us. This was a long fight with the insurance because at first they were denying liability and they didn't want to pay and finally right before trial, we settled the case for a very large amount. We couldn't have picked a better firm than BD&J. Felt so good that all the partners of the firm were involved in our case. Communication was very important for us and Sean managed that very well! It was really nice of him to give us his cell phone number, we texted/called anytime we had questions and his response was within minutes, even on nights and weekends! I will forever be grateful to everyone that worked in our case, especially, Sean Banafsheh, Shawn McCann, Lauren Horwitz and their assistants Rosa, Sana and everyone else involved! We hope we never need their services again, but if we do, we will definitely be calling Sean right away. For now, we will be referring them to anyone we know that needs an experienced, high end trial lawyers! Thanks Sean for everything you did for our family! Wish you the best, cheers! Jacob & Stephanie

I took a tumble and injured my back. I was referred to John Carpenter (and his Firm) by a reputable Expert Witness in Personal Injury. I telephoned on a Friday --- immediately after the accident --- and spoke with an "Intake Representative" named Marisol. I gave her the factual background and emailed photos of the accident site per her request. I was hoping to start medical treatment immediately since I was in pain. OVER A WEEK has gone by without ANY response. As of this writing I have still not heard from them! This afternoon I hired a different Attorney who met with me THE SAME DAY as my initial call to his Office and I am beginning Medical Treatment --- albeit delayed because of my unfortunate detour to Zuckerman, Don't Care and Rowley.

First and foremost, Mr. Wasieleski was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I could not be more thankful for the help that he gave me. I was involved in an automobile accident in late 2015 in which I was t-boned at an intersection by someone who ran their red light. As a result of my accident I was experiencing sever pain in my body almost immediately. I was referred to Mr. Wasieleski by a friend who had gone through him for their auto accident and they were extremely pleased with how he handled their case. He immediately contacted a witness at the scene in regards to my case and was able to the prove that I was not at fault for the accident by securing the witness's statement. Thanks to Mr. Wasieleski, I received the treatment that I needed and he was able to settle my total loss vehicle for more than I believed it was even worth!! Not to mention, he got me a great settlement for my personal injury claim as well. All of this was done by him and his office and they were diligent in their work and response. I highly recommend him and will happily refer all my friends and family in any situation where serious personal injury has occurred. He is my go to attorney for life.

Shortly after becoming a surviving spouse I retained Randy Leff at Erwin, Cohen & Jessup, (“ECJ”) as my legal counsel after a lengthy consultation. There were negotiations Randy spearheaded that involved my accounting firm. Randy was representing me and my best interests.—So I thought when I wrote the previous review. Fast forward to today. I learn that my accounting firm was ALSO a client of Randy’s at Erwin, Cohen & Jessup during our high stakes negotiations. ECJ continues to represent what is now my former accounting firm. The accounting firm grosses 500 million dollars in yearly revenue. I feel angry and sad. Randy had a fiduciary duty to me as his client to disclose that there was a conflict of interest. Instead the most basic legal tenet was violated. Randy never made this required disclosure at the time I retained ECJ, one of the oldest and most experienced law firms in Beverly Hills. They know better. I had doubts when the terms of the agreement were being negotiated involving the accounting firm. I had questions. Randy assured me that this was the best case scenario. It turns out that it was the best outcome for his client to have the issues “resolved”, to have me stop asking questions and move on. I recently reviewed my invoices from ECJ. I was charged and billed for hours that Randy talked to my accounting firm. I was charged for Randy to talk to his other client. Since the conflict of interest was recently brought to my attention I have reached out to Randy in writing. Silence. No response to acknowledge or remedy this situation has been obtained. I am a single mom. Randy prided himself in caring about the future of my family. If this was the case he would respond to my communications and attempt to remedy this professional error and misjudgment. I look forward to working towards that resolution.

