I have spent the past 10 years in and out of family court. The cost, stress, and difficulties of the family court system in Illinois have made life very difficult. I have been through two other attorneys prior to finding Tony. My experience with family law attorneys is they just go through the motions and have little concern for you on a personal level, not to mention in many instances they could care less that the family law system is destroying and hurting both you and your children. I recently went through yet another legal issue in family court. But this time I had Tony as my attorney. Tony does something most other attorneys don't. He listens, cares, has compassion for your situation, but most importantly knows how to navigate the family law system and fight to secure the best possible outcome in the quickest fashion. He doesn't waste your time or money and he cares about the people he fights for and their families. I am happy to say this time around I prevailed due to Tony. He handled the conflict and the system like no other attorney I have had over the past ten years. Due to his efforts we were able to defuse a situation that in the past would have cost me thousands and thousands of dollars in legal cost. My issue was resolved quickly and effectively and I felt safe and protected. Great attorney, wonderful man!

Anthony Calzaretta, is a very personable, intelligent, and effective man. Mr. Calzaretta, thinks of every problem that may arise, and every solution possible. I have had another attorney, and he was awful. I had to hire Mr. Calzaretta to fix a very large unnecessary mess, and he does get right to the point. This man wants your very best interest. We came to Julia with an emergency grandchild custody/guardian situation that been totally botched by another attorney. This was our last chance so this time we were very careful and got a lot of advice from people who knew the field and knew the attorneys who was available. Unfailingly, Julia's name kept coming up as a recommendation. We were able to get in to her quickly. The fees are expensive but hers were not out of line with what we were expecting. You get what you pay for! She was knowledgeable and personable at our first meeting. Our case went on for close to a year. I felt like she only had us meet with her when it was necessary so she didn't waste our money. She was prompt at all court appearances and was obviously well respected by her peers and the 2 judges we went before. If we had any complaints, and it was only me because I was so emotional, it would have been that she spend a little more time explaining the process and what to expect. In retrospect, she didn't give us false hope. She can be a little blunt but when we were in court I was glad she was. Coming from the medical field, I compared her to a heart surgeon...a little over my head and all business. She was great in the courtroom, in control and she meticulously presented our case in a manner that was professional and convincing. We got the end results we wanted and she saved us a lot of money by working with the other attorney to get an agreement that saved us from another court hearing. Her office was gracious about allowing us to finish paying our bill in monthly installments. I have recommended her to others and if we ever have need of an attorney for something like this again we will be at her door immediately.

I was given Debra Hockett Clark's name as their top recommendation from a local Des Moines attorney of a different discipline. Debra and I worked together through my very lengthy and ugly divorce that ultimately went to court. To do over again, I would not change a thing and am incredible thankful I had Debra by my side every step of the way. Debra has very high ethics, is extremely organized and always on top of every last detail that both she and I needed to be doing. She is extremely professional and is highly respected by her competition, the court system and their staff. Debra is a very knowledgeable divorce and child custody lawyer. One of the main reasons I think she is a great lawyer is because she tells it like it is. I didn’t always like what she told me to do but I did it. My situation might be different from most. I was a father of 4 and had primary custody of my children. My ex-wife, after I had remarried and moved on, started calling DHS routinely on us. Debra always handled all of these complaints directly. My ex-wife would take us back to court yearly for unfounded complaints. After the 3rd time Debra had added to my decree if petitioner files and looses the case they will be responsible for all court and lawyer fees. This helped keep me out because The court had always ruled against her. The last instance the court awarded me all of my legal fees because none of my ex-wife’s allegations were proven. this stopped all further court cases. If I was doing something Debra though would negatively effect me she told me to stop. She is an upfront and honest lawyer. She tells you how it is whether you like it or not.

Mike, Karen and Kailee are truly the best of the best. Mike's dedication to his clients is second to none. Mike and his staff take a personal interest in their clients more than I imagine a lot of other attorneys/staff do. He doesn't give up and will do whatever it takes to get the best outcome for his clients. His staff is a direct extension of him. I was already divorced, but wanted to move out of state to Texas with my 4 year old son. Mike made it possible. He is a bulldog on a case, he was totally willing to go all the way and nothing slipped by him, he made my move happen. My ex husband filed an emergency temporary order the day before I was set to leave Arizona. We had 3 or 4 court appearances both in person and over the phone and every time Mike made sure we came out of it ahead. My ex kept completely ignoring court orders, so we would refile with more changes to the agreement and win. He is absolutely wonderful to work with, in fact I found this website looking for his contact information since a friend of mine needs a divorce attorney. I have recommended him twice before to other friends / family.

I had a very complex case in San Diego , which required a lot of research, I received a letter from Dept. of Child Support saying I owed $80k, (from owing $0 Support ) I knew I had to get a lawyer right away to fight . I was paired up with Mr. Miller because of his patience and excellent research ability. With his help we were able to bring down a simple misunderstanding to a fraction of what they were demanding. Not only was I impressed but the judge also commended Mr Miller for the research he presented.

