My experience of working with Jeffrey was very positive. He was recommended to me by a friend, and it was a good recommendation. Jeffrey had experience of Canadian estate law, which was very helpful for my situation. He helped me to effectively understand and distribute some Canadian property that was not dealt with in my grandmother's will. It was a complicated situation because many generations had passed, and the property had to be distributed to multiple generations of heirs. Jeffrey's knowledge, prompt attention, and trustworthy demeanor helped make this a good experience for me and for extended family. I would highly recommend Jeffrey to my friends, family and colleagues.

We chose this firm because it is small and suits our needs. We felt comfortable with the staff. With Katherine's thoughtful and knowledgeable assistance, we were able to fulfill our goals in updating our trust documents. Katherine's engaging personality contributed to our pleasant experience. The experience of creating a professional will was incredibly easy, due to the work and professionalism of Mrs. Hespen. Amanda's email communication was timely, clear and very professional.The firm made it incredibly easy to put together a will, when we started out not knowing anything about wills and estate planning. Being that this firm specializes in wills and estate planning, it was a no-brainer to work with lawyers who specialize in this area of life. My wife and I were referred to Jeffery Scott & Associates by fellow physicians for our estate planning needs. They executed this process to perfection in an easy-to-understand, practical and sensitive manner, which if done in any other way, could be intimidating and even scary given the nature of planning for ones disability or death.

I have known Jeffrey Scott for almost 10 years, and it has been my pleasure to know him both professionally and personally. When both of my parents passed away within 100 days of each other, Jeffrey was the epitome of compassion for our situation as well as expertise. From seeing how well he worked with all of us (six siblings!) while settling my parents' estate, I decided to have Jeffrey also do my estate. My sister and brother-in-law and my son have also contacted Jeffrey for legal matters. In 2012, I needed legal advice in an unemployment issue. I first sought out counsel with Jeffrey, and after kindly listening to my case, he told me that he was not the one to take it--that he was not qualified. Instead he gave me the name of a colleague that he thought would do an excellent job. His recommendation was exactly what I needed. What I found remarkable was that Jeffrey could have kept me as a client and earned more income; but he did not. His integrity and utmost professionalism has made me one of his biggest cheerleaders. A few months back while chatting with a longtime friend about my need to get an estate plan in place, he referred me to Amanda at Jeffrey P. Scott & Associates. My wife and I had a few areas to address including a purchase of a home, long term care of a family member, and general estate planning. Amanda did an excellent job in listening to us making notes of our concerns and wishes for us and our children. More importantly, she asked questions that we just simply would not have thought of. While professional and organized in her approach, Amanda was genuine with us and in her desire to represent us through such difficult topics. We couldn’t be happier with how the process went and of the end product. It is very comforting knowing we have our house in order and our estate taken care of. We have and will continue to refer Amanda to all of our friends and colleagues.

Jeff was very helpful and explained everything thoroughly to me. I was not at all familiar with this type of law and had many questions. Jeff was very patient and I felt very confident about my will when I left the office. This was a very positive experience and I would recommend Jeff to anyone looking for a will or trust.

We contacted the Jeff Scott office upon the recommendation of a friend. We wished to have an estate plan developed and update our will. We worked with Katherine Wertheim Iacarella, one of the associates in the office. The process was straightforward and efficient. Katherine was very knowledgeable and assured of the process and associated laws, and the various options of how to approach the details of the estate plan. There was no cost to the initial meeting, and the fee structure to accomplish the estate plan was a flat fee, all costs clearly explained up front, no surprises. I called a couple other estate planning attorneys to compare the fee with other offices, and the fee quoted by Katherine was more reasonable than any other fee I was quoted by other offices, and it was difficult to find other offices who were willing to have a package fee (instead they seem to charge per item and were non-specific about the exact fee per item and not willing to give a total amount). The transparent and packaged fee structure is one of the key advantages of working with this office. I would definitely recommend this office for your will and estate planning needs.

We used Katie (Katherine Wertheim Iacarella) to update our documents that were initially done by Jeffrey Scott, who was also great to work with. We knew we would return to that firm. Katie was very professional & at the same time warm & approachable. Her suggestions for some changes in wording on our existing docs were very helpful & would make the process easier for our 2 grown children to do the necessary tasks when the time comes. They do not both live in MN, so this was a good suggestion. Katie read personalities & situations very well & used a sense of humor to defuse a potentially explosive situation, followed by very clear, concise explanations of the importance of avoiding probate. I would highly recommend Katie to anyone as a very competent estate planning atty. She made it a pleasant experience, despite challenges.

I cannot say enough about Amanda as a person and an attorney. I work with attorneys on a daily bases as a part of my business. Amanda and her firm are different in that they are there to help you and your family making sure your estate affairs are in order. While many attorneys try to be all things, this firm specifically deals with estates and related matters. Amanda is an excellent listener and helps families work through decisions that are very often very difficult to have a conversation about. She has done and amazing job as our families estate attorney. We have attorneys for many other areas of life and business, but Amanda and her firm will continue to handle our estate affairs and be the one we refer all our colleagues, family and friends to. It's a simple phone call, which could easily begin the process to change your legacy.
