I learned about Esther Wang through the California Department of Aging Family Caregiver Resource Centers that provide free benefits to family caregivers. As Trustee of my mom’s estate, I retained Esther as my estate attorney in December, 2023, upon my mom’s passing. Fortunately, I also consulted with her a couple of months before my mom’s unexpected passing to review my mom’s estate documents.

Everything was fantastic! Staff kept me updated on the progress of my trust. Carey explained everything thoroughly and answered all of my questions. Carey made sure to give me all my options, and what each one meant. The office was so helpful in processing my documents a little quicker when I had an unexpected medical issue pop while in the process of finalizing my trust. Laura Butuke seems like a good lawyer and she partially is which is why I'm not giving her just one star. But when she had an opportunity to do some legal leg-work to ensure that our parents' house was passed from my father to my mother without reassessment after he died, she instead took the opportunity to get the house reassessed at market value and added to probate along with all of my father's other assets. I've asked multiple attorneys after the fact and they have all said the same thing: this could have been avoided.
Conveniently for her and her only, this added greatly to the lawyer fees that she charged us at the end of probate. This also means that we will now be paying $7,000 more per year in property tax for the rest of the time that we choose to own this house. Really greedy and sneaky BS. I do not recommend her services.

My wife and I recently wanted to create a living trust, along with new wills, powers of attorney, and health care directives. We chose Maria based upon the very many positive reviews she received on numerous websites.
We couldn't possibly be more pleased with our choice and Maria. She is exceptionally knowledgeable of probate, trust, and property law. Even more so, I had dozens of questions concerning the details of the above documents. She responded to my many emails usually the same day and with reassuring and understandable information. This office is an absolute joke. I made an appointment and dropped off all my new client paperwork in person the day of, only to be called approximately 1 hour prior to my appointment indicating they would be cancelling and rescheduling for 1 week later. Against my better judgement I waited the week, instead of seeking new counsel, only to be called 30 minutes prior to my appointment saying they would be conducting my 1 hour consultation over the phone. They were late calling me for the consultation and they had none of the paperwork I had dropped off at their office scanned in to the computer, and they informed me there was nobody in the office to see the paperwork. The one hour consultation lasted less than 30 minutes, during which I did most of the talking and Guneet Kaur informed me she would need more money to continue giving me service and, again, against my better judgement I filled out the requested paperwork authorizing her to charge my card. She proceeded to disappear for 3 days and did not respond to my calls or emails until I left a message over phone and email rescinding my authorization for her to charge my credit card and informing her I would NOT be retaining her as counsel. Collectively, her office is disorganized and unprofessional. She basically stole the $250 1 hour consultation fee, which she did not provide service in return for and wasted over a week of precious time, during which I should have been making progress on my case. I highly recommend you call, literally, anybody else.
Based on your petty and unprofessional response to my review, I wish to add "poor work ethic" to your list of undesirable qualities as an attorney.

Words cannot adequately express how grateful I am to Daniel K. Simon, Carolyn Layfield, and their entire staff. Originally, I injured my lower back lifting a bag of money. My employer refused to accommodate my injury. I became stressed so bad that I couldn’t explain what had happened to me. Somehow, Carolyn understood what I was saying and explained my legal position so I could understand it. “Cumulative Trauma Injury.” Carolyn made sure that I got the best Medical and Psychiatric care. She prepared me for both the Medical and Psychiatric Qualified Medical Examinations, as well as, my Deposition. Workers’ Compensation was fighting pretty hard to deny my benefits, but they were “NO MATCH” for Carolyn Layfield. Carolyn made sure I have a future. I called Michele out of the blue and she was able to take swift action. My situation was stressful to say the least, and after talking it over with her, she put my mind at rest. My husband, Tim & I, after a deaths of family members, have gone through both a Probate and a Living Trust, we decided having a Living Trust was what we wanted. We didn't think twice about who we were going to have help us put our documents in order. Eric Gullotta, just like his Dad, makes you feel like family the minute you step through his doors. We never felt rushed, we never felt like we asked a silly question or too many questions. Eric just sat back in his chair, very relaxed, and talked to us as long as it took. I was referred to Shirvanian Law Firm by a friend after being involved in a car accident, and I decided to entrust them with my case. One great thing about this law firm is that they offered chiropractic treatment as part of their service. When I mentioned that I wasn’t satisfied with the chiropractor, they arranged for me to see a better one, which improved my treatment experience.
It took about two years to reach a settlement, but I am satisfied with the compensation. Choosing to work with this law firm was definitely a good decision, and I recommend them for car accident cases.

Probate case. The first firm we hired was unresponsive, so we had to find a new one. Same thing with the second firm. Finally we hired Sandoval. Megan was responsive, knowledgeable, and most importantly: she actually took our case seriously. She kicked into gear right away to get our dad's house sold before it went to foreclosure. Despite the complexities that were out of her control, she kept the process moving and got through everything in a timely manner, diligently walking us through every step along the way.

Tom was my lawyer for a recent probate matter. I was impressed with his deep knowledge of the law and his ability to translate complex legal concepts into terms I could understand. I can't imagine going through our trust litigation without Mr. Dominick. I am so grateful for his invaluable help and council. As trustee, I was chosen to resolve the result of decades of family dysfunction that made me a target of unhappy family members. I had been renting a condo for a few years in San Francisco. When my landlord decided to sell, I was interested in buying the unit, and we reached out to Greg to help facilitate the for sale by owner sale.
Greg was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful! He was very clear and responsive in his communication and was able to answer any questions from either I or the seller. He set up a timeline at the very beginning of the process that both the seller and I were able to follow and focus on the next items relevant for each of us. Everything moved along so smoothly we even closed a bit early.
I would definitely reach out to Greg again for any future needs and recommend him to anyone I know in need of a real estate attorney!

Very pleased with Greg's service. Wife and I received an offer for a private sale of our home. We wanted the deal but didn't know how to get it done. We were stressed. Then we found Greg and our stress ended. From acceptance of offer through close of escrow, Greg took care of everything. He dealt with the buyer, he dealt with escrow, and he advised us on what we needed to do and sign. We required a fast closing, and Greg made it happen by keeping in constant contact with buyer and escrow, skillfully nudging them to keep on schedule. Greg was at all times responsive to my calls or emails, usually immediately. I'm a detail-oriented guy, and Greg was always accommodating of my "need to know." It was a pleasure working with Greg -- he is smart, efficient, and friendly.

Greg's clear instructions and ability to reply quickly to our questions made this unusual (for-sale-by-owner, no real estate agents) sale process very simple for us. He served as a resource for both Buyer and Seller in our case because we both felt comfortable with sharing.
Greg asked all the right questions at the intake interview, and followed up with initial documentation even before his first downpayment invoice. This timing gave both Buyer and Seller a confidence that he had our interests at the forefront.
I also like how he provides a free consultation and is clear about his fees if the clients decide to hire him. There are no superlatives high enough to represent my recommending Greg to assist with your FSBO.
Simply put: Greg is the Best!

I am a family law and criminal attorney. I know that my minor child would go to foster care if boyh parents die. I wanted to make sure that my son doesn't have such an awful experience. I had Keila draft my estate planning documents for me. What differentiates her from other estate planning attorneys is that she's also an asset protection attorney. For example, most estate planning attorneys would name their client's trust Smith Family Trust. She doesn't do this because it compromises anonymity. Other estate planning attorneys would have their clients open a trust account using their own social. Keila, on the other hand, would get a separate tax id for the trust to protect assets. Overall, I really enjoyed working with her!!
