Mr Upshaw was the court appointed lawyer for my friend and he did not defend him at all. During the trial he did not contest any of the evidence or object to anything the prosecution presented in court. He would not communicate with his client or plan ahead. He just kept him in the dark. As a result, he was convicted and Mr Upshaw was still not communicating or contesting anything and he failed to file for papers in time and seems like he’s working for the court that paid him and not for my friend. He’s not as aggressive as he should be. As a result my friend might be going to jail for a long time. NO thanks to you Mr. Upshaw

I cannot say enough positive things about attorney Geoffrey Upshaw. My son was facing a serious legal issue and Mr. Upshaw was his court appointed lawyer . From the moment we met him, he was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to truly understand the situation.
Throughout the entire legal process, Mr. Upshaw was incredibly efficient and always kept us informed of any updates or developments, still does . He worked tirelessly on my son's case. His attention to detail and dedication to his clients is truly commendable.

This lawyer is currently my court appointed attorney. The first few times we met, without him looking into the evidence, he recommended a guily/insanity plea. After my own legal research, I discovered false evidence in my case. After presenting him prosecutorial misconduct, he has refused to promptly address the court of prosecutorial misconduct. I am currently incarcerated and he has ignored all communications and noshowed two times. I am now forced to have to pay for a lawyer who will actually fight for me. He's creating a HUGE conflict of interest. I feel like because he is court appointed and I did not pay for him, his representation is poor. As soon as I can, I'm reporting him to the BBO.

I hired Mr. Griffis to assist me with a university discipline case involving a freedom of expression concern. Mr. Griffis was quite knowledgeable about the pertinent laws and legal precedents, and he was able to help me navigate the complex administrative rules. Mr. Briones is a generic result attorney that totally got annihilated in court JP3 04/13/21
He was representing my family members in a civil suit and even got their name incorrect.
Briones was unprepared and tried to scam Judge Wentworth into believing that only one person was on a deed to a home in dispute as if the other ex spouse was not on the deed at all. When the Judge called him out in it, Briones stumbled in his words saying he misunderstood.
Briones did not even have the divorce Decree with him that literally won the case for the opponent .
He told the Judge he did not know what was on it and got annihilated once again when the Judge had the copy of the decree and told him that his name was on it. He had signed it, yet had pretended he was unaware of the stipulations on it that favored the opponent and the case was lost for Briones.
I believe the Judge could see through Briones right away and his credentials were immediately lost.
This attorney is exactly the kind of attorney to avoid.

I went to see Mr. Briones for a consultation in December of last year. My ex wife was moving to Laredo and taking our son to go live over there. I asked Mr. Briones for help and he recommended that we file for a modification to have my son come live me with and not have to go to Laredo. It seemed impossible and I never thought I would have a chance but Mr. Briones was very certain that we could fight for this. I didn't have very much money to pay for a retainer so he asked for a little up front and put me on a payment plan. We went to court a few times and at the last hearing we won. My son now lives with me full time and I couldn't ask for a better lawyer on my side then Ricardo Briones.

Back in 2020 I was framed with some drugs in my spare tire in Tijuana, when I try to cross the border I got arrested, it was overwhelming to me, I didn't have any money for attorney at law services, the court assigned this attorney , it was a long walk but everything came out more then I expected. I Was able to fight my case from outside, once Mr. Johnson actually believed in me everything was down the hill

I had the unfortunate experience of Mr. Beshwate representing me nearly 15 years ago as a youngster who got himself in trouble. I was charged a sizeable sum to avoid paying a fine to the court system and ended up doing many hours of community service instead. Well, here we are over a decade later and it looks like this fraud took my money and ran because there is a big ol' fine that's been brewing for years and is now triple what is was. Maybe he just forgot to file the paperwork, but who knows? No call backs from the office staff, no answers, no updates. I'll be on the hook for a huge fine and he can laugh all the way to the bank. I'll be laughing all the way to the state bar.

Hello Ms. Meindock is very hard working and took both mine and my fiance's cases on probono.Ms. Meindock got my fiance out of a world of trouble at no charge to us and really worked very hard on the case as if we paid her good money, which was not the case cause she did it out of the goodness of her heart. Dot got right to work on my case and did everything she could on her part to get my lawsuit settled through GEICO insurance company but unfortunately I did not follow through on my part but GEICO did get back to Dot with an offer. As for my fiances case she got him out of a bogus gun charge on her own dime and for that We were so grateful!!.She worked very hard and really knows her career in and out, very knowledgeable. I faced theft charges that came out of nowhere and caused a great deal of stress and anxiety. Due to a past incident on my record the charges I faced became more of a burden to defend against. Attorney Misko was my second attorney – my original attorney had told me my chance of beating the charges against me were slim and to expect about 1 to 3 months of jail time. I interviewed a few attorneys and based off of Steve’s responses and confident manner my gut led me to choose him. One of the best decisions I ever made. Steve took time to research several angles of my case to provide the best defense at my trial I was facing. Steve was able to make enough of a showing of innocence and reasonable doubt that my case never went to trial. We were able to arrive at a settlement where I would pay a fine which would have been much less than the cost of going to trial – even though Steve could have made more money going to trial he made this happen because it was in his client’s best interest. By paying the fine the DA dropped the charges allowing me to avoid a stressful and expensive trial that would have required expensive expert witness and in the long run cost me far less than it would have to go to trial to prove innocence. The case had been dragging on with the original attorney for close to a year, Steve has it resolved in months for me – and probably saved years of my life due to the stress it was causing. While I hope to never need the services of a criminal Attorney again in my life, if I did need them there is NOBODY I would rather have at my side than Steve Misko. Steve, I cannot thank you more or your attentive, knowledgeable, and proactive manner in which you handled my case.

