I was never married to my ex, we had actually had a child together and were fighting over custody of my daughter. A year up until we went to mediation my ex never paid child support instead only spend approximately $200 a month on diapers, wet wipes and formula and I paid for her child care and other essentials by myself including a house for us to live in and not once did he help. I never once withheld my daughter from my ex, he got see her twice a week with an over night stay. He got jealous of the man I was with and decided to take me to mediation to "protect his rights to his child." I was scared, especially since with him not paying child support and helping with anything he had a lot more money than I did to go through with everything. He only started helping to make himself look good just in case we had to go to court. I researched lawyers around my area when I finally came up with enough for a retainer and found Meriwether and Tharp. Mr. Leh Meriwether and his wonderful staff at the Woodstock location were extremely helpful in my situation both financially and tactfully. They never once hindered my case when I couldn't come up with the money, like my ex's lawyer did. Instead they carried through and helped me out in so many ways. They were not once nasty to the opposing party but were firm with the whole situation. In situations like mine when the relationship between the two opposing parties was a horrible one before separation, it is hard to be mutual, respectful and cordial with one another. Mr. Leh and his staff taught me how to talk to my ex and how to handle situations in a very tactful and respectful way instead of being rude or very ugly. After the visitation mediation my ex and his lawyer went "quiet" and never once pursued to schedule the child support mediation hoping I would give up or run out of money. Mr. Leh and his staff then took action against them, filing a Motion to Compel and setting up a time on the Calendar for a court hearing. In the end my ex broke down and gave up some of his visitation time and now has to pay the amount of Child Support he should of paid in the past, 55% of our daughters Child Care and having to pay half of my attorney fees for dragging the case for as long as he did. I could not have been any more pleased with this law firm for everything that they have done for me. They don't look at you just as a client but as a person as well. I highly recommend them to anyone who has been through the same situation as mine.

I have utilized the legal services of Meriwether and Tharp several times over the last six years and I have always been completely satisfied with the outcome. In divorce and child custody there really is no 'winner', but I've always come out of my situations better than I could have hoped, due in large part to Leh Meriwether and Elizabeth Doak.
