Before I've even started to type this, I have tears of thanks running down my face.
From our very first conversation, Kristen assured me and reassured me over and over again that we would get through this nightmare together and that my daughter and I would be happy and safe. Despite my extreme anxiety and stressful breakdowns through the 2+ year case, she was patient, understanding and supportive.
Being in a marriage where I was degraded and abused for years, left me with zero self esteem and no conidence at all. I believed every awful thing the ex told me...( he'd get full custody, I'd never see my daughter again, he'd put me in jail for kidnapping etc..)
I can't even tell you how many terrified tears I cried in the beginning. Step by step, with Kristen in my corner, I started to feel more secure and confident that I had finally made the right choice by leaving.
While my ex made this a LONG drawn out process, Kristen kept me in the loop and as calm as possible.
Two years later, I'm back to the strong, confident, independent woman I was before my miserable marriage. I know that I am a great mom and I've made the best choices for my daughter and I.
I went from daily anxiety/panic attacks in fear of losing my baby girl, to laughing at the absolute ridiculous nonsense that my ex used to terrify me with. The first great choice I'd made in years was hiring Kristen.
Even when I wanted to give up, she wouldn't let me. Even when I was willing to settle for less than my daughter and I deserved, she wouldn't let me. She fought harder for me than I would've even fought for myself. And everything she encouraged me to fight for was absolutely correct.

I lost custody of my then 5 year old daughter to her abusive father for 2 years. I appealed and won, but during those two years I had to do everything I could to fight for her safety and freedom. It was grueling and relentless. I reached out to many lawyers and professionals trying to find people to help but was often re-traumatized when they minimized or dismissed the abuse. I am so grateful for Matt Arnold and his team. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever be going through a divorce. After almost 22 years of marriage that is exactly what I was doing and I was a complete mess. At the consultation Matt was straight forward and painted an accurate picture of what to expect.
From the hiring of Matt to our final day in court was a 5 1/2 year process. Throughout the entire process Matt and Joanna, his paralegal, were amazing. Never...ever did I feel unimportant. Whenever they were working with me I felt like their only client. I had some less than stellar moments and every time they would kindly and graciously help me get back on track and refocused on the end goal.

2018 I consulted 2 attorneys before contacting Mr Arnold. I was told twice that I screwed myself being Pro Sa and that I’m lucky my ex bf- no blood relation to my son, didn’t get more visitation rights than what was awarded. I wasn’t accepting that. Matt Arnold and his team got my case dismissed and my ex no longer had rights to a child who was not biologically his. I would chose him again in a heartbeat and have recommended him to others. I was given a ticket for 76 mph in a 55 mph zone. I have an out of state license and was told by the officer I would need to appear in court. I received a letter in the mail from His law firm and after talking with his staff retained them to represent me. I was referred to Mark Morris by a friend who went through the adoption process. I first spoke with him on the phone for 45 minutes before even hiring him. He took the time to explain the entire process in detail, emailed me information, and made sure to follow up with me. Once we got the ball rolling he and his staff (Erica) were very efficient. I was recently involved in a hit and roll over auto accident in which I was charged and a citation was issued. I contacted Noah Weisberg to represent matter the matter. My husband and I hired Jennifer to help us with custody of a child that we’ve had for 3 years that wasn’t biologically our child. She was very helpful every step of the way. It is my pleasure to write this review, as I’ve been in a custody battle since my son was born. 3 years, it took 3 years to get full custody, but Jennifer even seeing my story and knowing all of the truths and seeing the evidence for herself, knew there were laws to follow before we could get my son and I to where we are now. She stood this case out with me, she informed me of all of the law changes (laws have changed drastically from when I was a child), and the chances the opposing party were entitled to before we could fight for my son to the fullest. She was very knowledgeable, very organized, on top of things for every court appearance, kept me in the loop of things, how they would go, what it was that was happening the day of. She never walked into court without being ahead of the game and well prepared to fight this for and with me. Their firm stayed on top of my questions, always reached back out to me with any concerns I had, and literally just made sure I knew that my concerns were valid. No, they can not just jump straight to a conclusion for you, but they will fight for what they know is right in all aspects. 1000% recommend Jennifer for a family/custody lawyer. Gabrielle and Alexis worked with us through the very difficult issues because of the Pandemic. They suggested Megan take an in person driving class, but we couldn’t find any locally in Illinois because of the lockdown. On top of that Megan then needed to go to Florida for 4 months. I reached out for a consultation in the Morning Mr. Tortolero called me later that same afternoon. He was very friendly and professional but not like a stuffy professional. I was rushing I thought he is not being paid let me get right to it! It was quite the opposite, I felt like I was his client, he was patient, knowledgeable and extremely honest, transparent and supportive as if I was his client. He was like a cheerleader. He shot me down if he thought my suggestion was not going to fly in court he did not sugar coat things, I appreciated that. He was honest about the cost he did not lie and say oh it will only be x amount and I will have this done in no time. I do not know if I will hire an attorney or not but if I do it will for sure be Daniel A. Tortolero he was like state farm he felt like a good neighbor!!!! I felt like I knew him for years.

