Mr Ellison is very skilled in what he does. I hired him on a third DWI, with two enhancements that led to a habitual offender starting at 25-99 or life. I knew my son was facing a very serious charge, I paid 20,000 for representation that I feel a public defender could have done. I felt like he absolutely did not fight for my son at all, whatever the prosecutor said , is what it was. My son has never been in any type of trouble, and any time I would mention anything with his case that I looked up on my own he would say oh that doesn’t apply to his case. My son was never showed any evidence that they supposedly had against him. Communication with the attorney was not the best, he would respond when it was convenient. I was told after the case was over, if you ever have any questions feel free to reach out, I did and never heard back from him. I guess after getting his money, his job was done…. Don’t say reach out with questions if you know you’re not going to keep your word. He had me believing the whole time he would do all he could to help my son, he still got screwed in the end.

Worst law firm that I have ever dealt with. I would totally recommend someone else. Southpark family law is unprofessional on all levels. They will not take time for you nor your case but will take the time to collect or ask about there money over and over. They don’t follow their own contracts. You can never get a hold of Meg and then you have multiple people in your file when you hired only one lawyer. I really don’t understand how any of them have there License to do this. I’m telling yall to stay away from this law firm, they will totally disappoint you.

I paid this firm over a month ago to complete a simple deed transaction for me. We had a call to discuss exactly what I needed and was assured this was not a problem. They would never respond to me by phone even though I was told I would be called back by the receptionist on multiple occasions. Over the month I never received details on the process. At the end of the month they sent me an email to tell me they were not experienced enough to handle my simple deed transfer and refunded me my money. Throughout the process I simply needed follow up or a call to discuss the status. I don't like to leave a bad review but this was very disappointing.

He literally saved the case.
I found myself in a bind: headed to a notorious Circuit Court and the senior attorney I had hired had pawned my case off to a junior associate who had botched it all. In fact, we were weeks from submitting the brief and they were totally unprepared.
I was given the name of Ben Vernia from successful attorneys in that circuit and called. Most folks aren’t interested in federal whistleblowers who did the right thing but aren’t likely to yield lots and lots of cash, but Mr. Vernia cared more about saving my dignity and preserving my case. Mr. Vernia got right to work on my case and impressed me in several important ways.
He was transparent about his fees. He estimated hours in advance so I could plan approximate costs. This kept my anxiety and budget within control.
Mr. Vernia was calm and compassionate. He listened to me. He was respectful. He helped me understand the process we would be engaging in so I could know what to expect.

When I contacted Nico to address a court hearing I was upset and afraid what the court system would do to me. I was in a facility awaiting my appearance in court. My family worried they would lose me to system.
But my attorney explained to my wife how under his care the outcome wouldn't be as bad as we thought. He gave the confidence I need to get through the wait of the appearance before the Judge.
I paid a modest fee. Then a day before my day In court I They released me to my happy and overjoyed family. It was so nice to be home and safe.

Ron was dedicated to my ex-husband's violent crime case. He was looking at 38 years in federal prison but because of all the work that went into researching PTSD and how it affected my ex-husband the father of my children received 5 years of prison and will hopefully be home in 3 years. Words cannot expressed the gratitude that my children and family feel for the work that was done to defend him. As a MA resident being charged with a DUI in NH, it was important to me that I found an attorney who I could trust and who was familiar with the local law and NH courts. After several days of research and reading reviews, I booked an appointment with Andrew. Andrew and Renee (his paralegal) were both extremely knowledgeable about the entire process and the paces I was about to go through. They listened attentively to the details of my case and believed in me right away. I had been wrongly charged but Andrew was very candid, on what the law is, what would apply and what would not and promised me he would do everything he could (under law) to investigate the evidence on my behalf. Andrew Cotrupi saved my life. While that might sound overstated, it is 100% true. I was maliciously charged with a Class B Felony by a local police department for a crime I did not commit. I originally hired a different lawyer and after several months of working with that firm I was faced with the stark reality that the system was not working as I always imagined it would and that I could very well be going to jail for a long time. My former attorney was looking to just negotiate a deal but I couldn't stomach taking a plea deal when I did not commit a crime. Desperate, I sought the advice of a trusted friend who turned me on to Attorney Cotrupi. From our very first meeting, Attorney Cotrupi and his Paralegal Renee treated me like a human being and not a criminal which was a welcome change after the treatment I had been receiving. Andrew listened. He REALLY listened to me and he talked me off the ledge. I hired him on the spot. Over the course of the year he worked diligently and fought for me like I was part of his own family. He worked tirelessly on my behalf, filing motions, counter motions and defending me vigorously. As my trial date approached, he met with me as often as I needed to prepare me. He was the perfect combination of tough love, sound advice and compassion. My trial lasted for three days if you include jury selection. I was terrified and in uncharted waters but Andrew guided me through. Sometimes he would have to lean over and tell me to relax because I was looking like a lunatic. Other times he would put a reassuring hand on my shoulder. His opening statement was brilliant. He was truly a God-send for my family and I. Because of his work, I will be able to go back to raising my four young children. I have never been in trouble with the law in my life. So, when I was charged with multiple class B felonies, it was incredibly stressful. Mr. Churak was able to get me a reasonable bond amount; lower than what I had researched for similar charges. Mr. Churak took care of all my hearings; I did not have to appear in court at all. It took a couple of years, but in the end, he got the case dismissed. I feel the amount he charged was more than reasonable, especially given the outcome. The total was $10,000, and honestly, it was the best money I've ever had to spend. I would definitely place my trust in him and his abilities again should the need ever arise again. It's not easy to decide whose hands you should place your life in when facing serious, potentially life changing criminal charges. I wholeheartedly recommend you seriously consider Mr. Gary Churak should you find yourself in legal jeopardy.

David is by far the best attorney I've ever had he is very smart and has so many clients and still managed to keep me and my mother beyond informed. He devotes his entire life to his job more than most attorneys do. David not only represented us for traffic violation, he also kept our insurance from going up and handled due to an error by the clerk of court David took the time to drop what he was doing and run up to handle issues out of his control on our behalf. There was always timely communication, meetings, new information, and follow up’s post court dates. I would highly recommend this office and their services.
Longer version:
Hiring a lawyer for someone when you’ve never been in any trouble yourself is daunting to say the least. Will the attorney judge the situation, client, myself? Will they take advantage of my ignorance and inexperience? How will I know if they are actually good or just like a ‘car salesman’?
The client had a very complex case with two current cases in Shelby county, a hold in MS, and then later complicated by a new hold and transfer for federal charges.
This wouldn’t be a 100% honest review if I didn’t admit it took a couple days to originally hear back from the office (I recommend using their online inquiry instead of calling, it seems the electronic paper trail works best); but in those couple of days calling around to many other attorneys some referred me back to this office while others seemed to be judgmental and discouraging (maybe trying to make me feel desperate for their services).
