I’ve had the pleasure of working with John to create my will, living trust, and complete the purchase of my first property in Chicago. Impressed does not even begin to explain my sentiments about my interactions with John.
Pros:
- He is incredibly amenable and available to his clients. I don’t think I ever went more than 10 minutes without him returning a phone call or email.
- He breaks things down so they’re easily digestible for those who have never worked with an Attorney or required the services John provides
- He consistently goes above and beyond by providing additional support or insight to assist in decision making
- He generally cares about the needs of his clients
Cons:
- We can’t clone him to make more Johns!
It can be an incredibly daunting and overwhelming experience to go through any of the life changes that might require John’s support. However, I can assure you that there aren’t greater hands you could be in.

John is great. We've worked with him on our living will, trust and most recently on our sale of the condo. It was a somewhat tricky transaction due to the buyer's side but he got it done. He is extremely detail oriented, patient and very responsive. He returned our calls on Sundays, New Year's Day and even on his birthday over a weekend. We highly recommend John.

Chris has handled the closings on two properties my Husband and I own, and each one went as smooth as silk. The thing we like best about Chris is the fact that "there are no stupid questions" from his client to him, and he makes sure all your questions are answered to your satisfaction before he will allow you to sign off on anything. Alex volunteered at our nonprofit community service organization a few months ago and imparted a tremendous amount of information and knowledge he had about the housing sector to our staff. Our organization provides free housing counseling services for the public, to help them prevent foreclosures and/or resolve tenant-landlord issues. In order to help us better understand and apply for a first-time fair housing grant, Alex volunteered his time and skills and helped us write an incredible grant proposal- one in which scored in the 90th percentile- to help us create a new fair housing program at our organization. Alex spent several weeks volunteering with us, patiently working with us and educating us on the topic. This was our very first application for this type of grant and even though we were not selected, our organization's proposal scored in 90th percentile bracket out of the many thousands of applications received. We are convinced that the knowledge and information he imparted on our housing staff was tremendous, which now helps them better understand complex fair housing issues. During this process, we discovered that Alex had a great training history in this arena, because he was a fair housing clinic participant during his law school days. This combined with his passion to help people in need, provides him with an excellent knowledge of the law along with real hands-on fair housing and landlord tenant assistance experience.

We were very satisfied with the service we received from Ms. Tarr, we would highly recommend her. In the process of purchasing our home she kept us informed in detailed from beginning to end. She demonstrated she had our best interest at closing due to some diffilculties we came across with the sellers. Jesse Guth was recommended to by another attorney. I didn't know what I needed. Jesse was informative. I was run over as a pedestrian, Jesse encouraged me to find treatment that suited me.
When I was discouraged and thought we should quit, Jesse heard me out. Then reiterated where we were in the process and what our goal was.
The insurance company was not working with us. Jesse prepared me for trail, I was confident, not fearful. Thankfully we didn't have to go to trial.

We have worked with Adam on various personal and business related matters. We first worked with Adam related to a foreclosure defense where a previous attorney made quite a few mistakes and filed things incorrectly, etc. I asked Adam an extreme amount of questions, and not only did he answer them well, he didn't rush me off the phone or out of a meeting and this was a flat rate that we agreed to, so he wasn't taking his time just to keep the meter running. He simply wanted to make sure that we were confident and comfortable with the answers and our understanding of the issues.
Not only did we use Adam for ourselves, but any time people have asked if we know a lawyer who can help them with X, Y or Z, I referred them to him. He's worth talking to even if it's outside of his core area. I trust his opinion and know he'd steer us in the right direction, even if it was a referral to another attorney.
Lastly, my wife and I are also business owners and we've used Adam at SRM for various legal matters for our business. He's always a pleasure to talk to, he's always calm and patient, and ultimately, it's a rare experience to have an attorney who will answer your questions with respect that you too, are an educated individual. I've found other attorneys that don't want to bother to explain, as if they perceive the explanation not to matter because you won't understand it. I've never had that experience with Adam.

Adam represented me in order to reach an agreement that was needed between myself and my new landlord. Not knowing what my legal rights were, was both frustrating and intimidating to say the least. Feeling bullied also made my situation worse. Adam provided knowledgeable expertise to my particular situation and made me feel fully supported by both explaining to me what my rights were, as well as conveying them to my landlord. I felt confident throughout the process that I was being represented extremely well, especially during challenging moments.

My experience with Salvador is that of hope. Salvador was referred to my family and it honestly added hope to a situation for too difficult cope with. In 2015, my parents along with my sister, seemed to had been fighting a losing battle to save a home. Salvador took up my parents' foreclosure case and ensured that he would do anything in his power to secure the best possible solution. Through the years, the services of his office were always so polite, so professional, and on top of that, they speak Spanish. The bilingual staff, helped to create comfort for my mom so that she can fully understand the process and the work Salvador's office was doing for my family. Mr. Lopez did an outstanding job assisting me with the foreclosure sale of my home in Illinois although I lived in another state. He was very thorough explaining every step of the process. I especially appreciated the fact that the process was completed in 30 days. I communicated with him via phone and email. Hannah was phenomenal to work with. I started by trying to navigate the divorce process on my own but became overwhelmed. I found Hannah in a neighborhood Facebook group and decided to book a consultation. Having done one consultation already with another well known Chicago firm, I was super hesitant. Unlike other firms, she did not make me fill out a 10 page questionnaire prior to getting on a call and was actually honest and gave advice during our one hour call. She didn’t push me to get off the phone within a time limit. She was present and made sure I was comfortable and my questions were answered. Throughout the divorce process I could not have asked for a better attorney to partner with. While my divorce was relatively “easy” she was on top of it! Every email was answered in way less than 24 hours (usually within 1) and her follow up was impeccable. She always had a plan and always told me what to expect next. I cannot recommend Hannah enough.

I am a small business owner in Chicago and received a ticket for displaying a small chalkboard sign advertising what my business does. When I appeared in court I was told I needed a lawyer to represent me due to the fact that I am incorporated. Nowhere on the ticket did it indicate that I would need a lawyer - most of the business owners left with a revised court date which I found incredibly disruptive. Forcing hardworking business owners to take yet another day off of work, and leaving them with the task of finding a lawyer who would likely take advantage of the situation. I found Erik outside of the court room with a smile and he was so eager to help me. I didn't have to reschedule or take any further time off of work. He refiled my paper work and came in to the court room with me not more than ten minutes after we met. One of the charges was dropped (the city's error) and the original charge was the minimum fine. He made a potentially horrible situation pleasant with his polite manner, can do attitude and friendly smile. God forbid I ever need a lawyers services again, I will most certainly be calling him.
