Penny was outstanding to work with during my divorce. She listened to what was really important to me and guided me through the process with facts. I really liked that Penny was always available to answer my questions. It did not matter if it was after hours during the week or the weekends, Penny was always there to help. She always made me feel that I was the most important client she was working with. Due to the size of our assets, I would ask Penny to run through different scenarios and advise me what was best. This was extremely helpful to me as I made decisions on how to handle asset division. As I child of divorce myself, it was extremely important to me that I did not become a “every other weekend Dad”. Penny understood how important that was to me so she fought for it and was able to get a 50/50 custody arrangement for me.

Bill was kind and understanding of my limitations, and worked within my limitations to get things done.
He does not put on airs or arrogance. He is an ex-Veteran (Army)...and down to earth.
He was gracious to my family especially my daughter as he believed he was fighting for her.
His is a small firm and you are not paying for a lot of the extra frivolties of large firms. Because of this, he was able to arrange a payment plan when I had little to nothing to give at the beginning.
He is just a no nonsense man who knows the law backwards and forewards.
He is not a typical suit and tie shark lawyer only wanting money. He works for the money you pay him and he works with you on payment.
His fees and payment arrangements were reasonable and fair and flexible.
He made sure I understood the law as well as he did. He explained things thoroughly so I was never wasting my time with misunderstandings and confusions.
He negotiated intelligently for me with the other lawyer throughout a complex divorce involving financial and emotional abuse, mental problems, trauma, a personality disorder, disability, and molestation.
He was honest, and put his foot down when I was not following through on my side...making sure I was not wasting money or opportunities...But he did so with tact.
He mediated me a good financial lump sum from my divorce.
My daughter and I are in a good financial situation due to him.
He plans to help me to negotiate down some of my debt with creditors.
He has told me his favorite cases are injury cases...I know he can handle any case with any complexities seeing what he was able to do with my case.
I had to drive an hour and a half each way to see him each time we met....and I have to say that.

Bill kept me informed throughout my entire case. When I couldn't meet during the day he stayed late, when I couldn't take a call during the day he'd set up time to call me on the weekend. I never once got the feeling he was counting the minutes while we spoke in order to bill me later. In fact I'm pretty sure he didn't charge me for all the work he put into my case. Great guy, knowledgeable and the outcome of the case was everything I hoped for and more.

This review is long overdue. I reached out to Joel in 2018 after being self represented for the majority of my divorce proceedings. I needed help with finalizing the remaining steps in my divorce.
Although my divorce was initially filed in the Bay Area and had since relocated to Southern California, Joel was not only able to meet with me on short notice while on a trip there, he was also able to represent me from afar. A few months later, my divorce was finalized with no hiccups along the way.

My lawyer was first rate. She help me put a stop to a lot of the little game my ex was playing. She fought hard and embarrassed my ex and her lawyer. Make my ex admit that i wasnt fighting for revenge but the right to see my daughter. Using they other lawyers claims and evdince against them. Needless to say i still had a field day not bc i watch my ex stuggle... Ok maybe a little bit; yet it was mostly the way my lawyer handle the case. I consulted with Ms. Sadler regarding a commercial lease that I needed help negotiating. She went over the lease with me and pointed out areas that had I signed the lease would have been a very bad mistake for my company. She negotiated on my behalf and edited the lease to make the terms for fair. Ms. Sadler was available and her fees were very reasonable. She was willing to work within our budget.

Working with the law office of Cecelia Soboleski has been one of the best decisions I have ever made since my divorce process started.
I say this because despite the distance and time difference, I currently live here in the Philippines, we were able to communicate well. She manage to discuss the plans and educate me about the case thru zoom meetings and email. She gives you insight but she let’s you decide on everything. Esther represented me in the formation and signing of my pre-marital agreement. Throughout the process, she was extremely prompt, thoughtful, and professional. Esther represented me on visitation Modification Hearing order. She took my case about two weeks before the hearing and worked with me to get the supplemental declaration that needed to be prepared and submitted before the hearing. Liz and her team handled my divorce from day one. She was up front and honest right from my first consultation as to what to expect throughout the process. She was aggressive in working with my ex-husband and forced his hand to get an attorney when he started to play games with us. She worked to get me the settlement my son and I deserved. Unfortunately we ended up in court but she was able to negotiate in the last minutes before meeting with the judge to get the settlement. I had some serious and complicated residual issues from my divorce several years ago, and had previously been burned and set back by a few 'very seasoned' (and very terrible/burnt-out) attorneys, before Kelly. Based on my situation and prior experiences in court, I was fully expecting (and dreading) that my only option would be to return there, and fight for something with little chances of prevailing. I met with Kelly, gave her a pile of paperwork and notes to review, with the agreement that we would conference call soon to discuss her recommendations. During that initial meeting, Kelly impressed me with her both professional and caring review of my situation. She was quick to dismiss/filter things that weren't relevant, asked very direct questions, and outlined how we would progress. A few weeks later, when we conference called to review, she recommended three options, with the dreaded court date as #3 (last). Although I didn't believe that my ex-wife would accept anything, I agreed to start with Option #1, expecting it to lead to #2 and then #3. Kelly prepared what we needed for Option #1, sent it to me for approval, and then presented it to my ex-wife. To my surprise and relief, my ex accepted our requests. I firmly believe that what Kelly presented and how she presented it (tone) nudged my ex into agreement. I think that Kelly means business, and she was able to convey this to my ex in a non-threatening, yet motivating way. She has saved me a lot, because I believe most attorneys would have signed me up for court dates and lots of expense, more concerned for their billable hours than my welfare.

