This Itailian gal has spunk and passion. If you'd like to hire one of the best, I highly recommend this lawyer. She helped me get my kids and my house in my divorce proceedings. Mr. Dunn answered our many questions about how underage drinking could adversely affect our teens. He also addressed the legal consequences for parents who allow or encourage their children and other children to drink in their house or on their property. You'd hire the best heart surgeon, I'd count on Bob Dunn if I needed the best attorney. In a critical situation, his years of experience can make a major difference in the outcomes. Bob consulted with our parents group on issues with teen drinking, parents hosting, and the consequences. He opened our eyes about our responsibilities and how we can help our teens stay safe. He's a great speaker and his presentation made a real impact. All parents and teens should hear what he has to say and benefit from his knowledge. He shared his experience so that we wouldn't have to hire him if the future. That's a great attorney.

He is incompetent and only cares about your money NOT defending your case! A lady claimed I hit her. I had a witness along with proof that it did not happen. He was not prepared to defend me and was a complete bumbling idiot in the court room. He will tell you everything you want to hear in order to get your money then come court time, he shows his lack of balls and experience. Judge Vann was a joke as well. Even he showed no respect for Dowgul. I could have defended myself and done a better job. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy!

Mr. McElwee represented me on behalf of the state in a case where I was assaulted and almost killed in a bar.
Before Mr. McElwee had the cased dismissed without my knowledge there was a very capable attorney handling my situation and was extremely confident we would do well with a jury. For no apparent or explained reason McElwee pulled the attorney I was working with for a year and half and assigned a freshman ADA. She knew little about the case and when she tried to explain it to me she had the time line of events completely wrong. There was supposed to be one more hearing before court and McElwee who supervised this new attorney went into court with minimal understanding of my case. (He never spoke to me). Then he agreed with defense to drop the case. I would have never found out if 3 days later I called the court and asked when my next court date was! He was poorly prepared, he didn't understand my case and let someone who near killed me off of the hook. My recommendation is to not hire this attorney ever.

In one of the most frightening times in my life Craig Mcelwee came through as my hero. I was charged with sale of 20 dollars of marijuana and possession of two grams of marijuana. The outcome was one year ACOD and I could not believe that he basically made my situation a slap on the wrist. During the entire situation his communication was amazing and I know I was a valued client. I highly recommend Craig Mcelwee as a defense attorney.

It's not easy to find a "good lawyer"! People often ask "do you know a good lawyer?" Now after knowing and being represented by Craig Mcelwee, I can honestly say YES! I would highly recommend him and is services. HE is fast and efficient. The job actually "gets done" not dragging on wasting time and money. More attorneys should be like Craig. I hired Gary Smart about 10 years ago through a recommendation from a church member. I was in a very tight legal situation out of Denton County after admitting to being partiality guilt to a crime and believing the detective would hold up to his promise to me of dropping the felony to a misdemeanor. The detective didn't hold up to it, however Attorney Smart was able to get them to change their mind and get me an extremely fair plea deal. The judge even told me "Son, you better be thankful that you hired such a great attorney, stop making dumbass decisions and get your life together". I'll forever be grateful to him fair price/payment plan, his professionalism, and care that he had shown me.

James is a nice man and a seasoned lawyer. My experience with him was unacceptable, however, and I was forced to find a new lawyer. There are four areas that you should address with James, in writing, before hiring him:
1) Timeliness. He was impossible to contact by phone, so I was forced to use only email. His email responses took, on average, about 2 weeks. It usually required a second email from me to get him to finally respond. It took him over a month to create a cover letter. He offered an excuse about “a big court case” early on that caused the delays, but his timeliness never improved.
2) Billing practices. I never got a bill, statement, or log from him, ever. I asked for monthly statements at least 3 times. After pulling the plug with his firm about 1/3 of the way into the process, he kept the $5K deposit, simply claiming “There is not a reserve to be refunded”. Note that my case was fairly straightforward and I only met with time twice and never talked to him on the phone.
3) Accuracy. As noted, the cover letter he wrote delayed the process by over a month. But aside from that, he misspelled my ex’s name in it. It was then that I knew I had made a mistake in hiring him.
4) Infrastructure. His legal assistant was much more attentive and detail oriented than James himself. Unfortunately, the firm had computer and storage problems during the time I was with them which may have contributed to the delays and general incompetence.
I would not recommend hiring James. You can certainly find a better lawyer in the area he serves.

