In the summer of 2023, I was experiencing one of the most difficult times of my life. I was possibly facing over five years in prison for a bizarre crime, I did not commit. Fortunately, I had grown up with a former President of the Buncombe County Bar Association, who was more than willing to recommend a stellar criminal attorney—Al Messer. Fortunately, Mr. Messer was willing and available to represent me. He immediately returned my call and instantly put me at ease. He never sugarcoated my situation; in fact, he made sure that I was well prepared for the worst possible situation. He let me know that he believed in my innocence (which was very important to me) and anticipated my exoneration, while also advising me how to prepare for the worst, just in case.
During the many months leading up to my trial, we maintained regular contact while we strategized, reviewed, and prepped. He and Sara, his assistant, took the time to talk me down off the metaphorical edge, as needed. I felt confident in my representation every step of the way. While so much of this situation was beyond my control, it was therapeutic to feel that I was taking part in my own defense as Al was very willing to consider my input while always applying his experience and expertise. This was quite helpful in a situation where you often feel so helpless.
During the trial proceedings, it became apparent, very quickly, that Mr. Messer was delivering a higher caliber of representation than people, in Marion, were accustomed to seeing. Several members of the DA’s staff sat in the audience to view his arguments and techniques. An employee of the DA’s office was even overheard stating that I had gotten my money’s worth. I couldn’t have agreed more. I am so happy that I hired an attorney from Asheville instead of my hometown. When facing any serious offense, please hire the very best representation available. You definitely get what you pay for, and your freedom, employability, and reputation are not things to cut corners on.
Lastly, although my heart is so full of gratitude that my four-day trial concluded with a not-guilty verdict, in less than fifteen minutes, I am particularly pleased that Mr. Al Messer represented me in a way that makes me proud. In a field often populated with people of questionable character, Mr. Messer successfully represented me using brilliance, sound reasoning, experience, and tenacity without resorting to badgering, bullying, or lying; he didn’t have to. He was able to use his knowledge of the law and the facts of the case to appeal to the jury in a way that allowed everyone on my side to hold our head’s head.

Every lawyer I contacted told me about how they would get me a good plea deal but Seth was the first one who said "I think we have a case" and "I didn't become a lawyer to take plea deals." And man did he deliver.
Throughout the whole process Seth would respond to texts quickly and kept me informed about everything. I recommend you tell Seth EVERYTHING, even medical things. There's things he can use in his case that you might not think are relevant but could be game changers. If Seth thinks you have a case, he'll tell you, but he wont recommend you to take the risk of going to trial, you have to make that decision for yourself.
In the court room I saw dozens of people with similar charges to my own, each of them taking the exact same plea deal that the other lawyers wanted me to take. Seth was the only one who took it to trial and he fought hard. As the trial went on, Seth would do research on the fly based on the prosecution's arguments, to poke holes in them, all while playing 4D Chess, positioning his arguments for all possible scenarios, going on for hours without letting up. In the end, it was the simple evidence he provided in the beginning that won the case, the rest was... theater? strategy? A mix of both probably. It worked.
The point is, all charges were dismissed. Seth is the best lawyer I've ever experienced.

Mr. Robinson is phenomenal! He went above and beyond for me. He was always there when I called or was quick to return my calls throughout the process. Mr. Weiland and team have been and are phenomenal.
Apart from being warm and all around great people they're even better and honest attorneys. They were very transparent with me throughout my entire debacle with Henrico county aka the worst place in the US to get a ticket. I was going 96/65 and was promised certain jail time by the cop, the judge and everyone else. Mr. Weiland presented his argument and in short was met with "I'm not buying it from the judge". As I stood there in tears, John proceeded to argue down the judge as to why he needed to see things from another perspective! The judge's response was "in all the years l've been on the bench that has got to be the best argument l've ever heard for I was speeding but didn't know I was speeding" I walked out court with a result that was unimaginable for anything at that speed coming out of Henrico. I was given a regular speeding ticket. After leaving court the judge called and it was reduced 10-14 over.... I paid 250 plus 66 dollars in court fees. Let me tell you they were also the most affordable out of all the attorneys I consulted with! I was quoted on average 2000-5000 bucks! The Weiland firm was fair and reasonable, and by far the best attorney I've ever dealt with !

I retained the Weiland Law Frim for a reckless driving ticket that I got in February. I was speeding going 31 miles over in a 45 zone. I was easily facing jail time loss of my drivers license and not to mention the hefty fines I would have to pay. But thanks to John Weiland and Josh Stock they got me completely off!
The Law Firm from the paralegals to the lawyers are very helpful down to earth and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend using this team if you ever fined yourself in any traffic trouble like I was. Having no experience with legal issues before, I was completely lost when I was arrested for DUI out of state. Luckily, Winnie met me at the door and within minutes had the ball rolling. Receiving a DUI from a different state as a WA resident adds an extra level of difficulty as you get to deal with two DOL's instead of just one. They were able to have my suspensions run concurrently which saved me about 6 months of time and expenses. I highly recommend them.

I was fortunate to retain the services of Mr. Troy Anderson with Hamp Law Firm, after checking many positives reviews from his clients. I made a few unintentional serious mistakes and found myself facing a DUI that would have destroyed my career and had long term serious consequences. I hired Todd for a very serious charge pertaining to operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. This was a Felony matter and the possibility of an extend jail sentence was real and highly probable. From the first visit with him in Oakland county Jail he was honest and upfront with me on what he felt he could bring to the table. I couldn’t be happier with his services from the day of retention all the way through to sentencing.
