My case has been dragging on for years. Though this may be the way it is in workers comp cases, I feel, at times, that Mr. Jacobs could be a little more aggressive getting things accomplished. That said, he has certainly stood up for my rights and has gotten many things approved. He certainly tries to do what is right, but, the law itself holds him back.

The Team at Brach Eichler did an excellent job overall. My attorney Corey Dietz worked tirelessly throughout the process to make sure I received fair compensation. Corey and his team answered all of my questions and explained the process effectively. They were always responsive to my questions/concerns, and explained what the timeline of the settlement and trial may be. They will also work with you to make sure you are happy with where things stand. Great job!

So I was supposed to be represented by Taylor Dibenedetto for a careless driving ticket. The day of court my attorney turned out to be someone else (female) not who I thought I was being represented by and settled the matter from a careless to an unsafe with a $500 fine. These people are a scam. Very incompetent and it’s like they didn’t even try. I could’ve gotten the unsafe driving on my own and saved the $300 I paid for this terrible attorney👎👎👎

Eager for injury case. Hired Brent, asked for John.Brent had haughty attitude&dismissive of specific questions but supposedly would fight for permanent bodily damage. One and only negotiation meeting was delegated to an underling.Brent did not consult with me.Underling did not fight for more but recommended to settled for 1/4 amount discussed. Very disappointed in his attitude, impersonal tone and lack of determined persistence in obtaining me the amount discussed. NoI was racked with pain and a family loss and wanted to trust a lawyer. Very disappointed in treatment of me as a client,of the openness of his intentions to not personally handle this case and of the lack of passion to pursue this case for another year or more for justice. Regret going there.

I am immensely grateful to Chris's team (Chris Olsen, attorney & Michelle Stasil, attorney's assistant) for their unwavering dedication and exceptional service over the past three years. Chris played a pivotal role in helping me get my professional license reactivated, demonstrating a level of commitment and expertise that exceeded all my expectations. From the very beginning, Chris showcased outstanding communication skills. He ensured that I was always well-informed about the progress of my case, promptly addressing any questions or concerns I had. His ability to coordinate and arrange online meetings with the professional board was instrumental in navigating the complexities of my case. Chris's representation during board meetings was exemplary. His thorough preparation and deep understanding of the legal intricacies were evident, and his persuasive advocacy on my behalf made a significant impact. Throughout this challenging process, he remained patient, supportive, and highly professional. I highly recommend Chris to anyone seeking legal assistance. This review is to respond from the claims Mr. Olsen put in his response regarding my previous review. Firstly, I would like to address his assertion that he was responsible for the dismissal of my case. It is important to clarify that the evidence proving the falsification of evidence by the Prosecutors office (not the federal authorities) was discovered by my wife and me. Mr. Olsen did not uncover any of this evidence. Additionally, Mr. Olsen mentioned that he would not handle my lawsuit, despite the fact that during our initial meeting, there was extensive discussion wherein he clearly indicated that either he or another member of his firm would handle the lawsuit. It is worth noting that my ability to pursue legal action was hindered because Mr. Olsen failed to file a tort notice with the state, causing the expiration of the statute of limitations for my case. Furthermore, Mr. Olsen's statement regarding the time it took to convince the prosecutor of the falsified evidence is inaccurate, as the evidence discovered by my wife was unequivocal. Moreover, every aspect of my case was mishandled by law enforcement, including the illegal execution of the search warrant. It appears that Mr. Olsen was collaborating with the prosecutor to mitigate the consequences of their errors. Notably, Mr. Olsen abandoned me when I sought assistance in retrieving my property, which had been unlawfully seized during the search warrant. To date, I have not received my property back, and Mr. Olsen has provided no assistance. His exact words, "I was hired to get your case dismissed, not to get your seized property back," were disheartening. It is my belief that when retaining an attorney for case representation, all aspects pertaining to the case should be within the scope of their responsibilities. I assert that Mr. Olsen's conduct is not only indicative of legal negligence, but also raises ethical concerns. I am prepared to substantiate all of these claims with indisputable evidence. Mr. Olsen, the truth will inevitably come to light, and you should reflect on your actions. Accountability will prevail, and you will be held responsible for your conduct.

