In June I found myself in a situation that required me to find legal counsel. My husband got physical with me following an argument. I ran to our bedroom and called 911 as he put his hand through our door. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s office showed up after what seemed like an eternity. When they attired, my husband met them outside. To date I cannot comprehend what the the deputies were thinking because I was arrested after calling for help. Apparently my husband’s lies convinced her that I assaulted him and my daughter. He even added that I racked a 9mm and “almost” pointed it at him…
I was arrested and in jail for the night. I started to panic and was terrified about potentially losing my job and/or licensing through the state in addition to losing my CPL & 2nd amendment rights. I was initially charged with felony felonious assault and a few other things that I do not recall.
I started looking & researching who to hire to sort this mess out.
Attorneys need to be convincing. I had talked to a dozen of them & all I heard were the same lines- like a salesman working for commission. A few of them sat ok in my stomach. But that was the problem… they were ok. When there is so much on the line mediocre is not what I was willing to accept.
I reached out to a trusted attorney that I had worked with previously on a civil matter from Warner Norcross + Judd. He referred me to Michael Bartish. I began digging into reviews & searching for articles about him. I reached out to SBBL Law. It didn’t take long for Michael to return my call.
After speaking with Michael over the phone I knew he was the guy. He was direct yet empathetic. He listened to what was important to me and the fears I had. He was reassuring without over promising any sort of result. He never said any of the lines I’d heard from the previous attorneys who seemed to not be genuine.
Over the course of about 2 months Michael walked me through the process, explained everything so that I understood. I could feel he was vested in this fight with me from our first court appearance. His presence and confident demeanor brought me peace at some of the most emotional times I had faced in a long time. Michael included me in every aspect of the case and looked to me to make the decisions on plea deals that were offered. He supported my decision to go to trial. He still never promised a winning result but his confidence gave me the confidence to fight this.
I had never watched a jury selection. The jurors likely never were jurors before. Watching Michael educate the jurors while assessing their ability to be impartial for the anticipated trial was nothing short of impressive. He has power in his voice & not the sort that’s disrespectful or arrogant.
At hearings Michael made clear arguments backed by law. He crushed every move the prosecution attempted. He has passion and speaks with a dominance you only see with true experience.
The prosecution ended up dismissing the case because any headway they attempted was shattered by Michael. This was a huge win for us!!! Michael and I joked that it was a bit disappointing not going to trial. Watching him in the courtroom and knowing his abilities I felt it would be a sure win and that it would put the prosecutor in his place even more.
If I ever need a defense attorney he 100% will be my guy without hesitation! I would recommend him to anyone needing help with a case.

BEST LAW FIRM.
Hi everyone, my name is Karen. I have had an accident on last year in LA.I was driving a rental vehicle and the rent a car company was suing me for that accident.
I have talk you more than 50 lawyers, and only Greg took the case.

"Wild accusations, sloppy detective work, overworked understaffed DA office's "charge first-investigate later" approach got me arrested. My life turned upside down. Lost reputation, job, visa, savings, and property due to unsubstantiated allegations. Luckily, I hired Top rated attorney Riccardo earlier on after doing free initial consultation. He explained everything very clearly. He worked diligently with the detective to prevent charges from being filed; however, the prosecutor's office didn't consider the information Riccardo was giving them. They went ahead and charged me. Based on the facts of my case, Riccardo said I should not have been charged in the first place and will get the charges dismissed ASAP. He delivered on his promise. The case was dismissed well before the preliminary hearing stage. Riccardo and his partner are working on getting the records sealed/motion for factual innocence. I strongly recommend him, he can and will get the best outcome based on the facts of your case. This dude responded to all my queries via email in minutes even on long weekends. I am extremely pleased with his work.I will add an update about record sealing/Factual Innocence in the next few months. On the phone he mentioned good things like getting the best results for me possible and possibly getting the charges dropped. All good things you want to hear as a person searching for an attorney but that's not how it went. This guy showed up late to every single one of my court dates by half and or more. He pretty much just showed up to do what I was supposed to do, which is stand before the judge and respond to his requests. I have a prior criminal record so I wasn't expecting him to make magic but at least show up to my court date on time which he did not. All matters were called first who had attorneys but sure enough mine waited until he got there. I feel I would've gotten the same results without him for sure as he did very little communicating with the DA or anyone on the other side of the podium. To top it off on my last court date after not seeing him for over half an hour I called his firm and they informed me he was in redwood city helping someone else. Seriously not cool at all or professional. So they sent another attorney from his office but not until an hour and a half from when the court started. I'm not here to complain about my outcome from the court cause that was a separate issue but i am here to complain about the unprofessional relationship I had with Mr. Valencia and how I will never recommend or reach out to them again. So save your money or go elsewhere because I wasted $4000 for something I could've and should've done myself. Last but not least I think it's very unprofessional how in most of the reviews that are not favored to them they put the person on blast for the previous case they had with them. That's very rude, unprofessional and down right dirty. If they do not like the truth being put in the reviews then maybe they should not be practicing law and giving people false hope. So I won't be surprised if I see information about my case they handled on here based on the responses to reviews that aren't in their favor.