I hired Kelly specifically on a recommendation from a family member. I knew I needed someone who really knew what they were doing for my case, and knew I needed to be prepared for a potentially ugly fight. I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted to be fair, but not taken advantage of in resolving my case.
Kelly was purely professional in her handling. She made sure I was prepared each step of the way, and worked with me to provide a fair and equitable settlement of my case.
While Kelly is not the cheapest attorney out there, I knew going in that you get what you pay for. And I knew I better be prepared for a fight and not need to, rather than need to fight and be unprepared. Kelly's fees were reasonable for a top flight attorney, and quite frankly one of the best investments I think I have ever made.

Mr. Matisoff agreed to take over my divorce case a few months ago. He sees discrepancies and knows what actions need to be taken immediately. At my first consultation, I told him I was looking for an attorney with integrity that would assist with a fair settlement for me and my kids in a high conflict divorce. I did not want to have to worry about questioning what I was being told or be left out of the conversation. He told me to meet with my then attorney first to see if a resolution could be found with the current support issue and try to get back on the same page with that attorney. I did as Mr. Matisoff suggested and realized I got more clarity from a brief phone conversation with Mr. Matisoff than I had in a 2 hour face-to-face with my then attorney. My experience with Mr. Matisoff thus far has been unlike that with my former attorneys. I received my monthly invoice today and I am shocked that his billing is more than reasonable. Had I started with Mr. Matisoff, my divorce would have been final long ago, less money would have been wasted and some peace might have been preserved. I don't know that mediation would have ever been possible with my spouse, but I don't think things would have dragged on or gotten out of control. Highly recommended.

I hired Stephanie as my attorney for my divorce, She was best of the best ,the first time I met her she made me so comfortable and stress free .I went thru an extremely difficult and nasty divorce- orders of protection, I had time limits just to visit my own daughter. Ms. Hunnell and her staff were supportive and professional in assisting me with my particular situation which was filled with uncertainty and stress.
Stephanie was there to answer my questions and calm ANY anxiety that arose from legal as well other matters regarding the stressful situation I was facing. She assisted me in decision making and was understanding of my particular financial dilemma.
I always knew that that she could could be reached if not by phone, through email or by leaving her a message. She or someone on her staff would contact me in a prompt manner. This was important and reassuring.

After a reference from a local PD social worker, I was sent to Figiel Law after a horrible experience in court with my initial retained counsel in my contested divorce.
While granular details will not be provided in this review, the circumstances that triggered an email for help came from the place of pure desperation during one of my many sleepless nights.
My email must have validated my anxiety and fear from the events that unfolded in the weeks prior with the previous divorce attorney as Lucas called me first thing next morning, 6:30am to try and put me at ease and determine if Figiel Law could provide support. He spent nearly forty minutes on the phone with me and upon initial discussion felt Figiel Law could help me out of my situation (one that felt helpless from where I sat).
They scheduled me into the office immediately after I retained them as counsel and I quickly sent all my files over for review. At my first visit, not long after the prescreening callback, the firm made me felt like this is exactly where I should be!
Nicholas read all my files in great detail so that upon our meeting, he already had some strategies, asked several questions and provided a roadmap of activities for us to spend our time and focus in order to counter back against opposing counsel with their lies presented in an emergency motion to the court.
All this from our first meeting!
Nicholas quickly drafted the top priorities for my settlement agreement and set appropriate expectations for the various possible outcomes. This was a good strategy as he also armed me with information about custody and parental laws; this was never shared by my previous counsel.
The reason I bother to share this, is that I never realized that I should have really spent more time on hiring and qualifying my divorce attorney as if they were my defending me for my life. As it turns out, contested divorce is really ugly and can turn your life upside down quickly, especially when trying to escape a domestically turbulent situation.
I am extremely grateful I had Figiel Law on my team and because of their support the outcome was in my favor! I am now happy, thriving and healing as I raise my child in our home in peace and tranquility.

Hilary and the team at Tiffany Hughes were exactly the kind of team I needed on my side. Their efficiency and attention to my needs as well as my child matched the level of expertise I was searching for and really wanted for an attorney. Arnie is excellent, understanding and always did what was best for me, whether I knew it or not at the time. He had an excellent relationship with my judge and worked effectively with the GAL and my ex's lawyer to bring resolution to all the issues I experienced.