I have worked with a handful of lawyers in my life, and although I didn’t end up going through with my case this time, I did have a great experience talking with Ms. Johnson about it. I found her to be very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and compassionate. She’s respectful but direct, which is actually a very difficult balance to maintain. Perhaps what I appreciated most about her was her constructive positivity, or maybe it’s better phrased, positive realism? I don’t know how to put this, but I think most people that live in American Society today will understand what I’m talking about: It’s so unhelpful to seek advice from people who blow sunshine and rainbows up your butt when the situation, as it stands, is not looking good and it needs to be addressed. Thanks to the things that Miss Johnson pointed out, I feel much more empowered to overcome my circumstances, albeit using a different path than I had previously imagined. I would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking help, especially those who wish to work with someone who treats them with dignity, empathy, and respect. Sadly, that is not a given anymore, and I just find it extremely valuable, definitely worth touting on the internet.

I had a consultation with Ms Johnson yesterday and I am so happy I did. Although we are not going to take the case further together, I am planning on keeping her name in my back pocket for other issues in the future future because out of all of the lawyers I’ve interacted with in my life, (which is more than I would care to remember) I think Miss Johnson is really unique. She is easy to talk to and really funny, but she’s also extremely smart and clearly knows what she’s talking about. She knew exactly what she was looking for and she was able to explain to me what was wrong with it and what i could do about it. She gave me a lot of useful information that I needed to know in order to at least give me a fighting chance. “Character is how you treat people who can't do anything for you in return.” Nelson Mandella

Incredibly terrible law office. Lack of communication is their biggest issue. My attorney changed 4 times and I was only notified once of the change. During my case I moved out of state and the office made a doctor’s appointment for me. In order to make that appointment I had to take off work and my husband had to take off a week of work (no pay) because we have animals and there was no one to watch them so we had to drive to NJ. When I get there, the doctor’s appointment is cancelled and no one notified me. We kindly asked for some kind of compensation because we just took a week off work with no pay for literally no reason, we were told “that’s not going to happen.” When I was supposed to originally receive my settlement check, it was expired bc the amount had changed from the beginning of the case. The paralegal who was working on that left the office and no one decided to continue her work. I called three different times and I was told every time that I would get the check by the end of next week (3 different weeks). Finally, (three months later) I spoke to someone in accounting and was told that my check isn’t ready yet, but it should be within 1-2 days. 30 minutes later, my attorney calls me and tells me that my check is currently on its way to me. I said how? The accounting dept just told me it’s not ready. He then said, well if that’s what they told you, go with that. Just the lack of communication and lack of truth are truly dumbfounding. I have never left a bad review in my life, but this whole time has been SO incredibly infuriating and frustrating and I am severely disappointed in the professionalism at this law office.

I have known Dan Snyder for over 15 years, both as an attorney, peer and friend. No one works harder to achieve the best possible results for their clients. As a wonderful family man, he knows how important it is to get his clients the justice and compensation they deserve to make life for them, and their families easier. Perhaps the greatest testimonial I can give another attorney is to refer people I care about to them--which I have done with Dan. If you are injured and are in need of an honest, hard-working, determined attorney to fight for you....look no further.

Let me explain very quickly before you look at all the other reviews of lawyers that are out there I'm starting to really understand why people think that they are the scum of the Earth and the games that they play I don't know which is worse insurance companies or law firms but to get to what I'm talking about my case was dropped from a serious car accident and I was uninformed how to adapt and how to work out any problems that were occurring they should have just told me up front that they weren't interested in the case and that my injuries weren't serious enough for them to handle but I had an accident occur and I know people that have had little or no injury at all and it made thousands of dollars so if you want to waste your time with the law firm that will give you the runaround you'll just be talking to assistance and voicemails all day then come here I've had a better time talking to my dog or taking them for a walk and picking up after them after the way I was treated as a no one the coming here instead of handling it like a man and calling me they send me a certified letter in the mail after a year of wasting my freaking time go somewhere else

