My ex-wife gave me an extremely contentious divorce through constant harassment, stalking, false allegations, false police reports and defamation. I just wanted to share that mr Beau Fiegal was the most caring and professional attorney I have ever met! He fought for me soo viciously! Thanks to him I am sole conservator for my children. I have a pending felony something I’m not proud of and on top of that my ex tried accusing me of abuse let me just tell you he got the abuse case dismissed! He was able to prove that he was laying!!! Mr. Unger went above and beyond to make me feel extremely comfortable and taken care of in an otherwise very uncomfortable situation. He did everything he told me he was going to do, for the amount he told me he would do it for....and returned the balance of my retainer that wasn't used. More than once he spent time on my case with me that he didn't charge for. I wouldn't hesitate to call on him again should the need arise. I genuinely felt he cared about me and my situation.

Unger Law Firm did an amazing job on my case in achieving the best possible outcome. The case was a bit confuse and complicated, being that it was officially established in the State of Florida and re-opened in Texas. There was a lot of back and forth between my previous case/attorney and the new situation, but that shows as well how much attention to detail and wanting to make sure all bases were analyzed by the Law Firm. From the very beginning, Unger Law Firm would ask a lot of questions and was really digging into the situation, even I was surprised how much information they wanted from me since even before the original case in Florida occurred. Hiring attorneys in general regardless of the case can be stressful mentally, physically, and for sure financially. Unger Law Firm gave me the satisfaction and tranquility that financially the investment was more than worth it. The Unger Law Firm is very passionate in their work and are there for you all the way, a lot of input is also required from oneself, because at the end of the day it is our lives and whatever the outcome is will affect us, so it is strongly a team effort. Divorce is very hard on both people. its sad. this was the hardest situation i have ever encountered. Jerry wasn't just a lawyer. he was compassionate to both me, the client, as well my wife. Many days Jerry also played the role of counselor to me. He was kind all the time but effective at the same time. Jerry proved he could not only get the job done but with compassion and empathy for both myself and my wife. At the end the opposing counsel was very rude to me as well his client, my wife, but Jerry stepped up. even though he was leaving on vacation the same day and not supposed to be at the prove up he showed up. i cant begin to explain how comforting this was to me and my wife. While i hate divorce, if it must be done i would recommend Jerry. Recommend him because he is effective but kind and empathetic at the same time. Very Very Happy with how Jerry handled my case. It's been 12 years since my divorce. Mr. Pederson was found on military.com when I could not even spell divorce and was not knowledgeable on the process. Fast forward 12 years, I am in a favorable mental, emotional, physical, psychological, and financial status. While those times during the divorce were dark days, I was not able to see the white light at the end of the tunnel. Marc could though, and was at the helm. He assured me he knew military and civil service needs for typical clients. Looking back on my own situation where Marc gave it his all on my case, and also looking at other clients who did not fair well with their legal representation from other high powered firms, if I needed a lawyer again for future military or civil service unique needs, I highly recommend Pederson Law Firm without a doubt. I first met with Mr. Gordon in 2015. He was quick to return my calls, spoke to me with such ease and struck me as a very kind and approachable person. His staff was efficient and always courteous. I'm not the type of person to write reviews as I consider myself pretty low key. However, when it comes to Lauren I knew I had to let the world know about her because that is the very least I can do to show my gratitude for everything she has done for me.
Prior to meeting/hiring Lauren, I was going through one of the most painful chapters in my life. My ex fled with my child, lodged multiple false accusations against my family and me, and completely limited my access with my child. After what felt like a lifetime of non-stop accusations, I found Lauren and she really came to the rescue.
In the first 3 months alone she was able to do more for me than all my 3 prior attorneys did in one year. Lauren was always available, always empathetic and always ready to answer any questions or concerns I had. I went from being deprived months without seeing my child at all to now sharing custody as close to equal that far exceeded my expectations.
What I appreciate about Lauren is that she's extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. She keeps a cool head and is always present. She doesn't take this as just a job but really invests her time to know her client and she makes a genuine and conscious effort to do the right thing and make a material difference in someone's life as she did with mine.
Fast forward 2 years later, my entire case is coming closer to an end and I have more optimism than I ever thought imaginable. I no longer wake up every morning fearing the worst. I have my son. I hired Kristine a little over two years ago after firing an attorney who had actively made a complete disaster out of my case. Kristine instantly got to work on cleaning up the mess I was left with……and to date, she is still working as ferociously as she began. I cannot say enough good things about Kristine but will attempt to do so here.