Mr. Daniel is the most sincere man I've spoken to, he gave me a free 15 min consultation, offered me the best solution for free! He shared an idea to make a deal and saved me 20k that anyone else could've ran to get my money. Filed my first, and hopefully only, divorce through them. Really affordable and was cheaper than any other attorney’s in my area. Ms. Mroczek is a wonderful attorney. She isn't a surface level attorney, and she dove right into my case, getting to know me and my children right away. She showed that she cared about my situation. One of the things that made me feel the best, was that I didn't have to refresh her memory of my case when I went in for meetings, she remembered every detail. She is so well spoken, driven, responsive, and intelligent. She and her staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and worry less about my upcoming case. Her online case management system is extremely organized and easy to use. I was appointed Michael La Fratta as my attorney. From the beginning I was very impressed with his service and knew I was in good hands. He always made sure I knew the status of my case and encouraged me to continue doing well in my recovery. I was facing 3 felonies (2 possession charges and 1 possession with a gun). Hiring John Painter is one of the best decisions I have ever made, truly worth every penny. He is not only incredibly smart, but very quick on his feet, exceptionally creative, but the value of his experience becomes clear once you see him in a courtroom - this man has seen it all and I can't say how important that is in these cases. Mr. Painter is a kind gentleman when you meet him, but don't let that fool you - he is a true bulldog and will put every ounce of sweat and effort into fighting for you. Mr. Painter left no stone unturned - challenging every point, making strong and legitimate objections (and repeating those as they came up again), pinning down witnesses and ultimately presenting some very novel legal arguments I don't think other lawyers would have tried or thought of. As I waited for my case to be called on trial day, I saw several attorneys defend their clients with mediocre arguments or otherwise simply accept guilty pleas, every single one of them being found guilty. Statistically for NC, that is what I would expect and I was preparing myself for the same. Mr. Painter had mentioned a novel legal argument when we first met, and I wasn't sure it would work but I also didn't expect an attorney to try something besides settling and hoping for the best sentencing outcome, as I believed my case was fairly clear cut. I blew way over both on scene and at the station, it wasn't particularly close. I am sure I would not have had the same outcome with another lawyer - not guilty. Mr. Painter follows every witness closely, taking notes that he uses to create a timeline that he somehow manages to refer back to with an uncanny ability to process all of that in his head in real time. Mr. Painter put on a truly remarkable performance, challenging every point made by the state, repeated objections that arose and came up again (one of which the state seemed to even acknowledge had put their case in a bit of a bind, and it certainly wasn't an obvious one I would have realized - and this wasn't the first time Mr. Painter had brought it up), and not leaving anything on the table for the judge to consider in favor of conviction without challenging its merit. Mr. Painter handled my case for three years, and kept me from making court appearances until the time was right. I was ultimately found not guilty, 100% due to this man and I feel (as I have seen many others on here mention) as though I owe him more than the legal fees I paid (which were probably a bit higher than some other attorneys at the time, but worth every penny and looking back I would have paid more). What an incredible relief when I had all but accepted that I was likely to be convicted, potentially having to wait several years before the asterisk on my record was removed (likely after the damage was already done). Do yourself a favor and go talk to Mr. Painter in order to put yourself in the best hands possible; you won't find his level of skill in another attorney and the consequences are too great not to.

I have used John Painter twice on two family related criminal cases almost 20 years apart. Both times I got exactly what I wanted.
