I am so thankful that I had Andrea on my side as I went through the very difficult process of a very contentious divorce. Every divorce is unique and Andrea made sure she understood the laws around the issues that were unique to ours. She is very intelligent, thinks quickly, and presents her ideas concisely... very important skills to have in the fast-paced courtroom where each side isn't given much time to speak. Andrea is also very down to earth, so I always felt like she understood where I was coming from when I talked with her. Divorce is obviously a highly emotional process and Andrea did a great job of helping me to separate my emotions from the laws that applied to my situation... that's not always an easy one to do! Thanks to Andrea's knowledge and negotiating skills, we were able to settle our divorce through mediation which felt like a miracle given how differently my ex and I felt about our issues. In the end, I feel that we agreed to a fair settlement and now we can move on with a reasonable plan in place. When I first spoke to Andrea I was lost and hopeless. She was straight forward with no sugar coating and that's exactly what I wanted. She set goals for me to achieve and coached me through the entire custody battle. When you're in a custody battle it can be emotional and it's easy to get overwhelmed, she was like a friend, family and counselor all in one. So so grateful my best friend recommended Attorney Chavin to me. Haven’t needed to hire at this point, because we aren’t there yet. But definitely will if we have to. We’ve only consulted thus far, but his Bio is 100% true.
His number one concern is my well-being which not only makes him a great attorney in general but a special one as he cares about how you feel.
It’s especially helpful for someone dealing with a lot of trauma from the situation. (landlord tenant dispute).
I feel extremely safe being advised by him, a lot of lawyers do not care about you as a human, when every client needs that! Because nobody is talking to a lawyer without something bad happening to them and they’re hurting. I found Gary Avratin through a friend of a friend and immediately could tell that he would be the right advocate for me as I unraveled a 20+ year marriage. By the time I found Gary, I had been considering divorce for a couple of years so I’ve interviewed multiple other attorneys and a mediator. In each of those interviews I was quickly told that there was not much to be done, we would just split things 50/50, including time with our child. No one else bothered to listen to all the facts behind what I was seeking. Gary listened and then negotiated a fair settlement with the help of a mediator. The process was not simple but Gary used his determination and knowledge to push through it all with my best interests in mind.
I selected Gary because he is clearly a tough-as-nails litigator who will fight for his clients with passion and I knew I needed someone who could effectively do that for me. At the same time, Gary is ultimately seeking fairness and a final agreement that allows his clients to have a decent relationship with their ex so that that they can co-parent for years to come. That approach makes a difference because, because you don’t want to destroy the chances of being able to co-parent. By seeking fairness, Gary allowed me to walk away from the process with an amicable relationship with my ex.
Gary and his assistant, Helene, are incredibly busy but responded when I needed quick answers. When I reached out with more urgent matters, I got help within minutes. One has to remember that Gary and Helene are handling many, many other cases, and when they are working with a client, that client gets their 100% full attention. I have witnessed other attorneys who spend meetings texting and emailing about other cases and that is simply not how Gary operates. Also, they weren’t out to nickel and dime me; they did things that were important and checked what I sent them but they would suggest that I do a lot of the financial work myself to save time and money. They called with questions about the paperwork I sent to make sure I hadn’t made any mistakes or forgotten important details. Also of importance, is that Gary is very well known in eastern Massachusetts courts, especially Norfolk County, and he is well respected by judges, clerks, attorneys and mediators alike.
Divorce is not fun and it’s likely not easy for anyone. It’s important to find someone who can guide you through the process and prepare you to start the next chapter of your life. Gary made a tough situation better by caring about me and my child and how each element of the agreement could be the best outcome for us.

John was recommended to me by another attorney to handle a very difficult and complicated case. We have a lending company ,our client passed away but prior to his passing he took a very large deposit on this property from one of his employees on a promise that their would be a credit for that amount and she could purchase the property ,
Upon her employers death she decided that the property was hers and she became a squatter unable to buy the property but decided she owned it. The woman then decided our company and myself were responsible for her loss. She sued us for fraud, conversion of the funds, unjust enrichment and anything else she and her attorney made up.
Fast forward John Harkevy to the rescue. He analyzed the case and on 5 seperate actions against us won summary judgement in our favor on all 5. He then started an action for possession and back rent which we settled on favorable terms. Thankyou John who I would highly revomend for his knowledge and how well he handled such a difficult and complicated case.

My original attorney, who had very ably represented me, knew that there were remaining issues after the final ruling that would necessitate ongoing litigation. He was not keen on this, as he had developed an antipathy to my ex-wife.

My late father had a piece of property in Massachusetts that my siblings and I had to sell. None of us lived in state, and there was a considerable amount of legal work to do. We were lucky to find David. He took care of everything for us, even finding an excellent realtor. David was considerate and thoughtful, and treated us with respect while we were going through a difficult time. He kept us informed and guided us through the maze of court filings and probate hearings with great care. The bottom line is that we sold the property without having to come to Massachusetts even once; David even handled the sale. I would recommend David to anyone. Attorney Foster is a highly competent and experienced attorney that "gets it" from the client's perspective. She's direct and results driven, not interested in wasting your time and money. (The antithesis of lawyers who run out the clock speaking to issues of high emotion but little impart.)

Within one day I received a call from him and was so relieved. From the moment I heard his voice I knew he was the attorney for me.
