Following a horrific vehicle accident, my nephew received the harshest possible charges for an event that we felt was not deserving of such excessive retaliation by the state. He was assigned a public defender who, while good-natured and good-willed, seemed increasingly incapable of doing more for my nephew than simply going through the motions and hoping for some good luck. I decided that I needed to help get a more determined and effective attorney. I had some contacts and got numerous recommendations for "the best" attorneys in Phoenix. Most did not even bother to respond to my inquiries. Someone recommended Marci Kratter, and after reading her statement of purpose and values on her website, I felt we had found the right lawyer for my nephew. I asked her to look at the case and give it to me straight. She responded that this was a terrible situation made more terrible by the egregiousness of the charges against my nephew and that she felt certain she could help. She offered to split her fee with another attorney, Larry Kazan, who was an expert in handling vehicular cases. The result of their efforts was a drastically reduced sentence deal for my nephew, one much more commensurate with what had actually occurred. Larry Kazan shredded the testimony of the state's accident reconstruction agent, proving that much of the charge against my nephew was based on inaccurate and misleading assumptions. His reputation was more than lived up to. He and Marci Kratter were tireless in their defense, massively effective, and generous with both their time and their approach to financial matters. I cannot recommend him sufficiently to match his expertise.

20 years ago (1994) Barry saved my job at Georgetown University. I was since promoted and received several employee commendations. I retired from the university in 2003 and as a result of the staff benefits package, my son who was 5 years old at the time, received the dependent tuition. He graduated this month from the University of Maryland with honors. Barry helped me to save my son's life. He so well represented him in our legal case; but, that was only a part of his excellence. He helped my son to survive with his knowlege of psychology , his compassion, caring and support, so my son did not act on his suicide thoughts. Barry helped him to maintain his drug sobriety through an incredibly difficult and painful legal case. My son was suicidal from the angst of this case which required my son to look back at his years of child abuse and then into his past drug addiction. Barry worked with my son, my son's psychologist and with me to get through this ordeal. Barry followed through perfectly and quickly on any matter that needed attention. I never had to wait for a response in those difficult months which spanned well over a year. Quite an accomplishment! He developed positive relationships with the prosecution and kept things on as even keel as possible. I highly recommend Barry and am grateful to have found him.

Joel was the first attorney that believed in me and I felt comfortable talking to about my case. He did everything that was asked of him and that he promised he would be able to perform. .A number of years ago I found myself in the need of a lawyer. Having known Joel for many years he was the first I thought of calling. The police wanted me to come in, Joel picked up the phone, talked with the officer and came along with me. Joel cleared one of his typically busy days and met with me and the officer. Having Joel around was indeed a life saver in that I had no experience with situation like this. Joel conducts himself very professionally, knows his stuff and is confident in his abilities.
Having Joel on your team adds someone who will work really hard on your concerns. For me a "huge" relief.

We initially hired a larger firm who claimed they would do a great job for my boyfriend, but without even looking into his case they already were discussing a plea. Now I don't normally write reviews but after hiring Brian Chapman and dealing with my case I felt compelled to write one. I was a university student facing four misdemeanor charges, including a DUI. He was able to work with the courts to get me the best possible outcome for the situation I was in. To put it bluntly I feel he is the best lawyer in Delaware. Throughout the process he kept me informed, was non-judgmental and reassured me about my case, all while not "sugar-coating" what he told me. Bryan and Lindsey are absolutely awesome. He's my husband's attorney and has been fighting tooth and nail to get him much less time than what the judge wants to give him. He's so experienced and much more so than the one that we hired prior, and knew about certain things that even the DA didn't know about when it came to getting a specific DA off of the case. If you are in trouble, this guy is your golden ticket. My husband is doing 16 months in jail instead of 1 1/3-3 or 4-7 yrs. He is also taking care of his parole matter. If you are in trouble and can afford a good attorney (he is NOT cheap by any means), then this is the guy you need to call.

