Domestic violence case 5 stars Attorney James Stanley will work tirelessly to find every possible way to help you. I was charged with assault and domestic violence. A domestic violence charge is serious, I could have lost the ability to possess a firearm for the rest of my life and would not be able to obtain any job where possessing a firearm is required. The DA refused to make any kind of an offer with the first attorney I hired. I decided to fire my first attorney at then I hired attorney James Stanley. This was the best decision I have made in my entire life. Mr. Stanley spent countless hours investigating every aspect of my case, he flooded the DA with numerous and creative motions and demands to produce certain documents and discovery and he located and interviewed every possible witness to my case. After he put together my defense, he reached out to the DA and carefully presented his argument and the results of his investigation. The end result? Mr. Stanley got my entire case dismissed. Not only did he get my case dismissed, but it was dismissed with a court order prohibiting the DA from even attempting to file it again even if the DA got more evidence. If you need a criminal defense attorney I highly recommend James Stanley.

Effective 5 stars Jim was able to get a 32 year old outstanding felony case dismissed in under three weeks, with out me have to fly back to Colorado from California to be arrested. Jim is the person you hire, who is going to work efficiently and effectively for you to get the results you want. I would not hesitate to hire Jim again or recommend him to anyone who needs the best representation.

Mr. Stanley gets Case Dismissed (5.0 stars) Mr. Stanley was awesome! I hired him to help my little sister who had a criminal charge of misdemeanor neglect. This had to do with her child who was ill. Because of the illness, the child had missed way too much school. This caused the legal/social services system to get involved. They determined this could be made into a criminal as well as civil case. Not being sure how to hire a lawyer for this type of case, I had spoken to a few lawyers. Mr. Stanley was very articulate on what could happen and what he would do. I felt he was a good match immediately and hired him. After the first two pretrial meetings, the DA gave notice that they were considering changing the charges to felony neglect charges. Mr. Stanley obtained medical records, information on this disease and other medical information specific to this child. I cannot believe the volumes of information he sifted through to prove the child was not neglected and was within the realm of normal for a child of that age with that disease. Mr. Stanley's wisdom and knowledge had such an impact on the medical professionals, they willing wrote statements to further back his research on this case. He carefully went through all the police and social service reports to glean the details of their findings. All this information from the various places were skillfully combined to form his argument for dismissal. The compelling and comprehensive argument that Mr. Stanley wrote to the DA, clearly showed that the case should be dismissed, not upgraded. I believe that based on Mr. Stanley's argument, the DA finally realized that there was insufficient evidence to prosecute my sister on any criminal charges. The DA dismissed the case the day before the trial was to begin.

I can't express how much of a blessing James Stanley and his legal representation was for my life. I was wrongfully charged with drug distribution and was facing a serious felony. I knew I needed an aggressive but also highly rated and proven attorney that would fight to get the best possible outcome. After seeing all the great reviews, meeting in person, and even still being somewhat skeptical, I chose Mr. Stanley to represent me. Fast forward a few phone calls, emails, and a couple months later - the case is completely dismissed and sealed from my record on the first court hearing!!! I entrusted my life in his hands and nothing but good came if it. He had an amazing outlook on perspectives and could see my side of the story and defended me flawlessly. My felony case was completely dismissed after he repeatedly contacted the District Attorney and sent the District Attorney a comprehensive defense argument. He had my back and took care of everything, huge stress reliever having somebody like him in your corner. He helped every step of the way and always contacted me in a very timely manner. Assault Case Dismissed 5 stars Our son was charged with assault in the City of Wheat Ridge. My husband, son and I met with Mr. Stanley regarding the case, explaining all of the details with him. Our son was on edge initially, as he was scared and upset about the entire situation at hand. Mr. Stanley explained what his plans were on how to handle the case and advised our son to take some initial steps to help the overall outcome of the case, which our son did. Mr. Stanley kept us apprised of everything that was going on, from continuances to any conversations that he had with the City Attorney. My son's case ended up being continued a couple of times. After the first continuance, Mr. Stanley advised us that he was able to reduce the charge to harassment. He then contacted the officer involved in the case, talked to him along with the other person involved (who was also charged in the case). Mr. Stanley was able to obtain pertinent body cam footage that helped our case. When our court date arrived, Mr. Stanley met with us at the courthouse and put our minds at ease that he was going to get us the best outcome possible. After meeting again with the City Attorney and the other person involved in the case, Mr. Stanley talked to my son and put him at ease about the outcome. The Judge dismissed my son's case completely and agreed to have the record sealed that day! We were very nervous going into the courtroom. We have never been through anything like this and don't know what we would have done had we not hired Mr. Stanley to represent our son. He truly went above and beyond our expectations and got the best outcome we could have asked for. When we initially met with Mr. Stanley, he asked our son if he liked to read, which he does. He said he was going to bring our son a book the next time they saw each other. After we left the courtroom, Mr. Stanley gave our son a book that he had promised that he was going to give him to read. Again, going above and beyond for his clients. We couldn't have asked for a better attorney to work with and to help us get through a difficult situation. We are forever grateful to Jim Stanley for everything he has done for us! The case that shouldn't have been! 5.0 stars Posted by Susan November 5, 2018 Our case was unusual to say the least. There was only one of us with charges against him, but our entire family was affected. My daughter, like so many others, has PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression. She was in counseling, however it was not being supplemented with medication. She had reported to her therapist that she was having, uncontrollable rages toward her boyfriend and how bothered she was about them, but her therapist never suggested medication. Consequently, during one of these rages she called the police and her boyfriend was arrested, the charges, Assault in the Third Degree and Harrassment. Just three days after the incident my daughter called me. She was extremely agitated and inconsolable. She was feeling hopeless and helpless to a point that I feared for her safety. I encouraged her to seek help from professionals. Thankfully, that is just what she did. Once my daughter was getting the help she needed I knew that I needed to help Jarrod with the legal problems, he now had, due to, in part, my daughter's mental health issues. I did a search online and, fortunately, I found James Stanley. I read through his entire website and decided that he was what we needed to help. We made an appointment with him the next day and he got to work immediately. Jim filed motion after motion showing the prosecution that this was not going to be an easy one for them to win. The mishandling of this case, from the beginning, was obvious. From the police telling my daughter not to include in her statement, that she had started the argument by hitting Jarrod and later scratching him on his face, to the DA's office and the judge not listening to her, when she repeatedly said that what was in the police report is not what had happened. That her mental health issues were largely to blame. At the motions hearing a remarkable thing happened. We were able to get the protection order lifted because Jim got the judge to listen to my daughter. She explained how she was getting help with her issues and that she needed Jarrod to help her in her recovery. At the trial Jim was brilliant in his questioning of the prospective jurors. He questioned them on what they thought about a case that was pursued by the prosecution, but was not corroborated by the witness in the case. He made the comment that the presumption of innocence is only in the court room, not on the streets, and that the defendant is not required to testify because it is up to the prosecution to prove their case, beyond a reasonable doubt. All in all this should have never gotten to trial, it should have been dropped. It was a big waste of taxpayer dollars! But, I'm happy to say that the jury came back in just 37 minutes and found Jarrod, not guilty, on both charges. All my thanks go to Jim Stanley for his stellar work. I highly recommend him and know that you will be in very capable hands with him on your team!

