I had the privilege of working with Dan Cook and his team during an unwanted, very stress-filled, unreasonably delayed divorce. Dan was able to keep things simple, equitable, and given the circumstances, extremely reasonably priced. Kind, compassionate, understanding, supportive, all the good thingsthat you would hope to find in someone who is defending you and fighting fiercely on your behalf. I highly recommend Dan Cook as a lawyer, but moreover, as a human being. When my paperwork was finally brought to court, the official saw it was Mr Cook, commented that all of his documents are always done correctly and moved us to the front of the line! It was finished almost before I could grasp that it was 'my turn' and suddenly all the pieces that I'd waited for to fall into place were set into stone. I remain grateful for the work put in on my behalf by Dan, Stacy, and the rest of their team.

I retained Dan around October to help me right the wrongs that were slipped in to my divorce without notifying me. He had it taken care of by November! My ex was out of prison and emotionally I was no where near ready to face him. Not only were Dan and his staff respectful and professional, but I finally felt heard. That completely changed when I decided to work with Mr. Kevin Bennett. From day one, he provided me with far more information and updates about my case, including the police report, 911 call, and prosecutor’s notes—things my previous attorney never shared with me. I first met Don when he was a new lawyer at Fahey and Boyd I had talked to 3 attorneys at that point who wanted a 5 to 10 thousand dollar retainer for my case as it was complicated I was a waitress with little money . He listened to me and said he didn’t know but was willing to try .I had given custody of my son to my ex during a ruff patch and when it was over he wouldn’t hear of giving him back. His home situation had deteriorated and my son wasn’t being cared for. Don took every phone call from this scared mother no matter the hour saw me through every psych evaluation home study and eventually a bench trial that saw I was correct and awarded custody of my son back to me . That was 20 years ago and I am very grateful that he listened that day and said he would try .Love you Don xo

Throughout my divorce Donald Boyd has been there for me on every twisted turn of this difficult ride. He has always given me clear and complete explanations of my options, as well as guiding me to the best one to achieve the most desired outcome. He has also let me know when to let go.
Over the course of my case Don and his office manager Tavo, have always been prompt at responding to my questions and informative while stay understanding of my situation.
Don really knows the legal process and how to get our point across in court without alienating the judge.

Michael was hired to help with a case involving two cross-border jurisdictions. An amount of undue stress, frustration and mental/financial cost was unfortunately beyond normal, largely due to us having to deal with an extremely dishonest opposing side, whose counsel (a gentleman named Gaurav Bali) in a counter motion was close to facing the judge and get sanctioned due to his unethical/illegal actions on this case (which included them faking the evidence, as well as illegally subpoenaing my former employers and financial institutions). Amidst all of this, Michael was the one who actually helped manage this mess, providing much needed clarity and guidance as to what to do and how to sanction them.
I plan on further retaining (and working with) Michael going forward, and highly recommend him as a person/professional with the highest standard of integrity.

We’ve only met for a short time, she listened, had genuine concern, and had acted right away. My case was resolved in less than half an hour. And even after that, Julia still reached out when she has concerns. And she only charged reasonable fees. Words are not enough to thank Julia for what she has done. My experience having Erika Portillo and her team as my immigration attorney for the past 10 years has been phenomenal! I was able to petition my mother and she also just became a US Citizen two weeks ago! The only reason why I took the 10 years to apply for our citizenship was because I personally decided to wait until my Green card almost expired to apply for our Citizenship. I know I should have applied sooner but with three young children, my studies, and work, I got so busy in my “mom life” that I didn’t realize how fast time had gone by. The good thing is that as soon as Erika filed both my mother’s and my N-400 application in December, by February we had already received our appointment letter in the mail for our citizenship exam! After passing the exam, we received our Oath ceremony appointment for citizenship in the SF location just three months after! I mean this from the bottom of my heart because I’ve heard so many unfortunate situations of how difficult it is for our people to find a good lawyer who doesn’t charge them every time they show up to their office, or charge them tons of dollars upfront to take the case and then they take forever to respond or get a hold of.
