I met Matt and his para Benjamin when my previous lawyer had abruptly left his firm in the middle of my custody case.
Matt quickly got up to speed, and was everything I had hoped for and more. Matt always kept the children’s best interest in absolute focus and never let me astray.
He gave solid advice, showed genuine care, and had a sharp strategy for all the twists and turns, always unwavering in his approach to not add onto the drama (and billing).
It is a great gift to be able to look back and know that every win was done right, and not from punching below the belt.
Going through it, the greatest gift was the firewall he and Benjamin put up in only bringing me what truly needed my attention.
Benjamin deserves his own review as well. When you are going through something as emotional as a divorce, you need someone who is calm, cool and very competent at your side. Mr. Fozard is kind, professional and he stays focused on the goal. My ex-wife went through two different attorneys and both of them tried starting silly arguments with us that quite frankly just rack up the legal fees . . . .. good for the lawyers, bad for the clients. Mr. Fozard shut that down immediately and kept the process moving forward.
Also of note, his communication and follow through are absolutely outstanding. While hopefully I will never need his services again, I know I will be keeping in touch with him, as he is that type of individual!

I’ve been using Paul Ferns for several years now. Originally I had a different lawyer and he wasn’t on top of my case. I soon after had switched to Paul and haven’t had another attorney since. He has helped in numerous car accident cases and a few driving violation cases as well. He also has given advice on family issues and legalities of different situations I was in need of help with. I’ve always left his office happy and extremely satisfied with the results. He’s answered every question I’ve had an has been very attentive to my cases. He’s a breath of fresh air and very professional. Definitely has a way of making you feel comfortable. Breaks down all aspects of the cases I’ve presented to him and which ways we are able to go. I had a particularly complicated Divorce that had a house, assets, debt and other considerations that needed an experienced Lawyer that could navigate the Rhode Island legal system quickly and easily. Attorney Ferns not only made the whole process easy but we were able to come to an agreement with my spouse and get a judgement much faster than I anticipated. I am an out of state guy who needed a traffic issue addressed...a 30 year old traffic issue....My home state was not going to renew my license because of an unpaid ticket from 1987 ...I figured it was going to take months...because in dealing with the DMV.... I already had over 2 months of waiting. I called Paul on a Friday issue was taken care of by the following Wed including the documentation which was in my files by Wed afternoon. I called James for a consultation and to interview him for possibly doing a prenuptial agreement for me. I found him to be forthcoming with accurate information. At the end of our conversation, I requested a ballpark price. He completed the job on time and under the price he quoted. This is very rare in this day and I've hired many lawyers in the last 30 years. I would not hesitate to hire him again if I needed legal assistance in his field.

Reem Odeh helped my parent get a green card after a long visa overstay. When we were about half way through the process, we encountered a really difficult pothole and had to consider the fact that my parent would not be eligible for her card. Reem personally intervened, performed some miracle work with a letter she wrote to the USCIS, and we received the green card yesterday. The process took about 9-10 months.
We are absolutely grateful for all the work that Reem and her office put in for us. I strongly recommend her for anyone requiring help in immigration, because if anyone could help you, it will 1000% be her. She is so empathetic and cares about individuals, not the numbers.

Terry Brown took on my divorce case which appeared to be a simple uncontested divorce as there was a pre-nuptial agreement. However, it quickly morphed into a complex contested divorce with out of state and international complications. The defendant was not a US citizen but did have permanent resident status. I had signed an immigrant sponsorship document that defense counsel attempted to use to claim alimony which would have reached into the six figures. Opposing council attempted to show that I was an abusive husband, even calling in DFACS to investigate (and spend hours searching my house). The pre-nuptial agreement was questioned and opposing council made a rigorous attempt to get this rejected by the court. The defendant would not supply all documents requested during discovery thus causing numerous problems and a trip to court to obtain these. Several issues and conflicts with the defendant’s income statements were found by Terry. Even with all these problems (and about 20 other minor issues) and a yearlong divorce, Terry won the case for me. The abuse issue was unfounded, DFACS refused to investigate farther as there was no evidence and conflicting information provided. The immigration sponsorship was not accepted, and the pre-nuptial agreement was. As Terry stated “what’s your’s is your’s and what’s mine is mine” turned out correctly. While it was a long, stressful divorce, the trial outcome was better that I expected based on the risk and exposure I had. I will recommend Terry for any type of divorce.

