I was wrongfully terminated from a local government position. Because it was government it was very complex. After consulting with Mr. David Burkhalter and his son Alex they took my case. They worked together like hand in glove. They kept me updated and aware of things that would be upcoming. I was never “caught of guard” in the process of mandatory wait times or replies from the defendants. Alex Burkhalter earned my respect and confidence from the very beginning. My case was a wrongful termination against a municipality, which involved uncommon, technical environmental concepts. Just to understand the facts of this situation, the entire staff had to learn what must have seemed like a new language. Not only did they learn the environmental concepts and the proper, technical way to speak them, they became proficient in the specific details.
Although I was certainly pleased in his understanding and adaptation to the language of my case, it wasn’t his proficiency in the details of this situation that impressed me the most. It was that each and every one of the staff demonstrated a very personal interest in my well-being and in correcting the environmental issues this case would address.

Alex Burkhalter is the epitome of an attorney and a gentleman. His determination to do the highest quality work for his clients is undeniable. My complex wrongful termination suits required many hours of research and fact finding. He was relentless in his pursuit of justice in this case. At all times, he was respectful to me and made me feel confident and comfortable. Mark was great as my attorney. Prompt, together, knowledgeable and most importantly empathetic. The Courtroom can be very foreboding environment to to find yourself in and Mark made it a point to ease my apprehensions. I called Saeed and explained my traffic ticket; unlike the other lawyers who wanted me to hire them immediately and pay them up front. Saeed advised me that my traffic ticket was a simple expiry of tag and that i should be able to pay the fine without paying thousands to any lawyer. He was more of a physician watching out for the best interest of his client instead of a businessman looking out for the best for himself. Saeed is a fantastic attorney and just a genuinely caring guy. His office is in a very nice area, and conveniently located. He spent more time with me than I've ever experienced from an attorney, and he was quick to find answers to all my questions. He handled my case extremely efficiently, and even made me laugh a couple times.
I'd recommend Mr. Mahallati to anyone. I actually picked up a stack of his cards because lawyers like him will actually give lawyers a good name.

Mr. Topa worked very closely with us over the course of setting up our business. He navigated us though all the challenges from writing a business plan, setting up the legal entity, arranging financing with the bank, to navigating all the mess of forms to be filed with the state and federal governments. I would highly recommend him. Only problem was keeping in touch. He was frequently out of the office visiting other clients and we spent most of our time communicating through email.

My case was a wrongful termination. I had a medical condition which required surgery. Two weeks after surgery my employer terminated me, even though the previous month my annual review was all positive and indicated everything was fine. To add additional injury I was over 60 years old yet not old enough to retire.
Like most everyone in the year long process for justice, I was under enormous emotional stress. Kaarin did not get wraped up in my emotions but stayed focused on the case.
It was clear Kaarin and Halunen knew the aplicable laws, it was assuring to watch Kaarin in depositions asking the right questions to get to the underlying issues in order to prove my case.
Kaarin showed her expreience and skills in the mediation process with the defendant and mediator.
The case has come to a favrable end for me and much of the stress I've had has been relieved by obtaining justice.

I worked with Mic (Michael) after I opened a business that competed with my former employer. I had been sewed for allegedly violating a covenant not to compete with my prior company. We knew that for various reasons the non-compete was invalid, and Mic fought hard to protect my ability to earn an income in the only business I had known for the past decade. My name is Joseph M. Percoco and this is not another B.S. Review story. As a long term driver and valued employee of Fed Ex freight making over six figures a year who never once took a vacation in over 10 years and has earned yearly safety awards as a safe driver with zero accidents where I would have to drive 648 miles each day awoke one morning not able to return to work and was denied unemployment by my employer and was also denied workers compensation.
I can not go into detail as this is an ongoing case but I must tell you that I was turned down by other prominent law firms and was told that this case would be to hard to win and they were not interested because the amount of man hours that would have to be put in would be grater than the end result. I went to discuss an employment issue with Hans Nilge's firm. My employer had opted to not continue my contract. When I asked why I was told there was no reason. The company was based in another state where apparently you do not have to have a reason for termination when filing for unemployment. I had several follow up calls and emails asking for a reason but they insisted there was no reason. Each time I explained that I had to have a reason to file for unemployment in my state. Finally they said just to put down lack of work. When I filed for unemployment my claim was denied because the company had responded to the claim with a vague negative comment about me. I contested and immediately received my unemployment but was concerned the company may in the future say untrue negative things about me. Basically I wanted a letter sent to them demanding them to cease and desist from any potential negative comments against me. Han's firm listened to my story and suggested I open a class action against the employer because they had violated employment rules I didn't even know existed. I did not want to because I thought it would be stressful, but after listening I agreed. The processes was painless the company immediately offered to settle. I walked into Nilges Draher expecting to pay several hundred dollars to protect my professional reputation and I ended up with a very nice settlement! Nilges Draher even had my old company pay my legal fees! The team at Nilges Draher was very kind and responsive. I would highly recommend them.

I had John as my lawyer in a hotly contested divorce proceeding which featured the withdrawal of the other side's lawyers during the case and the hiring of new ones midstream. John Malevitis guided the case through to a quite favorable settlement and conclusion for me. I have since hired him for various other business related matters. P.S. I asked John about the negative rating on Avvo received by a former client and I was advised of the client name, so I looked it up on the Court docket and found that in fact John had attended Court on her behalf about 30 plus times and that finally he had to withdraw when she was not cooperating with him and failed to attend Court as required. I don't understand how someone could publish these inaccuracies without first taking the time to look up the Court docket as I did!
