When my divorce lawyer was too busy to complete my marriage pre-nup, she recommended Heather to me, and boy am I happy she did. Deborah Dubroff guided me through a very long, contentious divorce that involved all kinds of non standard stuff (QDROs, out of state moves, spousal support, even a contempt hearing). When I met her, I was immediately struck by her candor, razor-sharp wit, and her obvious generosity of spirit. What I mean by the last is that she took lots of time with me during our initial meeting and really listened to me. She made me feel like everything would be ok, and it was. I won the entire case, including a very large settlement. She strikes me as extremely honest. She always charged me very fairly. To sum up, I think that Deborah is sort of the antithesis of the lawyer stereotype. She really cares about her clients and their outcomes. She doesn't overcharge. Esther represented me in the formation and signing of my pre-marital agreement. Throughout the process, she was extremely prompt, thoughtful, and professional. She followed up with me regularly when things were stalling with my fiancé's counsel. Esther represented me on visitation Modification Hearing order. She took my case about two weeks before the hearing and worked with me to get the supplemental declaration that needed to be prepared and submitted before the hearing. With only two weeks to prepare she was amazingly over prepared, confident and aggressive and did a great job. She had things finished well before the deadline and made it, so I didn't have anything to worry about. I was really impressed. She was available immediately by phone and email she never hesitated to give 100%. Esther was good at listening to me and knowing what to say to get the judge to see what was really going on. she was genuinely concerned about what was in my child's best interest and was very fair. I hired Stephanie as my attorney for my divorce, She was best of the best ,the first time I met her she made me so comfortable and stress free .I went thru an extremely difficult and nasty divorce- orders of protection, I had time limits just to visit my own daughter. Yet, because of the incredible work done by Ms. Hunnell I got lots time to spend with my daughter and a very satisfying divorce. Ms. Hunnell and her staff were supportive and professional in assisting me with my particular situation which was filled with uncertainty and stress.
Stephanie was there to answer my questions and calm ANY anxiety that arose from legal as well other matters regarding the stressful situation I was facing. She assisted me in decision making and was understanding of my particular financial dilemma.
I always knew that that she could could be reached if not by phone, through email or by leaving her a message. She or someone on her staff would contact me in a prompt manner. This was important and reassuring.
She was also there for me when needed in court and her manner in dealing with the professionals there was respectful and professional. I also felt that those professionals we encountered extended that respect and professionalism to her.
I felt her manner with me to be supportive and instructive.

After a reference from a local PD social worker, I was sent to Figiel Law after a horrible experience in court with my initial retained counsel in my contested divorce.
While granular details will not be provided in this review, the circumstances that triggered an email for help came from the place of pure desperation during one of my many sleepless nights.
My email must have validated my anxiety and fear from the events that unfolded in the weeks prior with the previous divorce attorney as Lucas called me first thing next morning, 6:30am to try and put me at ease and determine if Figiel Law could provide support. He spent nearly forty minutes on the phone with me and upon initial discussion felt Figiel Law could help me out of my situation (one that felt helpless from where I sat).
They scheduled me into the office immediately after I retained them as counsel and I quickly sent all my files over for review. At my first visit, not long after the prescreening callback, the firm made me felt like this is exactly where I should be!
Nicholas read all my files in great detail so that upon our meeting, he already had some strategies, asked several questions and provided a roadmap of activities for us to spend our time and focus in order to counter back against opposing counsel with their lies presented in an emergency motion to the court.
All this from our first meeting!
Nicholas quickly drafted the top priorities for my settlement agreement and set appropriate expectations for the various possible outcomes. This was a good strategy as he also armed me with information about custody and parental laws; this was never shared by my previous counsel.
The reason I bother to share this, is that I never realized that I should have really spent more time on hiring and qualifying my divorce attorney as if they were my defending me for my life. As it turns out, contested divorce is really ugly and can turn your life upside down quickly, especially when trying to escape a domestically turbulent situation.
I am extremely grateful I had Figiel Law on my team and because of their support the outcome was in my favor! I am now happy, thriving and healing as I raise my child in our home in peace and tranquility.

