I feel a lot more confident about my estate having worked with Stuart to develop a living trust. He has a very comprehensive and methodical approach that helps you not only organize, but make good decisions. Stuart takes time with you to explain options clearly. His caring and personal approach made me feel comfortable. I am especially grateful for the follow up calls and willingness to advocate for me. Having just settled my mothers trust as a trustee through her lawyer, I can say Stuart is light years ahead in estate and trust planning. I highly recommend Family Wills & Trusts. (P.S. My wife and I had a positive and meaningful experience with Family Wills & Trusts, PLC. Putting together a Will and a Living Trust had eluded us for ten years, excuses were abundant, each year became next year. Entering it our 60’s, my wife and I could no longer postpone this critical step in our lives. It was time to act. Stuart Williams (Family Trust Lawyer) has a very favorable approach, beginning with an initial phone consultation, followed by an information gathering activity, then an in-person visit to discuss a best fit plan for our needs. Along the way there are email exchanges on various details of our wishes, followed by another in person visit for document sign off, later delivered to us in a four-inch binder. This binder of legal documentation will act as our playbook to represent our medical and financial interests, avoiding legal red tape and the long agony of Probate. I thoroughly enjoyed the open discussion with Stuart and the candid means of how he took a sincere interest in our wellbeing. He helped me understand the pitfalls of having only a Will and designed a Trust that would ensure my children would not have to spend time and money trying to navigate the legal world and probate court to settle my estate. My final wishes are clearly laid out in the Trust and my children understand the details in it. I have worked hard and sacrificed for many years to build an estate that I want to pass to my children one day. Working with Stuart to establish our family trust was a perfectly smooth experience. The timing of our first meeting coincided with the beginning of the pandemic, and Stuart quickly adapted to our new reality and made it very easy to continue the process by sharing documents online and meeting on Zoom for the necessary follow-ups. Where to begin? Literally, one year ago, to the day, we found ourselves in need of an attorney for our son, who had been picked up and charged with two VERY serious felonies. Kareem's name was given to us from another attorney. We contracted him and he was at our house the next day, and we live in Monroe. We knew he was our attorney within minutes of starting the conversation. Has a commanding presence, and comes across very confident. He left our home, went straight to the court to file, and went to see our son, who was in Wayne County. Even our son, nervous of course, was very pleased with the way Kareem came across, reassuring our son that he had his back. We get through the lower court, knowing it was going to end up at Frank Murphy. Kareem was not worried. From day 1, at trial, Kareem's presence was felt. He did exactly what you would hope your attorney would do...he stood his ground, not backing down from the prosecutor, nor the judge. He really was in his groove, and you could see it! Kareem fought hard...fought eloquently...and fought with knowledge. Was reciting past cases, for reference points... he was quoting laws, verbatim...it was really incredible. In the end, our son was acquitted of the initial charges, but the judge allowed the jury to "find guilty of a lesser charge". If you truly need a solid attorney, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kareem Johnson. He is the guy you want in your corner.

Stuart is not only extremely knowledgeable and thorough, but he is very easy to talk to. This enables you to share your concerns, and allows him to address them effectively. We are in a time with a lot of uncertainty with respect to estate planning strategies, due to potential changes in the law. Stuart gave us a plan that can address all potential eventualities. During the process, we would email him with questions prompted by our Google browsing for estate planning strategies. His replies were timely and always surprisingly thorough. He proved himself to be aware of every benefit or pitfall. We’ve had dealings with other estate planning attorneys. The difference is that Stuart develops a plan for you, not like, for example, the off the shelf plan that was offered to us by another attorney after a 30 minute phone consultation. As a bonus, he is relatively young and anchored to the Lansing area, so he will likely be here to assist our family, when that time comes. Highly recommended
