Roxanne Mosley offered quick, efficient and reasonably priced services that lifted a longtime burden off my back. It was worth it to let Ms. Mosley handle everything so that I didn't need to travel to Southern California in person.

A couple year ago I got arrested for Peyote. For those who don't know what that is; It's a spineless Cactus plant that the Natives uses for Ceremonies (Prayer Meetings). Which I didn't know at the time was Classified as a(drug), an Illegal substance?! Anyway, I was racially profiled by a Police Officer, and eventually consented to a search upon which he discovered a small amount of peyote in my bag. I was arrested and charged with a Felony. I contacted Roxanne Mosley right away, and got her on the Case. About 18hrs later I was released from the Alameda County jail. In less than a Month the case was thrown out. I was a free and innocent man once again. Without proper representation the System can swallow you up. Her passion is to avoid that by any means. I'm just one out of many, that I have knowledge of her helping. And she can definitely help you. Thanks to the Law Office of Roxanne Mosley! I've known miss Mosley for several years, and I personally Consider her as a Professional ass kicker when it comes down to what she does. Now I keep her in my front pocket. :) So if you need a real good Lawyer, whenever you need a good Lawyer; don't hesitate to call on The Law Office of Roxanne Mosley. She'll work for you, work with you, and make you feel secure working with her. You deserve the best!....Me? "I trust only those who are trust worthy!" With that I say; ......Much Success Ms. Mosley!

Roxanne was pleasant but relentless in pursuit of justice fo my case. She was thorough when it came to the evidence in support of my position and well prepared. Due to her experience, I retained peace of mind and was very happy with my outcome.

I am a local immigration attorney who needed some legal counsel from this firm. They came highly recommended by another well known attorney. Unfortunately, this firm is a HUGE disappointment to all consumers alike. I hope someone at big business reads this review. There is no onboarding process for this firm. None. You are at the mercy even as a colleague of poorly trained staff and assistants to get someone to pay attention to your case. The communication with this firm has been awful. Emails unanswered. Phone calls ignored. The firm waisted about 2.5 months of my client's case only to send a snarky response that they decline to represent, which is not what we were looking for (we needed a second opinion on case value). The employee (law clerk) who was assigned to our case left midway our project. No one got back to us on that. In sum, take your business elsewhere as I would say this firm has a chronic internal management problem that will continue into representation. If my prospective clients in my firm were treated this way, I would be fired on the spot and rightfully so. If my staff treated anyone the way we were treated, they would be fired on the spot as well for cause. Take note!

I engaged Luke to help with a child custody case after dealing with former spouse who fought dirty. The initial meeting with Luke was promising, he pointed out things that needed to be clarified, however Luke never took action. 3 years (and $85k later) nothing had materialized. Beware of expensive lawyers who claim they can help. Big disappointment to Luke’s “services” is an understatement.

Carl Gunnstaks (aka C. Luke Gunnstaks, Carl Otto Gunnstaks) was hired as my divorce attorney in August 2016. Gunnstaks misspelled my name on his Gunnstaks Contract for Services. A Limited Power of Attorney had my name misspelled and listed 3 different ways in this one document. My driver's license was not requested in order to officially and legally notarize said document, had it been, these errors would not have been made. The date was changed and I was not requested to initial change. I revoked this Limited Power of Attorney (LPOA) to which Gunnstaks responded that he could not have any communication with Opposing Counsel unless I gave him explicitly and approved authorization/instructions to do so. When I forwarded a message with explicit, easily understood and approved instructions, I received an email from Gunnstaks stating that I had to reinstate this LPOA before he could have any correspondence with Opposing Counsel. I had to remind him of his first instructions to me, “the explicit and approved/instruction authorization etc.” Only then did he begin to comply with his own instructions. Opposing counsel wanted changes made on the final divorce decree. Gunnstaks made this change to my Divorce Decree without my knowledge, consent or approval and forwarded said changes to opposing counsel. I had to be “Pro-Active” in order to get information to the Opposing Counsel on a timely basis. An example is: Gunnstaks Office told me Gunnstaks was out of town from October 18th, 2017 to the 25th, and would not be reading or answering my correspondence that I forwarded to him on the 19th, until his return on the 25th and only in the order to which his emails were received. When I questioned Gunnstaks about this on the 25th, as there was an item that was to be returned to the Opposing Counsel's office by the 23rd, his response was that Opposing Counsel had a copy of the Schedule filed with the court of when he was absent from his office and Opposing Counsel was aware that he, Gunnstaks, was out of the office from the 18th – 25th. Gunnstaks then forwarded along with that email a copy of this Schedule he was in reference too. It showed that he was only out the 18-20th. I then emailed him to point out that Opposing Counsel would not know of his absence until the 25th because it was not on the Schedule. Gunnstaks forwarded the wrong final divorce decree to me after other changes had been made and did not review it before sending it to me for my signature. It was sent to me with these instructions: “Please forward your signature to our office for entry of the Decree with the Court.” This was not forwarded to me for “Review.” I had to hire another attorney to proofread all final Divorce Decree documents to make sure all matters of the Divorce Decree were correct and legally written. Changes to my personal real estate property descriptions had to be made or would become an issue for a title company should the property be sold in the future. I have learned that 5 Star Reviews can be made by employees. I wrote Gunnstaks and told him that I did a Review Search for him before I made my first visit to his office (under the name of C Luke Gunnstaks, unaware that he has used Carl Gunnstaks). I also stated that I felt 5 Star Reviews should only be made by a Client, not employees. Gunnstaks denied that any of his employees have ever left a review for him, however, I have found two reviews that have the same names as his employees, one current and one that is no longer with his firm.