James represented me on a DV case which took some twists and turns. He took care of handling talking to necessary authorities and kept me out of jail. His positive attitude kept me relatively calm through this ordeal and in the end the case was dismissed. I plan on retaining James services for another matter that needs to be resolved because I trust his skill and knowledge to get the job done. I highly recommend him to others looking for a lawyer who won't sugar coat the situation and get right to the heart of the matter. Attorney Huff is no babysitter; she is an excellent attorney. My case was one that many of my friends and my insurance agent told me I was not likely to win. Attorney Huff drilled down to the essence of the evidence and found a nugget that saved my case. We won. If you are willing to follow her instructions & do the client's part, she can move mountains as a advocate. for example, she asked me to make a timeline of the issues pertaining to my case, at first, I was slow in creating one, but she insisted. Doing the timeline cleared & organized my thoughts so our time together was far more productive and we won!
She does not.give free.consultations and that's fine by me; if you are.serious about your case, Attorney Huff will seriously be your advocate!

I first came to know Melissa Gast in August of 2013 when first confronted with the reality that I was getting divorced. Initially electing to represent myself, I found that I could handle everything coming at me just fine, and really benefitted from being a thorough, reasonable, logical, and analytical person. Then, my soon-to-be ex-wife made a series of adversarial decisions that resulted in false accusations, extensive private and police investigations, open-court lies, and everything one could imagine facing in a worst-case scenario. I selected 10 attorneys to interview within the Columbus area, each one of them highly referred by friends, family, and/or legal professionals. I found Melissa Gast on Avvo and she became #9 on my list - with #10 being a stalwart in the field. MY thoughts were that if none of the first nine made the cut, attorney #10 would have to be the one for me. Covering allot of ground in just two days of my search - I came to the conclusion that none of the first eight attorneys were well-suited for the job.
On the way to Ms. Gast's office, I was enveloped with a sense of foregone defeat, and I even dialed the number of attorney #10 on the way and told her I would be to her office in the next hour. I almost cancelled my appointment with Ms. Gast, but decided to see it through as she was the only attorney on the list that I had picked myself.
Meeting me at the door of her small office, Ms. Gast exuded confidence and compassion. I quickly realized that I did not like the used-car sales floor feel I felt meeting with each of the first eight attorneys. Ms. Gast warmly and efficiently moved through a series of inquiries to gain an appreciation for my situation, my life, my family, my personality, and my goals for this term of my life. Taking close and attentive notes on paper as we spoke, she not once lost track of our conversation and I never felt as though I was "just another client". After about 30-minutes of emotional dumping and factual offloading of information, Ms. Gast demonstrated one of her key strengths as she brilliantly recapped our conversation in perfect form and with emphasis in every correct place, demonstrating her ability to listen, think, feel, and work at the same moment.
Cutting to the chase - Ms. Gast stood at my side and represented me with heart, skill, and diligence throughout the entirety of what turned out to be a 33-month divorce and custody war fraught with a multitude of false allegations involving child abuse in what was termed to be a relentless string of allegations of the worst kind that was brightly capped with nearly 12 days of trial. I asked for one thing - for Ms. Gast to protect me and my relationship with my son. Ms. Gast delivered in EVERY regard with poise, and now that the dust has cleared, I find myself with full custody of my little boy (he was 2.5 yrs. old at the outset and 5.5 yrs. old now) and a bright and safe path ahead of us. Not once did I feel like a number or a case or a job. Rather, I was intimately involved and encouraged to participate and contribute to my own defense as Ms. Gast tailored her approach to meet my expectations and stomach for the war... cookie-cutter is not what this attorney offers her clients.
You can spend a great deal more by hiring a marquee name or an attorney with a scorched earth approach to your life if that sort of thing makes you feel good and you can still sleep at night. You can file all kinds and sorts of motions and replies and challenge every micro-nuance of every nuance and
even believe that mythical story about recouping the legal fees when it is all over via some type of award or judgment. But, if you want to preserve your assets and dignity while protecting your family - and especially if you value honesty, integrity, loyalty, compassion, diligence, truth, skill, professionalism, and legal acumen - skip the marquee names and the egos and schedule a consult with Ms. Gast as soon as possible.

