I used the Slovensky Law firm for my divorce. I looked up lawyers in the surrounding area near Roanoke, and this firm had wonderful 5 star reviews. Those reviews helped me realize this is who I need to help me through my divorce. Mrs. Slovensky helped me every step of the way to understand the process and always so positive in helping me get through this. My ex-husband wanted a very large sum of my retirement plan. She brought in another company to evaluate every part of my plan and lowered the sum substantially!!!! By doing this, I was able to walk away from the marriage not owing him a large sum of money. Hillary did an amazing job for me. My ex and his lawyer were throwing every curveball imaginable to disrupt, disarm and cause harm to my fragile state of emotional and financial ruin of a left over marriage. Hillary took over after I had to fire my previous lawyer who ran up the bill by responding to every outrageous thing my ex and his lawyer could dream up. I was living in a nightmare and Hillary came to the rescue. She picked up the pieces quickly and supported me as best as she could. She did not overcharge and indeed helped me to save money by letting me know that we didn't have to respond to every little crisis the other team was dreaming up. In the end I was lucky to have walked away with some of things from my nineteen year marriage. I should have hired Hillary from the beginning. She is incredibly smart, thinks on her feet and is supportive of her clients. We had a hard time at court and Hillary admitted it but it was through no fault of her own. She worked wonders at having my best friend and mother dismissed as his witnesses on the stand and I am forever grateful to her that she fought for my right to return to school to continue an education so that I could support myself after 19 years as a stay at home parent. From what I know now my case was very hard and messy but Hillary championed me through it with ongoing optimism. Thank you Hillary. Anyone who reads this needs to know that she and Renee her assistant really will have your best interest at heart and will work hard to help you no matter what gets thrown their way.

I have been involved in a very challenging case with very significant mental health problems of the other parent that, unfortunately, continue to impact the life of a child.
I was initially referred to Mr. Newsom from a friend and was a bit hesitant at first with all of the attorneys I met with. Upon meeting Mr. Newsom and discussing our case, I quickly found that he was there for the right reasons and was vastly skilled in areas that I needed the most support in.
He is able to keep a level head in very challenging situations which, in turn, allows him to see the big picture to not only focus on immediate needs but also the 'long game'. He is incredibly skilled in drafting responses and documents as well as seeing areas that you, the client, may need to improve and will direct you to appropriate coaching or resources that will benefit your family and, most importantly, your child. About twenty years ago, Tony had helped my parents and I get through a challenging criminal case. Achieving the best result possible. But, it is now twenty years later and I am scrambling for an attorney in a family law case. I thought of Tony briefly, but shrugged him off thinking.....he doesn't practice family law. Until, I am now down to the wire and I need representation fast, like now. I am downtown San Diego and I decide to reach out to Tony on a whim. Not only do I locate Tony, I leave a message with his firm briefly explaining the situation. Its a Friday and I am thinking I am toast. The next day, Saturday, and Tony calls and tells me to meet him on Monday to go over the case. I did not even have to ask him one question about fees? is he available, can he be proactive, nothing. It was like such loyalty from his prior work twenty years ago like it was yesterday! He did not miss a beat. He was on it from hello and went on to win with the best results possible. I guess I am trying to say that Tony is so good and with it for his clients that he responded just like the twenty years did not even exist. He operates today like he did twenty years ago. I have never heard of a divorce is traumatizing or as messy as my own. I was devastated by the unfair and untrue allegations my ex brought to the court and the resulting financial, custody, emotional and mental battle that ensued. Tony met with me the same day I contacted him and assured me he would always tell the truth even if I didn’t want to hear it. I was not at all prepared financially for this divorce and we worked out a very reasonable payment plan. The constant onslaught of paperwork, emails, Serving notices and phone calls were very overwhelming but Tony was able to take care of everything for me and simplify the process in a situation I thought would never resolve. Once the dust settled and I felt emotionally and mentally ready to represent myself Tony graciously shared the pros and cons of my decision and we came to an agreement that I could handle the rest on my own. Let me tell you about Don he’s the best ! I first met Don when he was a new lawyer at Fahey and Boyd I had talked to 3 attorneys at that point who wanted a 5 to 10 thousand dollar retainer for my case as it was complicated I was a waitress with little money . He listened to me and said he didn’t know but was willing to try .I had given custody of my son to my ex during a ruff patch and when it was over he wouldn’t hear of giving him back. His home situation had deteriorated and my son wasn’t being cared for. Don took every phone call from this scared mother no matter the hour saw me through every psych evaluation home study and eventually a bench trial that saw I was correct and awarded custody of my son back to me . Going through divorce is stressful, but I can tell you that Steve Murphy represented me over the course of nearly ten years and I can't imagine having navigated the courts without him. I am finding it difficult to even put into words how grateful I am for the work Todd put into my family law case.
From returning phone calls on weekends, to filing emergency documents in the middle of the night, he was there with me every step of the way. I heard from many friends their lawyers were extremely condescending and unresponsive, so I was worried what I may encounter during my journey. I couldn't have asked for a better attorney than Todd. He took my case personally and does not even utilize a paralegal for his practice. He is hands on and does everything himself. He lives and breathes for his work.
Our intitial consult was on a Sunday. I called his answering service and he returned my message within minutes. While he never pressured me to retain him for my case, I hired him on the spot. It was the best decision I made.
My case was invovled and he had the knowledge and experience to see it through, despite many complications along the way. He definitely took an outside the box approach to several matters that ended up closing the case.
No one expects to need a family law attorney. However, should you find yourself in that position, Todd is an excellent choice.
Andrew was also briefly involved with my case and while we did not have much interaction, I was impressed by his compassion and appreciated the time he took to offer his insight as well.
On a final note, I found Todd's billing extremely reasonable and fair. Thank you to this firm for helping me through an extremely difficult time in my life.

