Upon moving to New Haven I was having issues with the Board of Education not implementing my child's IEP I was referred to New Haven legal assistance. During the PPT meeting I started to notice that the attorney that was assigned to my case
was not addressing the important issues that needed to be addressed so my child's Services could be implemented. NO CHANGES WERE MADE.
I had to personally pay for a attorney.
Out of pocket
The educational lawyer that I hired made sure that my child received the paraprofessional that my child needed but by the time I was able to afford this lawyer it was at the end of the next school year weeks before graduation.
Nhi had the opportunity to help my child who was struggling socially and academically due to the fact that the IEP was not being implemented and Nhi Did not change any thing. I wonder how she sleeps at night is she happy knowing that one less black child is being educated.
The moral of the story is New Haven legal assistance and New Haven Board of Education work with each other to make sure that special education children do not receive services that are legally on their IEP just to save money.

I was referred to Atty. Heather Perreault by a professional contact who recommended Atty. Perreault as a fantastic resource. This contact explained that she was actually the opposing counsel in her prior divorce proceedings and was preferred to her own attorney. My experience with Atty Perreault was nothing short of fantastic and she deserves the highest recommendation. She has a welcoming, warm, and supportive interpersonal approach that immediately will create a sense of comfort ability and peace of mind. She breaks down the process very well and makes all easy to navigate. Her approach is objective, balanced, and is responsive to all requests. She made an extremely challenging and traumatic situation bearable and was very direct and transparent with goings ons, keeping me in the loop and breaking down every pertinent detail. Her knowledge and experience were indispensable and my case ended up going better than expected.
When walking out of the courtroom on the final day of my case, another unknown lawyer approached me in passing and said, “Yeah, I wouldn’t want to mess with your Attorney...she’s tough!” His words couldn’t have been more true. My girlfriend has used this law firm and the attorney, Alison Broad , has been nothing but a waste of time for her. Every time she tries to reach out to her to ask questions and help her with stuff she either doesn’t answer her or just blows her off. I have myself also reached out to this Atty to try to speak with her, and she will not respond back to me. Because of this Attorneys inability to help my girlfriend she is nowlosing her house.

Robert completely drop the ball numerous times. No communication but charges me for reading emails did not hand in motions and my whole case was dismissed after all money spent to try to have my twins co-parenting 15k lost and they are still invoicing this is unacceptable fired them but since court wasn’t notified they keep charging have emails to back statements if any questions