Communication – Kristine is SO on top of communication, and not just with me, but with anything that comes her way about my case. She is constantly checking the court docket and has even relayed information about other cases that I have been dragged into before I even knew it. She copies me on all correspondence about my case to GALS, attorney’s, mediators, and even court administrators. I am never left in the dark about my case with Kristine. There are no surprises when I head to a hearing or trial. She makes no decisions without my input. Any meeting that occurred in chambers or on conference calls, she will immediately relay all that was discussed while I was not present. There have been times during after-hours or on weekends and even holidays where I have needed Kristine, and she has never turned me away.
Motions – Kristine is a wordsmith. She writes excellent motions and has a knack for cleverly delivering just what I need conveyed. She never submits or files anything without my approval. Even if it drives her nuts (which she never lets on to)…..she allows me change the motions until I am fully satisfied. She never gives me grief about it, even if I want to edit it five times. She is patient and truly understands that this is my life, and these things are important to me.
Conduct in trails or at hearings – Kristine is fantastic on her feet. I recently had a VERY important hearing that was granted by the skin of our teeth. At the end of the hearing the Judge asked Kristine and the opposing attorney if they would like to close with a statement. Kristine had nothing written. She spoke completely from her heart and head about my case. Her knowledge of the case was so clear that everything she was saying came out natural and genuine. She knocked it out of the park for me at that hearing, and I am sure that her closing words helped to solidify the favorable outcome that I received after that hearing.
Knowledge of your case – I am continuously impressed with Kristine’s innate ability to retain information about my case. This is such a rare quality in an attorney. Most attorney’s treat you like you are just one of hundreds of clients and they can’t recall anything about your case without referencing an email or note. Not Kristine, she has it all right in her head and at times she has even reminded ME of things about my case that I had forgotten. It’s incredibly helpful to have an attorney who absorbs information about your case, especially when it comes to cross examining witnesses!
Going to bat – She is no doubt a feisty Italian from Boston, need I say more? In my case, my ex is a terror. It feels good to have Kristine observe that and truly understand the crux of who is the cause of most of our issues, and therefore is not afraid to stand up for me, or “go to combat” with my ex on the stand when he is being pompous and impossible.
General care – I went through one of the toughest years of my life. It is not an exaggeration when I say that I could not have made it through without Kristine. She did everything in her power for me when I was at my lowest points in this case. She has gotten to know my family. She believes in me; she believes in my case. Even when I had just had my baby and an important court date was coming up, she came to my home for a meeting, so I didn’t have to find childcare and leave my newborn. She has genuine empathy when things are bad and is right there to rejoice with you when things are good. Kristine is not just my attorney; she has become my friend.
Just hire her. I promise you will not be disappointed in her abilities to fight for you.

Brian represented me many years ago in a high conflict custody case. I went through my share of lawyers and was almost always disappointed. I got to a point I didnt know whom to trust. I had an odd situation where I ended up with visitation/ custody issues with my ex who ended up being a sex offender. Rui has been an exceptional attorney since I first hired him two and a half years ago. When I first consulted him about my separation and divorce I was not anticipating the high level of conflict my divorce would have. Rui was there for me every step of the way offering his extensive legal expertise, support, compassion, and the hard truths of the family court system as necessary. He was able to get my children and I out of an abusive situation and obtain an advantageous divorce agreement both financially and in regard to custody arrangements. When my ex has attempted to drag me back into family court Rui and his team have been there to assist me quickly and with excellent results. I am a retired attorney myself, now seeking an attorney to help with a defective mesh implant I had years ago. I called between 10 and 20 firms claiming to be “experts” in hernia mesh claims. I received a return call from every single firm EXCEPT DAVID’s from someone at a call center screening for valid mesh cases who followed an apparent script they had been given. The screeners had no apparent legal or medical experience and they certainly weren’t attorneys. They did not understand any medical procedures, especially if not listed on their script so I found myself explaining medical processes to them. In fact, because my situation is somewhat unusual and I couldn’t honestly say “yes” in response to one of the screener questions but rather need to explain my answer to someone who understood the medical and legal processes, I was told by several screeners (with no legal or medical training or experience) that I did not have a claim and their lawyer “couldn’t help me.” The majority of the firms did in fact accept my claim and agreed to represent me after a several day process of lawyer review, but David LISTENED TO ME on my initial call, understood exactly what my medical situation was and took it upon himself to represent me in conjunction with another attorney he asked to contact me directly.
