I contacted Mr Hoffman on behalf of company over a contractual dispute. The opposing party had developed a majority of their financial basis for indemnification on matters not relevant to actual contract law. Additionally, the opposing attorney had made numerous errors in their filing. What I’ve highlighted is just a small portion of what Mr Hoffman was able to point out quickly and change the direction of this discussion toward a mediation and a “reasonable” level to negotiate. I felt Mr Hoffman did what was in my companies best interest to make matters practical and not emotional. As a small business owner trying to get by, the last thing I want is to deal with nuisances of a frivolous lawsuit… having Mr Hoffman on my side certainly brought clarity and confidence how we could handle this matter without creating an unnecessary and complex trial out of this.
Another item to highlight is that Mr Hoffman was quick to return calls/emails. When I originally reached out, he answered his phone. Can’t say that about any of the other attorneys I inquired with and I reached to a handful.

Called him late one evening to inquire about how to obtain my business license. He didn't get annoyed that it was after working hours. Instead, he promised to look it up first thing the next morning and get back to me which he did. He provided me with all the information I needed to get my business license. 5 stars is all this website offers but he gets 20 stars from me.

During the years I needed Mr. Phillip Chalker expertise on three separate occasions. First, with a tenant that refused to leave the property. Secondly, was with a contract release of a shady management company. Finally, a mutual lease break with multi-tenants. Mr. Chalker's knowledge and quick action was everything I would hope for in a lawyer. All three occasions ended in my favor thanks to him. He's definitely my go to lawyer because I know I will receive focused attention and great results.

I had a unique situation where I had a tenant move out of an owner occupant property in Baltimore city. The tenant was a nightmare to deal with. Anything she could do to postpone, or take responsibility for her actions, she would do. Where do I start? We were lucky to be referred to Mr. Darrow when we thought our case had little hope of being favorably resolved. I had a very complex matter regarding my drivers license and the MVA due to legal circumstances . I hired Joseph Lawrence to represent me in my divorce. He was confident without being arrogant, exceptionally knowledgeable and able to fully describe possible outcomes, procedures, etc., and was able to talk me off the ledge when I became worried. I wish that I had enough writing space to express just how competent and skilled Brian Loffredo has been with respect to my legal matter. Roger will take the time to walk you through the process of an appeal to see if it's worth your time and resources. He and his network of former staff attorneys from the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court taught me that strict compliance with the rule of law is necessary or you will waste your time and resources. This means that the record must be cited accurately, facts must be taken from the record and you must comply with all the rules. Judges do not want to be overturned. I found Roger here on Avvo and he took on my unique and uncommon case that luckily he already had experience with. He explained things thoroughly but made no promises; he professionally provided his opinion while not guaranteeing any sort of outcome. My company was hit with a never-ending “nuisance” law suit. Our long-time “K Street” lawyer was making no progress however he was making a fortune in hourly fees and if I put up with this “process” I would either have to pay extortion to the plaintiff or go broke paying my lawyer.
At the suggestion of one of my employees, I moved the case to Brian Maul and was immediately amazed at how well he compared and contrasted to my previous lawyer.
It’s easier to just list his many attributes:
1. He is extremely logical and really knows business law. He is intelligent, ethical and easy to work with.
2. He is very cost-efficient and generally produced 2 to 3 times the amount (of superior) work my previous lawyer did on a per hour basis.
3. He got up to speed with the case fast. In less than a month, he knew a lot more about this case than my previous lawyer who had been milking it for over a year.
4. He answered my legal questions fast and to the point. We discussed how we each thought the case should be handled and came to an optimal agreement; that worked!
Brian submitted well targeted briefs. His in court arguments were well received by the judge and the opposing counsel was no match for him. This case was rapidly settled without going to trial.
I never thought that I would compare the work of a lawyer to an artist.. Brian is an artist !

We were in a situation that we needed to back out a real estate contract signed without the full knowledge of the property, but the deceiving seller threatened to pursue damage far beyond earnest money deposit (EMD)

Kevin assisted us with the resolution of a claim against a particularly difficult party who insisted on appealing multiple rulings against them. What should have been settled by reasonable business people or a single hearing about the facts of the case, the defendant and his attorney insisted on using every means possible to delay and draw out the process. Although this wasn't a huge claim, the issue was based on fraudulent billing by the defendant and we wanted to see it through the entire process on a moral basis. Kevin did a great job getting the defendant to court and making our side of the case clear. We prevailed and Kevin also assisted in collecting the judgement after the defendant began stalling after the judgement was rendered. I highly recommend Kevin for your business law concerns!

My neighbor was claiming ownership of a large piece of my property and had built a fence on it. Kevin Best review the claim with county property records and agree that I had ownership of the property. He review my property rights with me and suggest a plan of action to remove the fence and on keeping her from excising ownership of it. The plan was successful and the encroach fence was removed. Currently she is staying off the property.
Kevin was more then helpful when the Home Ownership Association question the fence removal. His knowledge of HOA convention rules were very helpful in responding to the Community Association.
I would hire Kevin again.

My experience with the Law Office of Kevin J. Best has been a very positive one and I plan on maintaining a professional relationship with this attorney.
I had been handling my particular case myself only to have it appealed (by the person suing me) twice and moved to different courts. The person has now filed their third and final appeal (allowed) with the court of appeals. I found myself in a situation where legal representation was a must. I had ten days to respond in writing to the writ of certiorari for the court of appeals. I needed an attorney-fast!
I googled attorneys and found Kevin J. Best, located in Annapolis. I was pleasantly surprised when Mr. Best personally answered the phone. I was immediately able to discuss my very complicated/time sensitive situation. I scheduled an immediate office appointment (2 hours) and fees were discussed during our phone conversation so there were no surprises. I felt Mr. Best was very reasonable. During the office visit Mr. Best very clearly explained and advised me with examples on how to respond to the writ of certiorari. Since I already had a rough draft of a response and Mr. Best was not familiar with the case to date he advised me to follow through myself to keep the cost down. I worked on my response at home-emailed it to Mr. Best the next day. Within hours he revised it and put it into legal format and emailed it back to me all prepared and ready to mail to the court.
This was above and beyond my expectations. All I had left to do was print, make copies and certify mail it to the court. I made the court deadline with days to spare and I filed the paperwork appropriately as required by this court's rules and guidelines- which I had no idea about. All with the help of my new attorney- Kevin J. Best. If needed Mr. Best will represent me at the court of appeals.