After being charged with assault by Wheat Ridge Police, my family and I met and visited with Mr. Stanley who offered his assistance. I was uneasy at first when I met with Mr. Stanley, as I have never been in this sort of situation in my life before, but he was outstanding and could not have been any better. Mr. Stanley was constantly emailing my family and I about any updates involving my case and did everything, literally everything, to produce a more reasonable outcome when the court date arrived. Mr. Stanley gave me several recommendations, which I followed without hesitation, as he assured me this would help me and my case in the long run. For those who hire Mr. Stanley, which I fully recommend, listen and follow every advise he has, he knows exactly what he is doing and talking about. My court date had been continued a couple times, but following the first continuance, and further reassurance from Mr. Stanley, he already had my case down to a harassment charge. I was completely nervous when my court date arrived and when I saw Mr. Stanley and the way he looked and talked to me, I got a rush of confidence I had not had during this whole ordeal. The judge's reaction when he called my name and reviewed my file proved that the best decision made throughout this whole situation was hiring Mr. Stanley. Not only did I not get charged with assault, but the miracle worker that is Mr. Stanley got the entire case dismissed against me and we were able to seal the entire, like nothing ever happened. What Mr. Stanley did for me and my family could not have been any better way to end the year and give me a fresh start going into 2020. Thank you Mr. Stanley for everything you did, as well as the book you gifted me, I could not have asked for a better attorney and will be forever grateful of the service you provided for me.

Words cannot express how truly pleased I am after working with Jim. I came to him with a DUI charge and after months of tireless, detailed work, Jim was able to get the charges down to reckless driving—an extremely rare outcome in Jefferson County. When all this started, it was important to me to hire an attorney who saw me not just as another paycheck, but as an individual with a unique case. He repeatedly kept in contact with the prosecutor assigned to my case, he cross-examined the police officer during one hearing so well that he was able to catch the officer in a lie and as a result kept repeatedly contacting police supervisors over such deception. Everything he did was integral to the outcome—he left no detail unexamined, and he did it all with humility and confidence and great great care. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending James Stanley to others. He is a phenomenally talented lawyer and an even greater man. I am so thankful for the outcome—I will never be able to fully express my gratitude for his work.

Case dismissed!! So thankful I found and hired Jim. I was charged with a DUI for being in a parked car while it was turned on. I was facing my license being revoked, then later having to use a interlock, plus all the fines and fees that go with the charge. After many hours of review into my case, Jim found errors in my arrest and the Department of Revenue had to withdraw my revocation. I got my driver's license back a day after my hearing. Furthermore, he wrote an excellent letter to the DA's office stating why my charge should be dropped; detailing the errors the officer made and my situation of not driving but rather being in a car while turned on. The day of my court hearing, the DA dropped my case and my charge. I was so happy and thrilled to be free again; life lessons were definitely learned. I am truly thankful for all of Jim's hard work.

First Class Attorney Jim has done an absolutely amazing job with my case. He was on top of every slightest detail in my case from the day I hired him till the case was finished. I had a history of priors and with the aggravated facts in my case, it is a miracle he was able to get the original charges dismissed and a plea to one low level felony. The Judge himself told me at my sentencing that my Attorney did an amazing job for me in my case. I couldn't be any happier I attained Jim, and his services in my case.