My 11 yo son was living with his mother in a mentally abusive environment; very unhealthy and dysfunctional. Melissa was able to not only win permanent sole custody for me after a three day trial (over a year after our motion), she recommended based on this situation to try for an immediate Emergency Custody Order. Although that almost never is granted, we won it thereby saving my son from over a year of incredible stress that would have surely occurred had he stayed with his mom while permanent custody and residence was decided. She is very thorough, knows the law well, thinks of the details that wind up making a difference, writes compelling arguments in her motions, know how to create a line of questioning that gets intended results in a succinct way, is quick in a trial situation to exploit opportunities with pointed questions and is very easy to work with. She came recommended to me from another prominent lawyer in a different field and she couldn't have done a better job. For my money, I wouldn't use anyone else.

Melissa Gast was hired into my child custody case with myself and husband. Him and I were still married but separated and seeing other people. I know that sounds strange but we were married two more years because of selling our home and etc and all he did was fight me in court. My ex took my son from my mother's one day while I was on a job interview he took my son to his then girlfriends home it took me forever to locate him I was devasted. He then moved again with his girlfriend and the address was given through the court system. He would say I was on drugs and I had to take a hair test and I passed it. He then had Melissa Gast appointed to the case through his attorney. Since she came in later hearing all the horrible stories she first ordered my son have supervised visits at my mother's house and he couldn't stay with me at my boyfriends. Then it went to unsupervised visits but my son would have to spend the night at my mom's during overnights then Melissa would call my mom and ask questions about how I was doing and random weird questions about my boyfriend. But it was OK for my son to stay with my ex and his then girlfriend at their second place of residence. She even told me i needed to stay at my moms with my son on the overnight visits and not have my mom watching him my attorney advised i did not have to stay there because this was causing alot of conflict with myself and my mother. Custody arrangements and days were changed multiple times through both our attorneys and Melissa Gast doing nothing but confuse my son. I finally got my own place in hilltop west side area thats all I could afford because my ex destroyed my credit. I could tell she didn't find it as appealing as where my ex lived in hilliard. My son told her he was afraid to live there because gang bangers and drug dealers lived there and over a window that was cracked. I had the whole house remodeled painted floor redone new furniture etc I was so upset because he just came out and said these things when I know he was told by his dad to say these things about my house because he doesn't even know what that stuff is. Over the course of time my ex and his girlfriend would deny my phone calls to my son lie about days and times of sporting events then make a mockery to other parents spreading lies about me when I would go to pratices. Then I actually was able to go to games when I got a schedule from another coach because my ex was the football couch. These people constantly harassed myself, my family, my employer, slandered me on social media. The girlfriend even showed up to my divorce and within a month they were married tells you how crazy this other woman really was. They made up lies about myself and boyfriend posting sexual ads on Craigslist to make us look like horrible people and we didn't. I ask Melissa Gast to show me the proof she never did. She upset my boyfriend in phone call interview by asking about the Craigslist post and ask about his sexual orientation and etc then when he told her she was out of line she apologize 3 times. After all said and done she granted him more custody school placement and etc. Then he would never follow the child custody agreement we had in place. At the divorce hearing my retainer was completed with Melissa and I was going to eventually owe her more money that my attorney was going to have my ex pay. I guess I had a bill but she never sent it to me and the judge at the divorce asked her have you been paid she responds yes so it was closed. Melissa Gast then emails me a 600 dollar balance I said what are you talking about I had paid her about 1300 dollars in about 6 months plus I was paying my attorney. She sent me the bill in an email 6 times in a row. I turned her into the bar association with no help from them. She thought my son was in the best interest if his dad. He now has moved to Florida with his wife for a new job he put in a request no judges signature and just moves! More court. Beware of this lawyer!

