Me and my parents have hired Amy Delaney to represent us in two different Medicaid applications and for a will and trust. I cannot praise Ms. Delaney highly enough! She is an absolutely amazing attorney, very meticulous, sharp, and detailed oriented, as well as a kind hearted and insightful individual. She is honest and straightforward, taking the time to thoroughly examine the particulars of any situation. She is always on the ball and makes one feel one has gotten the most out of an hour. I have always felt when she arrives she taken time to prepare for issues to be addressed with a diverse background and wealth of knowledge, bringing to the table insights and suggestions I had not considered. Additionally, she takes the time to fully answer any questions sent via emails, without extra charge, which is very reasonable.
I have worked with Ms. Delaney for about two years now, and we have gone through the details of multiple issues related to elder law and elder care regarding my parents. With her guidance we have for example addressed the details of Medicaid applications, directing of funds to a particular individual after the sale of a house owned by a relative on Medicaid in order to shield that individual from losing coverage and benefits, as well as the particulars of low income government assistance programs. She would also make sure nursing homes would deduct funds related to parental medical care from monthly social security payments vs. the personal funds of a caregiver, for example. Questions involving social security disability, power of attorney, and the ins and outs of the role of Medicaid in assisted living vs. nursing home, details involving reverse mortgage in relation to Medicaid and ownership of assets, were addressed. Pros and cons of particular government programs, extra help from Medicare, and the ins and outs of such issues as particular types of trusts were also addressed in detail.
It is hard to completely disclose all issues addressed, but suffice it to say the numerous particulars of a whole array of situations were addressed in a concise and detailed manner, thanks to Amy's depth of knowledge and experience. As a lady client, I also felt comfortable working with Amy, who has received numerous awards over the years as a renowned and exceptional woman lawyer. Furthermore, I never felt rushed during our sessions, and had the opportunity to not only meet in person but also to speak on the phone if more convenient.
I cannot recommend Ms. Delaney highly enough! Her experience, abundance of knowledge and resources, her intelligence and respectful, considerate nature make her an exceptional lawyer to work with. Thank you so much Amy!

Having recently gone through a divorce and the death of a parent, I've had to get my financial house in order. Part of this is estate planning for myself and children. I could not be more satisfied with engaging in this process with Whitney. From the outset, Whitney clearly explained all angles I'd want to consider as we prepared my will and power of attorney documents. Her clear communication and attention to detail made all of this much easier. As a firm, Unruh, Turner, Burke, and Frees has helpful worksheets and booklets that detail the estate planning process. I easily understood what needed to be done on my end. Beyond that, scheduling appointments and dealing with a reschedule went very smoothly. The office experience itself was pleasant; I was treated with courtesy and enjoyed my tea and dark chocolate, as well as the historic building. I didn't think I would enjoy estate planning, but Whitney and her firm exceeded my expectations, and I actually did! Without any delay whatsoever, on the day of the issue arising, Russ was able to strategize on the correct actions providing multiple options, and we selected the optimal strategy moving forward in order to deal with the problem. I was terminated by my employer and I thought I had a case. I was either ignored or turned away because of "conflicts of interest." Russell came by way of a referral from a Labor Rights website and I am so grateful. He really looked into my case and listened to me. When Russ believes in something, he's passionate about it. I don't know anything about law and he made sure to explain each phase and had multiple courses of actions so I always knew all my options and was fully involved in each decision. At first, I was so worried. My employer had a team of legal professionals and a lot of money to pour into litigation and I definitely do not. I can't say enough wonderful things about Attorney Michael Kilgore and this law firm. This has been a very draining and emotional wrongful death case, but Michael and this office has made it easier to handle with their professionalism and caring staff.

Eight years ago, my family contracted with Teddy McNamara to amend my father's trust upon his death. Teddy's work back then assured that we returned to him eight years later when my Mom passed away. Teddy was attentive and very responsive in dealing with the administration of my Mom's trust/estate, which involved long-distance tasks/signing papers. In addition, Teddy was very available at all times (particularly on weekends and after hours), and was personable. We shared travel information, which was a welcome diversion from all of the tasks at hand! We greatly appreciated this aspect. Administration of my Mom's estate was timely and quick, which is how I wanted it to be.
The only recommendation I would make is that documents be reviewed a bit more thoroughly before going to the client, i.e. spelling and correct names. A quick re-check before sending documents out would probably suffice.

Michelle was referred to us by our financial planner. The fees were significantly higher than the last will & trust we created 16 years ago. However, her knowledge of the law, level of detail in addressing complex issues and willingness to explain things in layman's terms was helpful. Our work schedules and locations made it difficult to meet, and she was willing to conference call after hours to review the documents and save us a trip downtown. We consulted with Lynn St. Louis and staff a few years ago to draw up estate plans for us. She and her entire crew, most especially Elizabeth Wallace, were excellent! We went to Lynn St. Louis to get my parent's will set up and Lynn and her associates were amazing and so helpful! They made sure that we understood everything, and didn't overwhelm us with legal jargon. They worked with us to make sure that everything was in place for when we needed it.
When my mother passed away, we called them to find out what the next step was. Before they even started they expressed their condolences and sent us a card! When we sat down with them to get my mother's estate squared away, they walked us through the process step by step. If we forgot what was going on, they were always happy to go over it again! They made sure to keep us posted when we needed to sign something, or what information we needed to bring them.
