As a requirement of my private disability policy from my former employer, I had to apply for SS Disability in my second year of getting benefits from that private policy. Mr. Bertics was informative, made the paperwork seamless including the required documentation from my physicians, compassionate and understanding, very generous with his time, extremely patient, and responsive. He's passionate about his work and helping others and I'm not sure I've met a kinder attorney who is also extremely effective. I can't recommend him enough!

I was a nurse and had to undergo hip replacement. Being overwhelmed with the process of applying for disability, my neighbor recommended using disability attorney Michael Bertics. Had the pleasure of working with Mr Williams. Upon his hiring, he was very thorough in explaining all details to the processes we had to go through as well as actions to be taken. He remained in touch with me to provide updates. Documents were frequently sent for my own review and he always remained responsive during the entire time. He had his work cut out for him due to the case having many obstacles and I was not sure of the outcome. However, Mr Williams remained confident and pursued every conceivable option on my behalf. In the end, he was able to obtain a healthy settlement for me which I did not think possible. I am very grateful I decided to work with this firm. My son and I were hit by a drunk driver on Interstate 40. My truck flipped and we were both pretty banged up. The insurance company wanted to say that the drunk driver didn’t have permission to use the car he was in and weren’t going to pay anything to me or my son. We hired Doug to take over the case, and within a month he not only got the insurance company to agree to pay, he got them to pay all the money they had on the policy to us.
Without Doug we wouldn’t have gotten a thing. He’s a great lawyer and a really nice guy.

I was involved in a very serious automobile accident that has required me to have 10 surgeries up to now. If it would not of been for Jeannette and her associates , I don't know what my family and I would have done or where we would of ended up. The Kid that hit me had Nationwide Insurance and believe me when I tell you, "Nationwide is not on your side" when it comes to doing the right thing. They did everything they could to intimidate me and my family. Nationwide hired the biggest law firm in Raleigh , Jeanette never once backed down and made me feel safe. Her knowledge of the law was very impressive, but what was even more impressive was her work ethic and her compassion for someone that was almost killed by someone that was racing to get home so he and his dad could go fishing. She was constantly on the phone with me and or emailing me. I gave Jeannette the nik name of "King Kong Congdon" because she stood her ground for what was right against one of the biggest insurance companies in the nation. I will never forget the long hours of work she put in. I would get emails from her at 2:30 in the morning. Having her on my side made all the difference in the world.
I unfortunately have been disabled from this accident and have now hired her to help get my Social Security Disability. If anyone is in need of a lawyer that wont B.S. you and will fight for you, then do yourself a favor and call her and find out for yourself.

Mr. Lucas helped me win a temporary custody case involving my granddaughter in 2016. My daughter was in an abusive relationship which affected both her and my granddaughter. Mr. Lucas was smart, polite, compassionate and knowledgable. He helped me gain custody of my granddaughter and also gave me advice on how to help my daughter get back on her feet after an abusive relationship. I was desperate for help trying to obtain emergency custody of my granddaughter, I called every family law attorney in Johnston County and Mr Lucas was the only attorney to call me back. He called the same day. He had me come in and the next day I had my temporary order. After a year and being in and out of court, I know have custody and not just temporary. I have permanent custody of my granddaughter. He was by our side and he kept his word. He is a very sincere and compassionate man. After searching through several attorneys in the area (I lived out of state but my children lived in NC with my x-husband), I came into contact with Mr Lucas. This man took my case, showed me respect, gave me my dignity back and worked dogmatically at getting my kids back from my x who had them for 8 years while I spent most of that time overseas.
My sons were in a very neglectful environment, they were not cared for properly and after 8 years of representing myself in court, obtaining 5 attorneys and firing 4 I was amazed and taken aback by how hard he had worked on my case. He never once gave up or blew me off because my finances were tight.
We went against a family who had money and was well known in the area. Even with the things I had against me Leon respected my integrity and fought for my sons relentlessly....we won.
This man is a gift from God. My records are public and can be reviewed by the public with regards to my child custody case. If you want the truth about how this man works and the caliber of character he has feel free to review my case and all of the evidence that was stacked against me.
One last thing....when my x and his new attorney tried to bring 9 false charges and accusations against me recently...3 years after Leon and I won custody, Leon appeared out of no-where and represented me again.

Having first used Mr. Boyan over twenty five years ago I have yet to see any other, consistently of the same calibre in all areas needed to obtain excellent results. I am a high school teacher working with a student who is facing court proceedings for a minor infraction, and had no support from his family who now live out of state and told him to leave, go back to Salisbury and not to come back until he had completed his community service and the final court date. The student's parents are undocumented and this 16 year old had a tough life growing up with dysfunctional parenting. I took him in temporarily and with the help of my mother, a retired teacher, we have been looking at ways he could avoid going back to his parents' who don't really want him there. With little money as a school teacher (!), Mr. Morris was kind enough to give me some direction that was VERY helpful. I will never hesitate to use only Jeff's legal services in the future if I need them unless he refers me to another attorney. I highly recommend this attorney who is very knowledgeable on many topics and also has a heart. You always hope to find an attorney with heart when you are facing a difficult situation. Attorney Sumner was referred to me by a Miami lawyer to handle a workers' compensation case for me.
