I retained Rachel when I was going through a bitter divorce and custody battle. Her 20+ years experience as a family law attorney gave her incredible insight into my case. She presented very powerful and persuasive arguments about why I should have split custody of my daughter. Ultimately i believe it was because of her determination that I won split custody. My father retained Mrs. Johnston for a juvenile criminal matter. Mrs. Johnston was skillful and persuaded judge to try me (a first time offender) and co-defendant (who had a considerable amount of criminal history) separately. A class "A" charge, carrying a 2-5 year sentence was dismissed and I entered a plea on a remaining charge that was a class "C" offense.
Over the years my family has been in contact with Mrs. Johnston who has made her wisdom and legal services available to us. I had to retain this legal service due to a gross misdemeanor and ended with outcome I could've never gotten myself. Basically, the system is stacked against anyone who even remotely considers self representation, its legal suicide and the court system treats you as much. Whatever you need to do? Get an attorney, even in a misdemeanor case bc WA only gives breaks to violent thieving criminals.... Just ask Elijah Jamar Wright.

I got blind-sided by an intense felony DV arrest in January 2011 and charged with some severe crimes. I didn't even know I broke any laws but it looked pretty grim to me after reading the reports. This was really my first time being in trouble and I had no idea how the wheel turned. I was relieved beyond words after hiring Craig Platt and getting information and interpretation from him. Several months later, I started talking with my wife again, believing it was fine since she was initiating it. My stupidity almost got me arrested when she decided to stop talking to me again and report the contact. Craig stopped the arrest efforts and again deflated the situation. In the beginning of this case I was facing a class B felony. With Mr. Platts expertise and knowledge my charge was dropped to a misdemeanor. Considering the circumstances we were looking at at first, I was very pleased with my sentencing. He's definitely worth the money that's for sure because if I could not have obtained his services I would be in jail and my kids would be without their mother....Thank you will never be enough to show my appreciation..

Chris handled our unusual family law case with intelligence, needed flexibility, and legal expertise (which is not to be assumed for any lawyer). He showed real skill at legal argument, in briefs and on his feet in court. He also demonstrated the judgment regarding larger, non-legal issues to warrant our trust in his choices and recommendations for overall approach. I am convinced that if our case had not been reassigned to the worst, most lawless judge in King County Superior Court, we would have had a satisfactory solution. In the late 90s, I was an organizer during the WTO Protests where I was shot in the face by a nonlethal weapon. Fred Diamondstone stood by my side as I sued the Seattle Police Department for police brutality.

I feel extremely satisfied to have had Fred represent my family when we were injured in a car accident. I made the best decision when I chose Catherine Fleming of Fleming Law to represent me in my lawsuit against the city of Seattle. We are so glad we found Catherine Fleming and Fleming Law!
After my wife’s bicycle crash in Seattle and subsequent spinal surgery, we faced an uncertain future. Before, she had been a strong cyclist and active hiker, but now was confined to a wheelchair with incomplete paraplegia.
Not only did we experience the loss of the many activities we had once shared, we now faced looming medical expenses, and the possibility of needing long-term care in the future.
We believed that the area where my wife crashed was confusing and dangerous for bicyclists, but were unsure if we had any hope of recovering anything for damages. I am a lawyer in Pennsylvania and I just completed a Products Liability case in Pennsylvania involving the alleged failure of a defective bicycle part manufactured in another country. I had a jurisdictional problem whereby personal jurisdiction over the foreign manufacturer was at issue in Pennsylvania. Because the Statute of Limitations, (or time within which suit had to be filed) was expiring, I needed to file a protective action in Federal Court in Washington State at the last minute since the foreign defendant clearly did business in Washington State. Through the trial lawyer list serve on the internet I contacted Phil Arnold who practices Seattle and throughout Washington State. Phil immediately responded to me and immediately took time out of his busy schedule to act as local counsel and get the suit filed in Fed Ct and then convince the Court to have the the case stayed in Fed Ct in Washington while my case proceeded in Pennsylvania. Because of Phil Arnold's responsiveness and legal skills, in filing this protective action in Washington at the last minute, I was able to obtain a favorable resolution of my case in Pa. Phil did not have to help me, but he never hesitated a bit. That is why I am proud to be a trial lawyer and member of the American Association of Justice in which Phil is also a member. While driving southbound on I-5 in Tacoma an underinsured motorist sideswiped a dump-truck causing it to spin around and go north in the southbound lanes and hitting us head-on. We were crushed between the spinning dump truck, the car that caused the accident and the car that rear-ended us. We hired Schroeter Goldmark & Bender to represent us.
The insurance carrier for the underinsured motorist paid us the limits under their policy. Our own insurance company basically made an offer of zero to cover life-altering and permanent injuries.
Our team at SGB of Adam Berger, Sergio Garcidueñas-Sease, Lindsay Halm and Alder Burgess took over for us. One of the most important things they did was to shield us from the stone-walling, delaying tactics of our own insurance company to whom we had paid premiums for more than 30 years. From the beginning they handled the case as if it would end up in litigation. You need attorneys like SGB that have your back and are not afraid to go to court if that is what it takes.
They had the added challenge of doing this during Covid. Thank goodness for Zoom conferences. We ultimately got a court date. Two months prior to our court date, we went to mediation, via Zoom. We didn't hold out much hope for mediation, but we were willing to make an attempt. What a surprise when the insurance company came to mediation finally willing to negotiate. After a full day of the mediator going back and forth between Zoom rooms, we came to a fair monetary settlement. We are convinced that the insurance company, even then, was only willing to negotiate because, Adam and the rest of his team were well prepared bulldogs willing to go to court if mediation failed. As they like to say, "This was not their first rodeo".
A car accident is horrible. You need the best attorneys you can find to protect your interests. Besides being professional and knowing the case inside and out, Adam and the rest of his team are compassionate and truly care about their clients. We strongly recommend them to anyone who needs their service. Without Adam and SGB our insurance company would have paid us nothing.

Chris worked hard for me battling my insurance company. They tried to low ball us and Chris let them know we'd be taking them to court.