In the aftermath of a near-fatal accident in 2022, I found myself embarking on a challenging recovery journey. Amidst the uncertainty and emotional turmoil, I sought legal guidance and found solace in the expertise of Michael R. Lombardi, of Lombardi & Lombardi, P.A. From the moment I entered his office, I was met with a comforting blend of warmth and professionalism. Michael’s attentive ear and compassionate demeanor immediately put me at ease as he delved into the intricacies of my case. What struck me most was his ability to navigate not only the legal intricacies but also the delicate nuances of my emotional state. As I journeyed through months of treatment and recovery, Michael stood as a steadfast pillar of support, offering guidance and reassurance every step of the way. His swift action and unwavering dedication alleviated much of the stress and uncertainty that accompanied my personal injury lawsuit. With each interaction, he imparted invaluable insights into the legal process of these types of cases, empowering me to make informed decisions for both the present, and the future. Throughout it all, Michael’s professionalism never wavered. Despite the emotional toll of the journey, he remained composed and punctual, demonstrating a deep understanding of the complexities of my case. More than just a legal representative, he became a trusted confidant and ally, offering support and guidance when I needed it most. In retrospect, my experience working with Michael R. Lombardi was nothing short of exceptional. His expertise, empathy, and unwavering support were instrumental in achieving a favorable outcome for my case. He promised, and over delivered. I am deeply grateful for his dedication and professionalism, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking legal representation.

I was injured at work in 2015, Mr.Ricciadelli responded quickly to my request to review my injuries. That was the ONLY TIME he responded quickly. There was never a time where I called the office after the initial meeting where I was able to speak Mr.Ricciardelli or get any answer about anything from his Staff. He runs his office on a need to know basic; meaning he does not allow his legal secretary or his Par-Legal answer any questions. This shows a lack of trust in his staff.. Ultimately, My case was awarded a Monterey amount but it was long 5 1/2 year’s. Ohh, I nearly forgot to say he threatened to Quit on me at worst time of my life. This happened after I pressed a bit for some answers and was met with the worst compassion I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Mr. Riccardelli knew at this point I was nearly broke and had to sell my house and move in order to survive. Lastly recently I emailed his office about changing my name/address after getting married, I asked his office to update their records also to please give me the information on how I can change my name and address in order to have my payments from the Workers comp insurance sent to my new address and guess what? Nothing no help at all. Calle any other ambulance chaser there is nothing special about His office.

Jack Smith was recommended to me. My experience with Jack was the worst He is ornery loud and obnoxious. He yelled at me on the phone and told me " You are out of line". Huh a line from a movie. . I sent him an email stating, I thought I hired a Pitbull not a poodle. I will no longer speak with Carolyn, since she has the professionalism of zero. Most likely his sister. Do not use this attorney. He is dishonest, I was told by Jack Smith he filed a claim with crime victim's fund. He never filed the claim. In conclusion Jack wanted me to settle for 75% ha explained this as winning the lottery . I refused and got 98%. Iam permanently disabled spinal fusion and spinal cord damage.

Regret going there.

incompetent law firm who did not even know the basic laws of the case, which were obvious to me. When corrected they didn't even bother to look up the law to verify. They would have clearly saw they were wrong and I did verify for them so they would know. They seem uninterested in this fact after it could no longer be used to blame me for something that was 100% not my fault. They did brag about how many cases like mine they have "represented" tho. You would think after "1000s of cases" like mine they would know the road laws. Also they treated the victim who they were meant to represent hostile for no reason in the second introductory meeting. the victim of the accident getting cruelly bombarded in an introduction meeting by who was meant to represent them as if they were the opposing counsel in trial is uncalled for. I was shocked. Twilight zone level of what was that? Seriously- made no sense. They are angry for no reason and projecting on anyone even who they were meant to take on as a client. It was not only a waste of time- it was absolutely a disgraceful way to get treated especially considering what the case is about. Victims who are 100% proven not at fault but wound up undeniably physically injured should not get further attacked especially by who was meant to represent them. Shameful way to treat a human. Scott Kessler practically screamed about a dozen times in a row in a way too intense and inhumane way that they were only there for the money. Anne Merritt was vicious for no reason spouting incorrect laws in the first minute I met her. They were lazy and took 2 months to even look over my case & then offered me help only if they could take 33% of the settlement with a letter. They did not want to earn their take if it came to trial. They only wanted the quick money. I did not want to spend another moment with these inhumane people. I seriously sat there in shock about how incompetent, lazy, and inhumane they were behaving. I have fought many legal battles. Your lawyer makes or breaks the case. This firm will break your case. Do yourself the favor and pass on them.