I needed some help with a small estate affidavit after my father passed. I live out of the state of Tennessee making it very difficult to get straight answers from anyone and eventually finding that a couple lawyers were trying to nickel and dime me - starting with one price and then coming back with another. Then I found Tara. She was the answer to my prayers: upfront, informative, confident, and most importantly, honest. She quoted me a flat fee for the work and filing fees for probate court, she constantly kept me informed with paperwork updates and the like. She was empathic to the fact that I was dealing with a stressful situation. The human element of the law is hard to find sometimes. I really appreciated that coming from Tara. She's got a great sense of humor, too, which is usually important in times like these. She takes her work very seriously. After meeting and hiring Savannah at the Rebecca Carrillo’s law firm back in September 2018 I am very please and happy with my results. Along with a very respectable team, she was amazing! I never thought I would have to go through a Divorce/ Child support, but Savannah made it as smooth as possible and understanding and fast. Her fast response to communication won me over. She worked with me diligently and never made me feel overwhelmed. The office provided me with packets on what to expect, review and study. Homework was assigned and it was pretty easy since I was an organized person already. I came out with a huge win for my daughter and my home along with certain assets.

My case, as most, was complexed and messy. Will was simply amazing. Every turn of event and every time I had any issue he was on top of it and always responded to my every question, issue, etc. even when I know he was not in the office! He was very patient with me and respectful in all aspects. He always prepared me for what I feel was 100% accurate. I found Alex by chance, and I couldn't be more pleased. My now husband and my two boys wanted to make it official and do an adoption. My ex was making it hard to do, even though he had not been in there lives for over 12 years and no child support. Alex didn't give up. He fought for us and got it done. The adoption is official. I was referred to Katherine by a friend. Katherine and her Team really set the tone for my experience by being very prompt with a response after my initial inquiry. Amanda was exceptional. Similar to wanting a doctor with great bedside manner, she was an outstanding lawyer. She is intelligent, calm, kind and methodical.
