I know Mr. Bernard is working hard on my case-as I was amazingly impressed by his hands on approach, rite when I asked for his representation. When I asked if he would be interested in handling my case, he was already deeply involved in the particulars upon this case, which is based upon my rite to privacy, in that it being grossly in violation to be filming me without my knowleedge-then actually putting me on a cable television show, again, without my knowledge! (Nor, a waiver to be filmed, or any pay whatsoever!) Incredible as it may sound, Kirk Bernard saw rite away the way to restore my dignity, and my basic American rites as a human being. I've yet to hear what this person filming me has to say, and what his accountant has to say to Kirk and I about this overlooked "detail" of this flagrant violation of my rites, actually televised on syndicated cable television!

Finding Joni was a God send! Literally!! I heard her commercial on the radio and wrote her phone number down. A year later, when I decided I needed a lawyer, I couldn’t find her number so I prayed about it. The next day I got in my car driving home from work and her commercial came on the radio! I pulled over in my car and immediately called her and was able to speak with her. I made my appointment and met this wonderful, intelligent, compassionate woman who understood what I was going through, and what I needed to do. Joni not only helped me through the most desperate time in my life, but also became my friend. She was always there for me answering any of my questions, sometimes in the wee hours of the morning. I would describe Joni as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She looks so sweet but she is fierce and gets the job done!! She knows how to handle opposing lawyers, her knowledge of judges and the court system is remarkable. When I first met Ms. Salice, I was terrified, I felt so alone, afraid of what the future was going to hold. I was in a bad marriage, had recently been diagnosed with a health condition, and was in the beginning phases of my divorce. Without sharing too much detail, I shared a bit of my story with an online platform of a group of moms seeking advice. Ms. Salice was one of the fellow moms who reached out to me to offer support, but in no way did she appear to be seeking a client, but rather, she was simply being kind and compassionate. The mere fact that she was a Family Law Attorney didn’t even come into play until much later. When it became clear that I needed a lawyer, I didn’t even know she could represent me in my county, but on one of the scariest days of my life, I reached out to Ms. Salice in a panic unsure of what to do. Please heed the warning of others. My hearing was an embarrassing mess of incompetence. For one, it was clear that attorney (Charlie) had not reviewed my case, as he was caught off guard when the judge stated that we were contesting not one, but two rulings. This should have been obvious with a simple glance at my file. Charlie’s closing statements were short & comical, given the huge blunder at beginning of case. In all, they ended up giving me poor advice that resulted in the case being lost. You’ll literally have two calls with this firm: one to take your money, and one 20 minute brief the day before the hearing. The second call isn’t even scheduled. Mine happened after hours at 7:45 pm after I waited all day for a call. Please look elsewhere, or represent yourself. I’m convinced that the the majority of their positive reviews are paid for.

Where to start. My case is complex and there are a lot of reasons an attorney should want to take it. I think it will be big case with an enormous company (with a slippery reputation). I have a lot of evidence covering a lot of time. That’s all very good for attorneys. There’s also a lot of reasons not to touch my case.
I consider myself to be knowledgeable on all of these matters.
In my consultation I was just looking for a person who wanted to uncover the truth and then give honest advice. If you don’t know what an attorney’s motivation is on these calls, you need to educate yourself.
Consulting calls = your sales pitch for your case and you get one per person. Don’t think of them as anything else. These people have a *choice* in who they accept. It’s not some special government thing where if you have a case, they are obligated to take you on.
If I had this person’s degrees, I’d tell every single caller ‘no’ until a really special case came along. Degrees aren’t everything in life, but I think it makes sense to at lease think about it when you search for an attorney, right?
You need a case which is going to make your attorney money. This attorney *and every single other attorney who works on contingency* go to bed crying with empty stomachs if they lose your case.
That’s an obvious exaggeration, but if you went to law school you probably make smart decisions. If you could help 10,000 people and they were all calling you, you wouldn’t choose a person who wasn’t going to make you money, when someone else in an equally terrible situation could make you a boatload.
Circling back to how this is relevant: I called it a sales pitch. If you educate yourself after reading this review, you will know that if attorneys aren’t taking your case, it’s your responsibility to deliver a better sales pitch next time.
There is a lack of clear focus on this important factor in the places people like us go when we try to figure out what the heck we are doing *in life* to make the world stop spinning.
*Getting an attorney* *is a battle* you *still* have to fight regardless of how bad your life. This is because they have to collect a paycheck - and you can’t blame them as long as they keep helping other people who hurt too.
The better they are, the luckier you are just to get them on the phone. You need to arm yourself with information, make a sales pitch, and just hope they don’t rush off the phone *too* quickly when they realize your case is great, but not great enough for their firm.
Generally speaking, a good sales pitch:
1) Has a lot of written documentation supporting a clear timeline of specific events
2) Knows what the charge is before the call (discrimination, harassment, retaliation). These all have different timelines. Attorneys are going to poke holes in this. If you say “I don’t know” to *anything* in a call, accept your case is bad OR make sure you have a great answer prepared for the next one.
3) Already knows all the reasons you will lose in court. Same as above.
Basically, the attorney is looking for reasons you will win and reasons you will lose. Anything you are leaving as a mystery at the end of the call lives in the losing bucket. Minimize the mystery and the right thing will happen on a call eventually.
You should put Eliot on your list and hope he has some time.

Olesia Boulaev and the Levine Law Firm represented me in a personal injury suit. Their contract was fair and clearly written. After I submitted my evidence electronically to the firm, Olesia filed the suit. We worked through emails and telephone calls. Mr. Pollitt was on top of my case from the beginning. I reached out to Dr Kramer due to a google search for helping with Malpractice from Kaiser. While Dr Kramer did come across short and rough over the phone, and requested a 5-figure up front retainer, I wanted to vouch for him since I saw so many people complain about his initial phone call.
He is rough and direct. But that is what you want in an attorney. He’s also uniquely qualified since he has both an M.D. as well as a J.D. He got his law degree from Stanford. I called on Memorial Day, a holiday where most firms only let me leave a voicemail and never actually returned the call, and DR. Kramer answered the phone personally. I was requesting an ex parte motion be filed asap and despite the short notice, he was willing to get it done in less than two days filed with the court.
He may not be the cheapest attorney, but he’s direct and answers the phone or messages you back quickly. This is a rare thing in the legal industry.
Most attorneys will likely give you a lot of lip service. I actually prefer the direct to the point nature that Dr. Kramer gives. He doesn’t waste time.
So if you are very sensitive and need someone to be gentle with you over the phone for an initial meeting, he likely isn’t the person for you. If you want an aggressive, hard working attorney who is overqualified for his role and still willing to take smaller cases, then he is your man. As an experience finance expert who graduated from Harvard University, I can genuinely tell you that this is a rare trait to have from an attorney. Anyone would be lucky to have him represent their case.