Let me put it this way. Tracey interviewed one witness for over 90 minutes, and the other side wanted to settle. Her knowledge of my case went back 15 years, & she found all the evidence and history of the other party with incredible research! Tracey's assistant Brooke was also an incredible researcher, and they were both always available, 7 days a week if I had to reach them with new important information or concerns. After going through two other attorneys in a divorce/custody case that started over a year and a half ago, Sally took over and put an end to the madness. She immediately took action and got the ball moving. She's very direct and honest, and will let you know what's realistic and what she feels the best course of action is (and why), but she ultimately leaves the decision up to you and doesn't encourage you to do anything you don't really want to do.
As soon as I met her and talked to her about my case, I could tell that she LOVES what she does. I felt so relieved knowing that my future was in her hands. She is easy to contact, very quick to respond, and unbelievably efficient. She's a pistol and doesn't put up with any BS from the opposing party.

I knew going in that my divorce and subsequent custody case was going to be messy so I wanted an attorney that was sharp enough to stick to the relevant facts of the case. Sally is upfront and tells it like it is whether you like it or not. She comes to trial prepared for anything a crazy ex can throw at you. This case needed an attorney that could think many steps ahead and she does just that. Peace of mind comes at a price but she has been worth every penny. Michael helped my family with a complex out of state custody agreement. He is extremely thorough, thoughtful, and specific. He knows his stuff and is very truthful. He did not give me any false hopes.
He is consistently available and makes you feel important. He does not forget to return calls or emails. He is courteous and to the point. He sticks to the case and works quickly. The previous lawyer I hired would tell stories and go into a lot of what ifs. This seemed to waste a lot of time and it racked up hours. Michael got to the point in a fraction of the time.

It's never easy to write about or disclose personal information involving Family Law, but I honestly found a good lawyer that performed her work exceptionally, so I feel I should let people know. I screened a lot of attorney's and discussed my personal situation. It wasn't easy re-living the ordeal. I quickly realized that the law is complicated and a lot of lawyers can focus in on one particular area and neglect the others. Other lawyers can hit the panic button and lead you to think that the situation is dire. I was looking for sound advice about my situation according to my legal options. And I found it in Susanne. She really listened and explained the law well. I met with her several times, in her convenient downtown location. I remember I had emailed her a bunch of questions, she brought those with answers to our consultation. Her professionalism and understanding of the law was a huge sigh of relief. I felt better knowing my options and what can and can't be done according to the law. Navigating the courts, can be daunting but she knows exactly how to do it. Susan is not only very knowledgeable about the legalities of divorce, she is one of a kind in my book! She knows the laws and how they all applied to my case.
She always came out on top when we went to court. She was able to represent me in the utmost professional manner as well as what was best for myself and my children.
She also is very aware of the high emotions regarding separation, divorce and custody issues. She knows how to deal with the both parties that are involved, as well as the opposing lawyer!

I used Kelley for my divorce back in 2004. I then had a parental alienation case against my ex-wife that spanned from 2018-2021 where I rehired her. There were about 40 motions in family court and we did not lose one. Kelley also was successful putting together a plan where I was awarded 100% of the court fees and sanctions we requested throughout the three-year period. I have learned the amount awarded (and subsequently collected) was 'historic' for family court proceedings. Kelley is an outstanding and appropriately aggressive attorney that knows the law inside and out. In these years of hearings she remembered minute details of testimony we were able to leverage in the future. I have and continue to recommend her highly.

Kelley Joseph is smart. She knows the judges and the court staff. She was always a professional - inside and outside of court. She always returned my calls. I did a lot of research before hiring her and was impressed with her written client recommendations on another business networking site, where you have to Include your first and last name. All her recommendations were flawless and her clients said exactly what I was looking for. That's the thing I don't like as much here. Anyone can write anything anonymously. I believe what I can prove, and she is a high caliber attorney. I work in import/export and have a lot of assets. I don't have kids but had some complex financial issues and retirement assets to divide. She spent the time needed to explain to me my options, and how assets are not valued the same way. She got me a great forensic accountant. My only complaint was that she hired a terrible secretary for a few weeks then got rid of her, but that caused some delay. Once she was gone it was smooth sailing.
Ms. Joseph could've turned my case into a very expensive long term case. Instead she focused on what I wanted - speedy resolution. Ms. Joseph guided me through the divorce process and made it painless. Her assistant Laura helped me do discovery along with the expert. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a "top notch" attorney in Broward. She's the best.

I hired Kelly after my original attorney did nothing for a year while my daughter lived with my ex who is an addict. Kelly filed and got her drug tested and got me sole custody after she found a supervisor for visitation who finally saw the truth and told the judge. She also found me a sliding scare therapist for my daughter. Kelly knows all the supervision and drug testing people the court used, I highly recommend Kelly...she knows how to help kids. I hired her because my friend used her as a guardian ad litem in his case.