In November last year, based on online reviews, I started consulting with Riccardo. At the beginning, he was quite patient. I consulted several lawyers and eventually chose him based on online reviews and his claim during the consultation that there was a 99% chance of winning the case. I felt relieved to leave the case to him. However, after we paid him, he stopped communicating and never proactively kept in touch.
At first, I thought my case was not a big deal until I was charged and realized the seriousness of the situation. I spent money consulting another lawyer online, who advised me to write a character letter and resume before being charged, which could have helped. But Riccardo never asked me to do anything besides providing basic materials. He was also unwilling to communicate proactively, and I didn't dare to keep asking him questions. Whenever I had questions, they were relayed through his assistant.
Throughout this period, he didn't inform me of what he was doing, and I had no idea about his actions until my case became more severe. He didn't help me much during the whole process and even made excuses, saying the DA was too young to understand family difficulties, which made me feel he was very unprofessional. I had trusted him because he claimed to have 30 years of experience.
After my case resulted in a conviction, I didn't disrespect him until a week ago when I asked if he could attend court on that day. He agreed, and I was very grateful. But today, when I asked him, he angrily told me he was very busy. He could have refused me or informed me earlier. Instead, he made a lot of excuses.
I swear that this person is really unprofessional, and I even doubt if those positive reviews about him are real. I know that when someone makes a mistake and needs professional help, they might go online and look at reviews. If you don't want to waste your time and risk losing your case, you really need to be cautious and not rely solely on ratings. From my experience, sometimes they are not reliable. This is my personal experience working with this person, and I hope to share it with those who need help. I fully understand your feelings, but it's crucial to be careful when choosing a lawyer.

He took the case but did nothing to help, he knew the court would rule in alignment the mediators recommendation. He showed up to court and delayed the proceeding by 4 hours to milk the hourly rate. He asked the judge for breaks to talk to me and the other party then started to make request on behalf of the other party. I wish I knew Iim advance he would be of no assistance, money down the drain. The other party made false allegations and scheduled an emergency hearing under false pretenses. I would not recommend Pamela Branch as an attorney. I sought her help with a discrimination case over a year ago, and the experience has been extremely frustrating. Over the past two years, her communication has been nearly non-existent. I had to continuously follow up just to get basic updates. We filed a case with the Office of Civil Rights almost two years ago, and every time I asked for an update, she claimed she hadn’t heard anything back from them.
Today, I decided to call the Office of Civil Rights myself, only to find out that they had already investigated my case. Yet, I never received any notification or email from them, nor did I hear anything from Pamela. To make matters worse, I tried emailing her and received no response, and her phone number is either blocked or disconnected. This lack of professionalism and communication is unacceptable, and I regret trusting her with such an important matter.

I submitted a request for a consult for a civil matter in early July 2024 and heard back from who I would assume is their front desk staff and/or paralegal that my info was sent on to the attorney. I never heard from the attorney. A month later I followed up by email as that had been the original method of communication asking when I should expect to hear back and never received a response. It's now mid-September 2024.