This firm have represented my entire family; from MVA and for personal legal matters like wills, real estate, and such - on numerous occasions. Harold has gone above and beyond to assist my father in the past. Similarly, John has repeatedly exceeded his call of duty, and represented my legal interests beyond expectations. They’re all a great team, and it’s good to know they are all backing you and have your best interests at heart.

Hired for a simple 20 minute virtual court session, spoke one word exactly, left her computer three times to work on other cases causing the judge to roll his eyes and waste tons waiting for her return. Most important! After three months delaying the requested fee itinerary for the $1000.00 retainer, she illegally added multiple unperformed fees totaling $1010.00. She did this deliberately to prevent upholding her own client rule stated on her site that any unused retainer payments will be refunded. During a personal live phone conversation with Toni Russo, I needed to prove more than once her negligence in fiduciary role I paid her for, proving she worked no more than exactly 12 minutes. She refunded me $500.00 and has been sending non stop bills accumulating interest based on the $10.00 she conjured up illegally. Currently i am working with the NJ Office of Attorney Ethics and US Bar Assiciation. Do NOT communicate with Toni Anne Russo on any matter!!

Unfortunately I was too deep into the process to switch attorneys. I physically handled and negotiated my case. Made copies, provided responses to other attorneys because Russo did not reply timely. The responses that were provided by the firm had another clients information. At one point I was emailed another clients entire divorce settlement. I was also mailed a copy of the same parties personal information. She drags everything out as long as possible to keep collecting, review your bills carefully as I found over $1K in discrepancies for meetings or phone calls which never took place. I was billed for services performed by the paralegal (Amanda) where they tried to attach the attorneys hourly rate. Overall terrible experience, other attorneys do not respect her which was evident.

What a Workers’ Compensation Lawyer Can Do for You

A workers’ compensation lawyer specializes in helping employees who are injured or become ill as a result of their job to receive the benefits they are entitled to under workers' compensation laws. These lawyers represent injured workers in claims for medical benefits, wage replacement, and other compensation related to workplace injuries or illnesses. They also help when claims are denied, benefits are delayed, or disputes arise with the employer or the insurance company.

Whether you've been injured on the job, developed an occupational illness, or are dealing with a denied workers' compensation claim, a workers’ compensation lawyer can help you navigate the claims process and ensure you receive the full benefits you deserve.

When Should I Hire a Workers' Compensation Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a workers' compensation lawyer in several situations, especially when complications arise during the claims process or when your rights as an injured worker are being challenged. Some common reasons to hire a workers' compensation lawyer include:

  • Claim denial: If your workers' compensation claim has been denied, a lawyer can help you appeal the decision and represent you in hearings or litigation.
  • Inadequate benefits: If the insurance company offers you a settlement that doesn’t cover your medical expenses, lost wages, or other damages, a lawyer can negotiate on your behalf for a fair amount.
  • Delay in receiving benefits: If your benefits are being delayed, a lawyer can help expedite the process to ensure you receive timely compensation.
  • Permanent disability: If your injury leads to permanent disability (partial or total), a lawyer can help you navigate the more complex process of securing long-term benefits.
  • Retaliation by employer: If your employer retaliates against you for filing a workers' compensation claim (e.g., by firing or demoting you), a lawyer can protect your rights and pursue legal action.
  • Third-party liability: If a third party (e.g., a contractor or equipment manufacturer) was responsible for your injury, a lawyer can help you pursue additional compensation through a personal injury lawsuit.
  • Pre-existing conditions: If your employer or the insurance company claims that your injury is related to a pre-existing condition, a lawyer can help you present evidence showing that the injury was work-related.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can prevent delays, avoid mistakes, and ensure you receive all the benefits you’re entitled to under workers' compensation law.

What Does a Workers' Compensation Lawyer Do?

