They handled my husband's case from an accident where he was rear-ended, just fine. That is not the reason for the bad review. The settlement was paid by the at fault party's insurance. Back in June of 2024 we sent a letter to this law firm saying we weren't pursuing an addition claim against our own insurance. The claim was never closed by the firm and we are facing an additional $1300 surcharge added to our auto insurance premium because the claim remains open. Our insurer said we cannot close the claim; it has to be done by our attorney. We have called 6 times this month and they have done nothing to close the claim. We called again today and they said give us a few more days "to look into it;" not actually contact our insurance company. Our auto premium is due very soon and being on a fixed income, we cannot afford the extra $1300. The surcharge would be cancelled if this office would just do its job and contact the insurance company. It's been over 6 months since we made our wishes known in writing and we're still trying to get them to take care of what should be a quick and simple matter. The insurance company will not let my husband request the claim be closed. He has repeatedly told this office that the claim can only be closed by them directly contacting the insurance company and requesting it. He just heard back from this office saying to send our insurance the letter we sent in June, asking them to handle this. He has given them the open claim number. We cannot understand why they cannot just simply call, email or mail them asking them to close the claim as we requested? I will revise this to a more favorable review, if they take immediate action to close the open claim against our insurer. This shouldn’t be this difficult!
