We hired Richard to help us navigate a complex business contract. Richard took the time to make sure we understood every word of the contract provided by the other side and rewrote and negotiated it to be in our favor before we signed. His tactful and professional approach saved the deal and made sure we got a contract which was very favorable to our side, protecting our interests and our investment. He did this all without spoiling the deal or offending a difficult opposing side. I would trust Richard with any complex contracts case and highly recommend him when the issue requires tactfulness and working with the other side. I was involved in a horrible car accident where another driver ran a red light and T-boned my side of the car. Unfortunately it was a “he said she said” case with no witnesses. We had to sue. I am so grateful for John Anderson, he helped me prepare my case and prepare for court and ultimately win both lawsuits with my insurance company and the underinsured driver’s company. David is an excellent attorney that will fight you to the end. At this time I have won a jury judgement and the insurance for the Dr. is trying to appeal. David is really excellent in the trial setting and develops a good rapport with jury. He presents the case in a manner that the jury can understand. In my case he was excellent. I would recommend David Hart to anyone who has a legitimate case. Right now the award in my case is in excess of $250,000.00. I goes up about $1000.00 per month. Andrew was wonderful! He was incredibly helpful, as was everyone at the Barber Law Firm. I was very impressed with the fact that he always responded to my e-mails personally, and never made me feel like I was annoying or bothering him. We were in contact on average once every week or two and I always felt like I knew where my case stood. He even took time to respond to me over Christmas vacation when I was having problems with the insurance company. I seriously cannot say enough good things about Andrew and I would not hesitate to hire him or anyone at the Barber Law Firm again. I am a lawyer in Pennsylvania and I just completed a Products Liability case in Pennsylvania involving the alleged failure of a defective bicycle part manufactured in another country. I had a jurisdictional problem whereby personal jurisdiction over the foreign manufacturer was at issue in Pennsylvania. Because the Statute of Limitations, (or time within which suit had to be filed) was expiring, I needed to file a protective action in Federal Court in Washington State at the last minute since the foreign defendant clearly did business in Washington State. Through the trial lawyer list serve on the internet I contacted Phil Arnold who practices Seattle and throughout Washington State. Phil immediately responded to me and immediately took time out of his busy schedule to act as local counsel and get the suit filed in Fed Ct and then convince the Court to have the the case stayed in Fed Ct in Washington while my case proceeded in Pennsylvania. Because of Phil Arnold's responsiveness and legal skills, in filing this protective action in Washington at the last minute, I was able to obtain a favorable resolution of my case in Pa. Phil did not have to help me, but he never hesitated a bit. That is why I am proud to be a trial lawyer and member of the American Association of Justice in which Phil is also a member. We help each other all around the United States. Our common bond is the plight of the victims we represent. While driving southbound on I-5 in Tacoma an underinsured motorist sideswiped a dump-truck causing it to spin around and go north in the southbound lanes and hitting us head-on. We were crushed between the spinning dump truck, the car that caused the accident and the car that rear-ended us. We hired Schroeter Goldmark & Bender to represent us.
The insurance carrier for the underinsured motorist paid us the limits under their policy. Our own insurance company basically made an offer of zero to cover life-altering and permanent injuries.
Our team at SGB of Adam Berger, Sergio Garcidueñas-Sease, Lindsay Halm and Alder Burgess took over for us. One of the most important things they did was to shield us from the stone-walling, delaying tactics of our own insurance company to whom we had paid premiums for more than 30 years. From the beginning they handled the case as if it would end up in litigation. You need attorneys like SGB that have your back and are not afraid to go to court if that is what it takes.
They had the added challenge of doing this during Covid. Thank goodness for Zoom conferences. We ultimately got a court date. Two months prior to our court date, we went to mediation, via Zoom. We didn't hold out much hope for mediation, but we were willing to make an attempt. What a surprise when the insurance company came to mediation finally willing to negotiate. After a full day of the mediator going back and forth between Zoom rooms, we came to a fair monetary settlement. We are convinced that the insurance company, even then, was only willing to negotiate because, Adam and the rest of his team were well prepared bulldogs willing to go to court if mediation failed. As they like to say, "This was not their first rodeo".
A car accident is horrible. You need the best attorneys you can find to protect your interests. Besides being professional and knowing the case inside and out, Adam and the rest of his team are compassionate and truly care about their clients. We strongly recommend them to anyone who needs their service. Without Adam and SGB our insurance company would have paid us nothing.