Following a distressing car accident, I sought the expertise of Carpenter and Zuckerman, grappling with the aftermath of sustaining multiple injuries and the total loss of my vehicle due to another driver's blatant disregard for a red light. Amid my upheaval, I remembered a friend's characterization of Paul Zuckerman as a "Super Tough, yet approachable figure with a generous heart and a distinctive New York Attitude." Their esteemed reputation, I discovered, is indeed well-earned. In the aftermath of a serious accident, one needs more than mere legal representation; one requires a steadfast advocate who not only tirelessly champions your cause but also deeply values your well-being. From the moment I stepped into their office, the sense of being in capable hands was immediate. Despite the firm's acclaim and their distinction as "Super Lawyers," Paul Zuckerman personally offered his guidance, radiating confidence and solace. Right from our initial conversation, I was thoroughly convinced of Carpenter and Zuckerman's commitment to securing the comprehensive compensation I rightfully deserved. Paul's assurance of having a committed team in my corner was exemplified not just in words but in action, particularly by Gabriela, who emerged as an unwavering pillar of support; Ivy Callahan, the Department Director of the Lien Department, who was exceptional in swiftly finding an alternative MRI center, securing an appointment in real time, and seamlessly managing the billing and scheduling details; and Anastasiya, the lien negotiator, who worked tirelessly to ensure my medical bills were negotiated down to the bare minimum. The results of her efforts were beyond my expectations, showcasing the depth of commitment and skill within the team. As my recovery and the legal challenge progressed, Zuckerman and Carpenter assertively confronted the defendant's insurance company, striving for the highest compensation possible. Despite their initial insufficient offer, Paul Zuckerman's steadfast confidence instilled patience in me. His belief in the firm's expertise imbued me with profound trust. Carpenter and Zuckerman's formidable prowess was unmistakably demonstrated, compelling the insurance company to acknowledge their disadvantage against such a tenacious legal force. In a matter of weeks, they conceded to the demanded settlement amount, a testament to the firm's vigorous advocacy recognized by all. Under Paul Zuckerman's leadership, Carpenter and Zuckerman operate with unmatched precision and resolve, mirroring a well-coordinated force dedicated to securing justice for their clients, akin to a seasoned general leading a disciplined infantry into battle. Reflecting on my journey with Carpenter and Zuckerman, it evokes the pinnacle of service excellence, Patrick Mahomes' indomitable spirit, Einstein's intellectual dominance, and the fierce determination of a charging bull. I am profoundly grateful to the entire team, including Anastasiya and Ivy Callahan, for transforming what could have been an overwhelming ordeal into a seamless journey of support and resolution. Moreover, even after securing my settlement, the firm maintained frequent updates, ensuring clarity on the progress of my disbursement with comprehensive messages that eliminated any doubt about the status of my case. My heartfelt appreciation extends to Carpenter and Zuckerman for their exceptional service, unwavering dedication, and the continuous, transparent communication that guided me through this journey.

My car was rear ended, aggravating a bulging disc. Carpenter & Zuckerman set up all my doctor appointments and paid for everything up front. They were able to get me a settlement for both my injury case and property damage case. I am very happy with the way they handled my case.

Consulted with and hired Mr Keleti to help our company in a legal dispute. He gave me the overview, what was needed and timeline. Sent paperwork to him as requested. He agreed to start and said 8-10 hours unless it moves to court. He knew the timeline was super important to respond to the court yet he failed to get back to me and hurt our business. Big mistake to trust him. Very unprofessional for a lawyer and disappointing behavior.

Bennett Spector was a NIGHTMARE to have as my attorney! I would NEVER use him again or recommend him. I was not only suffering from injuries from my car accident. Additionally, I just had breast cancer surgery and going through the hell of chemo and radiation. Bennett was abrasive in his manner of speaking to me. He also was non communicative about important aspects of my case. I had to literally pursue him to get the answers I needed about important issues about my case. He yelled at me numerous amounts of times and stressed me out immensely in addition to the stress I was already enduring from cancer treatment! It was a horror to deal with him. He got me a pittance in compensation for my pain and suffering. He is a horrible lawyer and pitiful excuse for a human being!

What a Personal Injury Lawyer Can Do for You

A personal injury lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been physically or emotionally injured due to the negligence or wrongful actions of another party. Whether you've been hurt in a car accident, suffered a slip and fall, or experienced medical malpractice, a personal injury attorney works to ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries. They can help you recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related expenses.

Personal injury lawyers act as your advocate, navigating the legal system on your behalf and dealing with insurance companies to ensure you get the compensation you deserve. They understand how to handle complex legal matters and help you avoid common pitfalls.

When Should I Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer?