Katherine Burnstein came highly recommended by another lawyer I've known for years, and worked for nearly 18 months on my divorce and custody case. Katherine possesses a perfect balance of compassion, empathy, and occasional brutal honesty when necessary.
Her years of experience and her clear love of ongoing learning were invaluable in helping me navigate a complex situation that I knew little about. She had the patience and willingness to listen and help me figure out what I wanted and needed, without ever pushing me toward her own conclusions. When the need arose for specialists outside of the field of law to assist with the case, I was very impressed with the experts she brought it.
Katherine showed keen attention to detail, catching little details in the settlement proposals that were either errors or ambiguities. In the end, I benefitted from her ability to catch these details that others might have missed.

Gordon was my 3rd consultation, so how different he is, stood out immediately, and I knew right away that I found just what I needed. He is compassionate, passionate about his clients well being, incredibly fair, always there when needed, and a great sense of humor, when direly needed. My divorce dragged out for 4 yrs, from my spouses end, with him going through 4 attorneys, so I got to know Gordon very well. Gordon Brown is a one in a million, you could not ask for a better lawyer to fight for your child/children. He puts his heart in his work and once you meet him there is no questioning that. I had consolted with another attorney who seemed great during the initial consolt. However, when I was wanting to hire her she would not return my calls or emails for 3 months. This led me Google to search for another attorney. I found Sarah Reist and now I am glad that other attorney never replied to me because I found Sarah. When I met Sarah, she was with another firm. She was very kind, pleasant, informative and professional. She spent a good amount of time with me. She answered all of my questions. I immediately hired her to write a letter to my ex spouse which she did quickly and efficiently. She since then has opened her own law firm with a colleague but I was very happy because she took the time to write me and give me her new contact information. She also called me to check on me and make sure that I received her letter with new contact information. When my ex husband called her about the letter she wrote him, she called me right away the same day to inform me and thanks to her letter, my ex spouse finally reimbursed me for medical expenses after 11 years of not paying at all. Sarah always answers my emails and never forgets about me. I am now in the process of hiring Sarah Reist again to proceed in child support enforcement / filing a petition for contempt. I cannot recommend Sarah enough if you are a father wanting your legal rights protected and your children are in the Nashville area. I live in Michigan, my children were in Tennessee in the Nashville area, and I now have full, permanant custody of them in Michigan. It was a lot of work, and very stressful at times, however, if you are wanting an attorney who will work extremely hard for you, if you are wanting an attorney who is not only smart, but capable and devastatingly aggressive in the courtroom in pursuit of your rights and interests, you cannot do better then Sarah.
I am 100% convinced that having Sarah as my legal console made the differance in the outcome of my custody battle. Thanks to her efforts, her hours of hard work, and her zealous prosecution of my rights, I now have full custody of my children. I could not be more grateful for the services she's rendered, and could not recommend her any higher. Wow! Working with Mrs. Stewart was one of the best investments I've ever made-next to investing in real estate! The service I requested was a contract review and she pretty much dissected the contract and exposed sinister intention. She explained how contracts should be construed in accordance to the locality/state of the party. She offered great advice such as being able to exit a contract under your terms and that it shouldn't be unilateral or in the favor of the other person. There is so much more I could write, but I have to go to bible study now!

I was caught in a bind when my ex sprung on me divorce papers. With only 5 minutes notice, Erica jumped in and helped navigate a complex and somewhat unique relocation and custody case. Attorney Didion handled a difficult Probate matter for me. She made a very difficult matter look simple. She did this all during a pandemic! She was a blessing. I was wrongfully accused of a Title IX infraction. Marc is an exceptional listener and possesses the innate ability to ascertain facts from friction. After discussing my situation, Marc walked me through the Title IX process and explained how we should address the issue. Marc assisted in drafting a response letter to the adjudicate and coached me leading up to the interview. In the end, the accusation was not a Title IX issue, and flaws and false accusations in the claimant's testimony surfaced in which the case was ruled in my favor.