My grandmother passed in June, she chose them for her attorney to handle her will. Not only did they get 2 out of the 4 siblings addresses wrong but it also took multiple attempts to get the address fixed. Not to mention when we reached out to get information about when the checks had been sent we were given a horrible explanation on top of all of us siblings being treated like idiots. We’re grieving the loss of our grandmother, there’s no reason to be told “I don’t know every case off the top of my head.”
I wish I could give negative stars. The way they’ve handled everything has been horrible, with no explanation.

Attorney Pendergrast represented my son for a 3rd DUI charge. He was looking at a 1-7 year state prison sentence. Attorney Tim applied for every program possible and patiently explained our options. He never gave up. He treated my family with respect and was by my son’s side at every court appearance. In the end my son received a 50/50 sentence (6 months work release/6 months house arrest). Please do your research before allowing this "law firm" to handle your case. It has been a nightmare dealing with them since my accident in 4/2023. They didn't actual start working my case until 9/2023 even though I had completed treatment in June 2023. I have always had to reach out to them for any updates. The updates I received were always very generic with no real plan of action. I have only spoken to the actual lawyer one time in the year and 4 months they have supposedly been working my case. After declining the insurance initial offer in March 2024 and reaching out for updates monthly. I didn't get a call until August 2024 letting me know a lawsuit hadn't been filed and they were now sending my file to one of their trial lawyers in NC. The call didn't even come from the lawyer but his assistant Erica. After receiving no real results, I got tired of dealing with them and took the insurance companies low offer. Hopefully someone will see this review and think twice before dealing with them.

Just spoke to this law firm, I would not reconnect this law firm. Stay far away. Their first duty is to the court, if a judge tells any one of their lawyers not to wear a certain suit again they will bend over backwards. Their duty is not in the best interest of the child but to the court first! Do not hire this firm, they will not argue your case in court. They will let the judge violate your rights and help them do it. When I heard this from their attorney during the consultation I immediately asked where is the duty to your client and the best interest of the child? She hung up. When a lawyers says their first duty is to the court that means you should run! Don’t be to quick to hire an attorney, look around ask questions because lawyers like these will backstab their clients!

This man said he could and would fight for me. He took on my Divorce/Criminal Case and after he retained his fee, did absolutely nothing! I think if you are a Victim of DV, he just plays on that and takes it to his advantage. He needs to be investigated. He is still charging me for work that was never completed and threatening legal action against me. This lawyer is probably one of the absolute worst! The entire time he had my case, he spoke to me disrespectfully, ignored my pleas, pushed everything off until the "Final Trial" and then dropped my case if I didn't pay him the $5,000 he was charging me for work that has literally never been filed or done. Do NOT hire this attorney, and if you have hired him and he has done the same to you- Make a grievance against him and report him to the Kentucky Bar Association. Lawyers like this need to be stopped! I ended up having to represent myself in the end and unfortunately my children are paying the price.

John Henry Browne was the biggest blunder in my federal case. He was so unprepared for trial that the prosecution labeled him "pathetic." The judge also later described his representation as poor and inadequate. Anyone facing criminal charges for the first time might feel overwhelmed and fall into the trap of hiring someone with an inflated or manipulated reputation.
The only times I met John were during the initial consultation and to pay him trial fees. The suppression hearing was handled by an incompetent attorney (C.S.) who was nearly ejected from the courtroom by the screaming judge. He fired the only attorney handling my case just days before trial, with whom he had a falling out in another courtroom, later becoming the town's gossip. It's clear now that JHB ensured I didn't have a defense and wouldn't have the opportunity to make a record. JHB did not meet with me after I was convicted and locked away. He told me it was a better place to argue my case on appeal rather than the district court, and besides, he was going on vacation. The judge had few words on record regarding his vacation priority. There were instances of slurred speech and clown-like behavior that made us wonder if he was on drugs or perhaps heavily medicated due to some condition. Turns out he's a known junkie!
The case was later handled by a few more inexperienced attorneys, another one (C.V.) to be yelled at and nearly thrown out of the courtroom by Judge Robart, whose behavior raised concerns about his mental stability, to say the least. Unfortunately, it isn't easy to find court filings and transcripts where the public could gain better insight into JHB. Sadly, these real reviews might not do much, as he's enjoyed himself for far too long at the expense of desperate people. The “only secretary of the office” as she said herself is extremely rude and dismissive. She told me because of their workload the office will only respond via letters no information on the phone. When i asked the lady her name she tells me she doesn’t have to give me that information and that she is the only secretary of the office. I told her how can she be employed in an office and speak to customers in such a tone yet not want to state her name? When I asked to speak to her supervisor she said it was Allen Dubois but he was not there. I told her I will be making a complaint on her attitude and she hung up on me. Someone needs to fire this lady because why are you even employed if you don’t want to give your name or any information to the community seeking assistance from your office?