Sadly, I've had to deal with my ex for the past 10yrs for various issues having to do with our child, but THANK GOODNESS Jim has been my attorney the whole time! It has been extremely stressful throughout the years and continues to be (YEP he is STILL representing me), but when it comes to knowledge, kindness, understanding and heart he has it all and has been there for me every step of the way. Anytime I doubted his advice or what an outcome may be in court (due to my "worry wart" personality) - I've ALWAYS been proven wrong! He has always been spot on with what he has told me, whether in my favor or not. I have complete faith in him. I've referred 3 people to him (2 of them family members). I was referred 10+ years ago by a co-worker who said he was the BEST! I haven't looked back since. I can only speak on the family matters he has assisted me with (child parenting time, child support, etc.... ) but I most definitely would recommend him to anyone & everyone!

As sad and stressful as divorces are, you expect to hire an attorney who is trustworthy and will do whatever it takes to defend you rightfully. James Lofstrom, however, did not fulfill this for me. He messed up paperwork several times, costing me more money and delaying the inevitable, my divorce. After he finally got the paperwork corrected with the courts (three times total), my divorce was finally overwith. He did not follow through with things I requested him to do, which left me with nothing that I had "won" in the divorce. I lost all of my childhood memorabilia because he did not file papers demanding the items be returned. The only thing Mr. Loftstrom was good at was sending an overpriced bill.

Right when we were about to settle my first case, I got into another minor accident that made my neck pain even worse. The insurance company tried to brush it off as a simple fender bender, but Dennis didn’t let them get away with it. Fred, and his staff, are wonderful and caring people. He represented me on a case, with the upmost professionalism. He was thorough, and efficient. Don't confuse her for an advocate for the abused.
She has high rates & shows little compassion for abused women & children. During consultation, she checks her cell phone often, and has people come in and out of the conference room. She's dismissive and seems arrogant. 🚩
She seems to like the thrill of the games of the court system and in it for money $$ and power. I will not hire Michelle Brooker JD.

Mr. Paul Uhlik represented me in a confusing, extraordinary case in Passaic County, NJ. I was the defendant and he was assigned to me to be my Public Defender. Only hearing not such great reviews regarding Public Defenders, I was concerned he wouldn't fight for me as hard as a Criminal Defense attorney would, but I was unable to afford one. My misconceived notions about PDs was way off because Mr. Uhlik worked diligently on my case. He was vigilant and very kind, he listened to my long explanations regarding the Plaintiff and how this woman was only seeking to rattle me by filing false Complaints against me, and another family member of mine. Today all charges against me were dismissed; I'm glad it's all behind me now, as well as behind my family. Thank you very much, Mr. Uhlik. In which I was referred to Parmele for consultation and possible representation . I agreed to allow them access to my medical files for review to determine further action . In the interim and prior to surgery was working with disability help
Group to establish a case for benefits . Adam neidenberg was my attorney with disability help group . Parmele law firm attached themselves to my disability case and have asked for a percentage , after doing nothing ! They reviewed my case for medical negligence and declined to represent , but are holding to a percentage of establishing my disability case and it’s criminal at best ! Do NOT use them for anything ! The service from the very start was awful. I literally talked with the paralegal Ashley. So many times indicating you DONT represent me ,
But my signature to release my records was used to indicate some connection to receive payment to the point it is holding up my disability payout ! My true attorney felt so bad the with drew their request for payment ! Awful business