I had a very complex case in San Diego , which required a lot of research, I received a letter from Dept. of Child Support saying I owed $80k, (from owing $0 Support ) I knew I had to get a lawyer right away to fight . Dawn is an amazing attorney who listens to your needs and doesn’t treat you like another dollar. Her clients always comes first (male or female). She handles your case swiftly at a reasonable price. She handled my daughter’s divorce and it was difficult because the other side refused to get an attorney himself and he also didn’t know the law and thought if he did nothing that nothing would happen. There aren't enough good things that I can say about Catherine Anne Gacquin. She represented me in my divorce in 2009-2010. She held me up when I thought I would fall. I filed for divorce in 2005. It took over 3 years to finally get my dissolution of marriage completed in 2008.
Since, 2011 I have basically been litigated against by my ex-wife and her new attorney non-stop. My other attorney (who was also a family friend) quit because she got tired of handling it and I started handling everything Pro Se.
In June 2016, I finally had enough and asked another attorney friend of mine to a family a referral. He recommended the office of Christine Derr. Christine put Kim Hamill on the case.
I want to tell you that Kim is probably the most capable, most well prepared attorney that I have every worked with.
Kim meticulously researched and countered all the opposing attorney's issues, resulting in ALL his motions basically being denied. As a result the case, that has dragged on for YEARS now looks to finally be coming to an end even though Kim has only been on a case a short time.
I emphatically recommend Kim Hamill for any family law case that you may have. I am sure she is probably just as capable in other areas of law as well but I have not personally see her in those areas.

I used Kelley for my divorce back in 2004. I then had a parental alienation case against my ex-wife that spanned from 2018-2021 where I rehired her. There were about 40 motions in family court and we did not lose one. Kelley Joseph is smart. She knows the judges and the court staff. She was always a professional - inside and outside of court. She always returned my calls. I did a lot of research before hiring her and was impressed with her written client recommendations on another business networking site, where you have to Include your first and last name. All her recommendations were flawless and her clients said exactly what I was looking for. That's the thing I don't like as much here. Anyone can write anything anonymously. I believe what I can prove, and she is a high caliber attorney. I work in import/export and have a lot of assets. I don't have kids but had some complex financial issues and retirement assets to divide. She spent the time needed to explain to me my options, and how assets are not valued the same way. She got me a great forensic accountant. My only complaint was that she hired a terrible secretary for a few weeks then got rid of her, but that caused some delay. Once she was gone it was smooth sailing.
Ms. Joseph could've turned my case into a very expensive long term case. Instead she focused on what I wanted - speedy resolution. Ms. Joseph guided me through the divorce process and made it painless. Her assistant Laura helped me do discovery along with the expert. I hired Kelly after my original attorney did nothing for a year while my daughter lived with my ex who is an addict. Kelly filed and got her drug tested and got me sole custody after she found a supervisor for visitation who finally saw the truth and told the judge. She also found me a sliding scare therapist for my daughter. Kelly knows all the supervision and drug testing people the court used, I highly recommend Kelly...she knows how to help kids. In September 2014 Josey represented me in a complex child support issue with a judge that was also known to not fair well towards fathers. Through aggressive negotiation with the courts probabation department I was able to feel better about the outcome there than it would have been in front of the judge. The outcome was favorable, my child support ended that day and I believe the negotiation was fair to both parties. It was a relief to know that Josey's experience with this court, and in particular this judge, spared all parties from any further court visits prolonging this matter. Joanne Payne assisted me with a difficult probate matter involving children who have gone through trauma and emotional abuse at the hands of their father. A guardian ad litem was also involved. Having dealt with a number of divorce attorneys , Mr.Salvatore is a welcome change from the norm.The firm came highly recommended and did not disappoint in any way . I was facing a charges for what was basically something I wasn't even a part of, (Needless to say I'm no longer friends with the person who put me into that whole situation in the first place).