Elizabeth Franklin Best is an outstanding attorney. Betsy more than lived up to her qualifications and reputation! I knew from the initial phone call that she was the one.
She was honest and direct. She did not over-promise or confuse us. She listened and explained the options. She developed a strategy and followed it through. Elizabeth was thorough and did the leg work necessary to get my Uncle out of prison after serving 19 years of a 480-month sentence. She kept us informed of the progress and the outcome was Amazing! The motion was granted several weeks later.

My son was sentenced 50 years in SCDC at 19 years old and devastated the whole family, because he never should have been sentenced that harshly. Mrs. Best came to prison and spoke to him and gave him hope and life to fight for an appeal! All he remembers as we continue to fight is Mrs. Elizabeth Franklin-Best! Mr. Gilmore is a ex student of my parents so it was a “no brainer” when it came to who we should hire! I had a pretty lengthy criminal history and when this all happened I was “living right”!! I had changed my life completely around! I was on nueces county’s top ten most wanted because I got indicted almost 3 years after being charged with possession of a controlled substance. The prosecutor was trying to hit me with “career criminal” which means enhancement and could face 25 years! Mr. Gilmore did a awesome job and was able to get me probation!!! I highly recommend him! Howard was very personable and seemed to truly have my best interests at heart. My family member was accused of a crime near Lubbock Tx and incarcerated . He was beaten and sent to the hospital while in police custody. They had no proof and no witnesses whatsoever and he was humiliated just because he was illegal. Cynthia took our case and within a month all charges were dropped and deported. She's the best! Mr. Sorrels helped me when I got a DWI in Dallas, TX. Barry was already well known and liked by every Judge, Attorney, Law Clerk and Assistant, and new them all by name. My experience with mr.parras comes after he was appointed to represent me on appeal out of the southern district of texas. From day one Mr parras showed his best interest in the outcome of this case.. I was charged with a federal 371 conspiracy and aiding and abetting false statements to various federal firearms dealers... was handed and 168 month sentence... during preparation of the appeal Mr parras kept me well informed on updates with the case. He argued that the evidence presented by the government was insufficient to establish the federal jurisdiction elements of the crime I was charged with and that the government evidence on its face is insufficient to establish the very important element... Mr parras explained to the judges at the 5th circuit court of appeals that the government hadn't met it's burden of proof... the government tried to argue that the forms they presented were sufficient to establish this element but a license number bearing no date of issuance of expiration without more could not have proved this element beyond a reasonable doubt no more than assuming that a driver of a vehicle posses a valid drivers license... agreeing with Mr parras the court of appeals reversed the convictions and remanded the case for dismissal... Mr parras put his best foot forward and was very professional at all times of this ongoing battle many thought was a lost cause... I want too thank Mr parras for allowing me too have my life back... I would highly recommend him to any one...

Having only recently finalized Mr. Parras for counsel and representation I will update this review upon conclusion of my case (or immediately in the event of the any extremely unexpected and/or unfortunate developments); however, I'm extremely optimistic given the attention to detail in regards to both the particulars of my case, as well as intrest in me as a person. It's obvious that Mr. Parras believes that an intimate understanding of the client bears directly upon the outcome of legfal proceeding. While I find Mr. Parras to be intelligent, articulate, and details oriented, I believe, these characteristics can be assumed for any attorney of average or better quality...even those of poorer quality. However, the more illustrious or successful the attorneys, the rarer to find those genuinely interested in clients as people, and motivated as if on a personal level, to pursuing a clients interest ass one would expect for a family member. Immediately upon hiring him, and more-so as time progresses, Mr. Parras has given just that impression: an older brother helping his younger brother navigate one of life's challenges.

The first thing Robin McCarty did was lay out my case, the possibilities - both good and bad - with straight forward, even if brutal, honesty. Many people have ended up with dire consequences because their case was sugar coated and made to look like no problem. Robin sits with you and tells you the truth.
Robin then carefully, patiently, guided me through the process for almost two years - the end result was a full dismissal of charges.
One unique thing about Robin, he was a former peace officer and previous prosecutor - so he understood both sides of the system. This was tremendously helpful.
I call him Robin because he is a really great guy and it didn't take long before I realized he truly cares about his clients and is just as concerned about their future as any loved one would be.
Overall, I would highly recommend Robin McCarty.