David is extremely knowledgeable and he listens and he helps clients. From now on, I will always call David first and not waste hours and hours talking to screeners and non-legal, non-medical call center employees.

he backstory is that my daughter's mother decided to move away and tried to take my daughter across the country away from me for no reason other than she wanted to move. I've been active and in my daughter's life since birth but due to my previous choice of attorney, almost lost this case. I was involved in a long-term mess with my ex-spouse. Making matters worse, my ex-spouse’s attorney was non-responsive and extremely slow to do anything. I hired Bruce and the change was immediate. The day after I retained him, he sent letters and started the process of getting the case moving along. He also let me know the realistic outcomes that we may face along the way. Even more telling, he went above and beyond to let me know the best way to handle the matter so I was not spending too much money. His honesty, knowledge, and preparation was beyond my expectations. We had one court appearance and we achieved all of what we were going for. You could even tell Bruce has a great reputation as it seemed the judge was more inclined to listen to his position. When opposing counsel became desperate and began threatening us, Bruce responded immediately and let me know if it was anything we had to worry about. I can’t recommend him and his firm enough. They ended a 15-month nightmare and did so in a fair manner.

Brian Myers represented me in a divorce case that was extraordinarily contentious and difficult. Not only did Brian have to confront an opposing party that was unwilling to compromise on any matter great or small, but he also had to cope with my peculiar circumstances--when I first retained him I was living and working in Southeast Asia--and with the chaos and uncertainty that the pandemic brought to legal processes and the court. I am forever in his debt for his exceptional perseverance in surmounting these many challenges, for his stout advocacy, good judgment, his compassion, and for the deployment of his extraordinary legal capabilities on my behalf. Brian is among the most impressive people I have met in any field.
Compassionate and non-judgmental, with an abundance of optimism and an unflappable disposition, Brian always responded quickly and trenchantly to the many emails I sent him. During these dark days that, as days do, accumulated to years, I had a tendency to write long, sprawling messages, only portions of which were legally relevant. Had Brian responded in full to every facet of these emails, I would have quickly been bankrupted. Instead, with an unerring capacity to separate the tangential from the essential, Brian unfailingly got to the legal heart of my messages, keeping us on task and saving me thousands of dollars. This is one small example among many of his superb judgment, his devotion to serving the best interests of his client even when the client in question (me!) could not see the forest for the trees. Brian Myers is the best attorney anyone can hire in Santa Cruz County. He has been my attorney for six years. This man knows the law and will fight for you with honesty and integrity. That may not be important to everyone, but it was, and still is, important to me. There is a reason why he is the Santa Cruz County Family Law Bar Association President. They chose well.
I met with Brian for a consultation 3 months before filing for divorce. I explained my dire circumstances and he listened. He didn't set a timer or watch the clock (like the others) and went well over the allotted time. Unlike some of the bottom feeders I met with, he showed compassion and I sensed this was a man who took his code of ethics seriously, which is very hard to come by with divorce attorneys. Let's face it, there's a special place in Hell for most of them. I told him I wasn't looking to hurt my soon-to-be ex-husband and he was okay with that. I thanked him for his time and left his office to consider what I would do.
Three months later, I knew I had no choice but to file for divorce. I called and asked to speak with him. He was surprised I was calling him at that time; not because he thought it would work it out, but because it took me 3 more months before I finally walked away from an impossible situation. His compassion was palpable. He asked for a very reasonable retainer and had my divorce filed and served within a week. There wasn't one hiccup.
My case inevitably became horribly ugly a few months later when an emergency custody request was necessary. He took care of everything and it was seamless. I then needed a Domestic Violence Restraining Order, which he secured for me for three years and then renewed for another five. I endured years of a custody/visitation battle with drug & alcohol testing, multiple reunification therapists, a move to a different county, etc. He's done it all for me. The bottom line: My kids are safe and I have Brian to thank for that.
The one thing that was (and still is) most important to me while fighting this fight is this: I want to be able to come out of this someday with my head held high. I want my kids to know, someday when they're old enough, that I did everything right. I never lied. I never stooped to the lows the other side did. That's important to me. Kids figure out on their own at some point what's going on, so don't play dirty. That's my first bit of advice to anyone reading this. My second bit of advice is this: Hire Brian. He will be there for you every step of the way. He'll get the job done and he'll do it right. If you want an attorney who will represent you effectively, ethically and efficiently, Brian Myers is your guy.
