I was arrested for first time DWI with a high BAC in Collin county, TX. I originally hired a ‘big name’ DWI lawyer in Dallas. After 7 months of working on my case, they were unable to get any time taken off the prosecutors original offer. The prosecutor also refused to take my clean criminal record into account and drop my charge to a class b deferred. So I asked around and heard that Doug was the guy who gets things done in Collin County. I decided that a positive outcome was important enough to eat the retainer fee from my first attorney and ended up hiring Doug and the Wilder Law Firm. Based on Doug’s process and relationship with prosecutors in Collin Co, he was able to get my high BAC charge dropped down to a class B deferred - which the first lawyer I hired said was impossible. The prosecutor even gave me credit for some of the time served with the interlock device, based on Doug’s persistence and strategic thinking. Hiring Doug and The Wilder Firm ended up being the difference between having to take a Class A and deal with a conviction forever, vs a Class B deferred where I now have the opportunity to learn from my mistake and move on with life without a criminal record.