Hiring a personal injury lawyer can be beneficial in many situations where you've been harmed due to another's negligence. Some key scenarios include:

  • Severe injuries: If you've suffered significant or permanent injuries that result in substantial medical bills, a lawyer can help ensure you are fairly compensated.
  • Long-term or permanent disability: Injuries that affect your ability to work or require ongoing medical treatment are complex, and a lawyer can help estimate long-term damages.
  • Disputed liability: If the responsible party or their insurance company denies liability for your injury, a lawyer can gather evidence and advocate on your behalf.
  • Insurance company lowball offers: Insurers often try to settle personal injury claims for as little as possible. A lawyer can negotiate to get you a fair settlement.
  • Medical malpractice claims: Injuries caused by a doctor, nurse, or healthcare provider due to negligence require a personal injury lawyer experienced in medical malpractice law.
  • Exposure to hazardous substances: If you've been injured due to exposure to toxins, chemicals, or dangerous substances, a lawyer can help pursue legal action.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is crucial, especially if you're unsure of the full extent of your injuries or damages.

What Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Do?

A personal injury lawyer provides a wide range of services to guide you through the legal process and maximize your compensation. They can:

  • Evaluate your case: A lawyer will assess the strength of your claim and determine whether you have a viable case.
  • Investigate the incident: Gathering evidence such as police reports, witness statements, medical records, and expert opinions is key to building a strong case.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies: Lawyers handle communications with insurance companies to ensure you receive a fair settlement and aren't taken advantage of.
  • File a lawsuit if necessary: If a fair settlement can't be reached, the lawyer can file a personal injury lawsuit on your behalf and represent you in court.
  • Help calculate damages: This includes medical expenses, lost wages, future medical needs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
  • Prepare and file legal documents: Lawyers handle all the paperwork and deadlines associated with your case, including filing motions and discovery requests.
  • Represent you at trial: If your case goes to trial, the lawyer will argue your case before a judge and jury to obtain the compensation you deserve.

How Are Personal Injury Lawyers Paid?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win your case, either through settlement or a court judgment. Here’s how it works:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer will take a percentage of the settlement or award, typically between 25% and 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the stage at which it's resolved.
  • Costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer may deduct other costs associated with the case, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs. These expenses are often advanced by the lawyer and repaid out of the settlement.
  • No upfront payment: Since the lawyer’s fee is contingent on winning, you usually don’t pay anything upfront.

Always discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a personal injury lawyer depends on the specifics of your case and the lawyer’s fee structure. However, since most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, the amount you pay will depend on the outcome of your case. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Contingency fees: Typically range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award. The percentage may increase if the case goes to trial or requires an appeal.
  • Other costs: In addition to the lawyer's fee, you may be responsible for case-related expenses such as expert witness fees, medical record retrieval fees, and court costs. These are often deducted from your settlement, so you won't have to pay out of pocket.

While the cost may seem high, hiring an experienced lawyer can significantly increase the amount you recover, making it a worthwhile investment.

Top Questions to Ask a Personal Injury Lawyer

Before hiring a personal injury lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure you’re choosing the right representation. Here are some important questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with personal injury cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has handled cases involving similar injuries or accidents.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee and what percentage they will take from any settlement or award.
  3. How long will my case take?
While it's hard to predict, a lawyer can give you an estimate based on similar cases they’ve handled.
  4. How often do you take cases to trial?
Some lawyers prefer to settle quickly, while others are more comfortable going to court if necessary.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior lawyers or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case, so it's important to know who will be managing your claim.
  6. Do you have references from past clients?
Speaking with past clients can provide valuable insight into the lawyer’s effectiveness and professionalism.

How to Check the Credibility of a Personal Injury Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible personal injury lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, and Google reviews can provide insight into the lawyer's reputation and client satisfaction.
  • Look at their track record: Review their experience with personal injury cases, particularly how many cases they’ve successfully resolved or taken to trial.
  • Ask for references: Credible lawyers should be willing to provide references from past clients who can vouch for their work.
  • Check professional memberships: Lawyers who are members of respected organizations, like the American Association for Justice (AAJ), often have a solid reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a personal injury lawyer, prepare the following:

  • Detailed account of the accident: Write down everything you remember about the incident, including dates, times, and locations. Include any witnesses or police reports if available.
  • Medical records and bills: Bring any documentation of your injuries, treatments, and associated medical costs.
  • Insurance information: Provide your insurance details and any communication you’ve had with the other party’s insurance company.
  • Employment and income records: If your injury has impacted your ability to work, bring proof of lost wages or reduced earning capacity.
  • Photos or videos: If you have photos of the accident scene, your injuries, or property damage, bring them to your consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare a list of questions to ask, including how the lawyer will handle your case and what you can expect in terms of timeline and outcome.

By preparing thoroughly for your first consultation, you’ll help the lawyer understand your case more quickly and get a better sense of your legal options.