A workers' compensation lawyer provides a range of legal services to injured workers, ensuring that they receive the benefits they deserve. Their tasks often include:

  • Filing claims: Helping injured workers prepare and file their workers' compensation claims to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Appealing denied claims: Representing workers whose claims have been denied and guiding them through the appeals process, including hearings and court appearances.
  • Negotiating settlements: Negotiating with insurance companies to secure fair compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages.
  • Handling disputes: Resolving disputes between the injured worker, the employer, and the insurance company regarding the amount of compensation or the nature of the injury.
  • Coordinating medical evidence: Gathering and presenting medical records, expert testimony, and other evidence to support the workers' compensation claim.
  • Advocating for benefits: Ensuring that injured workers receive all the benefits they’re entitled to, including temporary or permanent disability benefits, vocational rehabilitation, and medical treatment.
  • Filing third-party lawsuits: In cases where a third party is responsible for the injury, a workers' compensation lawyer may also pursue a personal injury lawsuit to recover additional damages.

How Are Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Paid?

Workers' compensation lawyers typically charge a contingency fee, meaning they only get paid if they successfully recover benefits for you. This fee is usually a percentage of the benefits awarded, and the specific percentage is often regulated by state law. Here's how it generally works:

  • Contingency fee: The lawyer's fee is typically between 15% and 25% of the total benefits awarded to you. You don’t have to pay any upfront legal fees, and the lawyer’s fee comes out of the settlement or benefit award.
  • No fee if no recovery: If the lawyer doesn’t recover any benefits for you, you generally don’t have to pay for their services.
  • State regulations on fees: Many states cap the percentage that workers' compensation lawyers can charge, and some states require the fee to be approved by the workers' compensation board or judge.

Be sure to discuss the fee structure with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand how much you will owe if your case is successful.

How Much Does a Workers' Compensation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a workers' compensation lawyer typically depends on the contingency fee arrangement, meaning the lawyer’s fee will be a percentage of the benefits you receive. General cost estimates include:

  • Contingency fees: Most workers' compensation lawyers charge between 15% and 25% of the total settlement or benefits awarded. For example, if you receive $50,000 in benefits, the lawyer’s fee would range from $7,500 to $12,500.
  • State regulations: Some states limit the percentage that workers' compensation lawyers can charge. In these cases, the fee is usually capped, often at 20% to 25%, depending on state law.
  • Additional costs: Some lawyers may charge for out-of-pocket expenses, such as filing fees, medical records retrieval, and expert witness testimony, though these costs are typically deducted from the settlement after the case is won.

You should always ask for a clear explanation of fees and potential additional costs during your consultation so you understand the financial arrangement.

Top Questions to Ask a Workers' Compensation Lawyer

Before hiring a workers' compensation lawyer, it’s important to ask the right questions to ensure they are the best fit for your case. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What experience do you have with workers' compensation cases?
Ensure the lawyer has experience handling cases similar to yours, especially if your injury is severe or the case involves disputes.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee and whether there are any additional costs you need to be aware of.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case, including the potential challenges and outcomes.
  4. Have you handled cases like mine before?
Find out if the lawyer has experience dealing with cases involving similar injuries or disputes, such as denied claims or permanent disability.
  5. How long will the process take?
While it’s difficult to predict an exact timeline, the lawyer should be able to provide a general estimate based on their experience with similar cases.
  6. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior attorneys or paralegals may handle parts of your case. Make sure you know who will be working on your claim.

How to Check the Credibility of a Workers' Compensation Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable workers' compensation lawyer, follow these steps to verify their credentials and track record:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing, with no disciplinary actions against them.
  • Look for workers' compensation experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in workers' compensation law and have successfully handled cases similar to yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for client reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s expertise and service.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their experience in workers' compensation cases.
  • Check for professional affiliations: Membership in organizations like the Workers' Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG) or local bar association committees on workers' compensation can indicate the lawyer’s commitment to this area of law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with a workers' compensation lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Accident report or incident documentation: Bring any documentation related to your workplace injury or illness, including accident reports or notifications to your employer.
  • Medical records: Provide copies of medical records, including treatment notes, doctor’s reports, and any information related to your injury or condition.
  • Employer correspondence: Bring any letters, emails, or forms related to your claim from your employer or the workers' compensation insurance company.
  • Wage and benefits information: Provide information on your wages, benefits, and any lost income due to the injury.
  • List of questions: Prepare questions about your case, the process, costs, and what to expect moving forward.
  • Timeline of events: Prepare a timeline of the incident, your injury, and any medical treatment or communication with your employer and the insurance company.

Being well-prepared for your consultation will allow the lawyer to assess your case more effectively and provide you with the best possible legal advice.