I have been in a high conflict abusive custody battle for over 12 years now. Luke came to me through me through a friend that knew my situation. My ex fled with our son to another state and had abducted him and alienated me. I've had supposed "good" attorneys before but Luke is beyond "good", he's excellent and exceeds in his field! He is a hard worker, and looks for the truth of the matter. He is genius in the courtroom, and a perfectionist on any and all court documents that are drawn up. His staff is extremely helpful, professional, and have it together. He his well known, and is one of the best that does what he does. Although, he's hard to get ahold of and that's just because he's always busy. He always answers and is responsive, to my questions and concerns, through his staff. I've had attorneys that I had to educate, not him!! The only thing is that he can't do the foot work that I can do, as far as, documentation and filing out things that are of my knowledge and experience. I don't want an attorney, I've had them, that will do things like charge for filing out discovery. He is a man of integrity, brilliance, and a heart of gold. If you need some poop cleaned off your shoe from courts and exes, he's the one who shows you how to get it off without getting it all over yourself. He has done what I thought was not possible and got the work done, and cares.

Please do your research before hiring an immigration lawyer! We decided to reach out to Taft Law regarding an E2 business visa. We were told during our consultation that it would be around $6-8000. We talked it over and decided to go with them. We had a few more questions about the process in the next following days and we had told them we were going to go through with it and pay a retainer. After the first initial email we got from them me and my wife decided that we were no longer interested in pursuing that visa. Not because of the law firm but we decided that it was too risky of business for us and decided not to proceed. I sent them an email saying I was sorry and no longer wanted to proceed and apologized for wasting there time and that I was going to pay them for there time they had spent on our file. We had a 45 min consultation, a 15 min phone call followed by a 20 minute phone call. We had no idea that every second of each phone call was being billed out at $480/hour. Long story short they charged us $1740 for a Zoom Consultation, 2 phone calls and an email. And they said that price included things that they didn’t charge for as well, as if they were giving us a break at that price. I feel like they threw the charges at us only because we were no longer working with them. They quoted us 6-8k for the visa and they did about 5% of the work and billed us $1740? Something doesn’t add up. Unfair billing practices! I don’t expect them to work for FREE but $1740 for an email, 2 phone calls and a consultation is ridiculous. I would highly suggest you go elsewhere where they are more transparent with their prices. We are out the $1740 but it’s probably best as there quote of 6-8k would probably end up being 10-14k.

His license should be revoked for malpractice. I contacted State Bar of Texas a few times. Money is the root of all evil, and I pray people like this God will handle. To many times he avoided me, over the years, a case by default judgement and he said he never collected. There was a Lien placed on the property so they wouldn't sell unless we got paid, but guess what ? I did my own research and someone got paid because the apt. Complex was sold, and the Harris Cnty records ,show that my case was paid, but never received a penny. Don't waste your time.

Mr. Richards is a Godsend!!! I had know idea what to do!! I just got my second DUI in one of the toughest areas in Oakland County (W, Bloomfield) and I was losing my mind!! First he calm me down and he lead and guided me through the process step by step like he could see the future and was honest with me from the beginning! he let me know that I was going to do jail time, but what was important that we was going to concentrate on trying to do all the right things so I wouldn't have to do the Max!! (Which is 93 Days) His Professionalism and his Guidance got me through the process! I did 14 Days, which was a blessing! He took the time to contact my family that lives out of town to let them know what was going on and also my Employer and I really believe that what help me keep my job!!! And if anyone knows about the process with the courts on DUI's you need money! I can't thank him enough!!! Its nothing easy about this situation or the process, but he made it easier to digest the situation I put myself in!! He's My Friend, My Brother and My Lawyer!! Thank You for Guiding me and getting my life back on track!!!

Hello I'm a single father and the twin cities. My son's mother has made it very difficult for me to be in my son's life. I speak from experience. Travis is a true gladiator! When representing his clients he spares no expense when fighting for you to be in your child's life. It is an honor to recommend him at the highest levels of expectation. Fortunately for me I have Travis on my side who has years of practice in the justice system, and has the experience and not just family law, business law, and criminal defense law with a appellate court practice. Literally at One stop shop. He takes the time to explain best possible outcomes, as well as the realities of least possible outcomes. In addition to this his retainer and hourly rate are very reasonable. I strongly recommend his services and legal support to anyone in my network in need of the best representation in the legal market. Thank you for reading!

I am astonished at the reviews based on Ms. Cooper's billing practices as I found her firm's bills to be exemplary! Her bills are thorough, fair and much more detailed than my previous attorney's. Aside from that, Ms. Cooper's legal acumen is superb. She navigated me through an incredibly complicated divorce and custody agreement and went absolutely above and beyond what I might ever have expected. She is a realist, with a global and long term view and a very human side. She is a sophisticated, fair-minded fighter. I cannot recommend her highly enough and will continue to use her firm for all of my legal needs.

Stephanie R. Cooper represented me in a family law case. I ended this attorney- client-relationship due to the fact that I was repeatedly double billed and none of the short-term goals we had discussed were achieved after Stephanie had gone 40 percent over our retainer agreement. Additionally, keeping discussed deadlines was an issue. I did not like the way she communicated with me when I brought my unhappiness about the above mentioned points to her attention. Therefore, I cannot recommend this lawyer!

Mr. Heaney has represented me a few times. His fees are reasonable, especially when he decided to take one of my tickets through an appeals process, which he suggested would be in my best interest. We had to meet at two more court dates, but he never charged me more. He said it was part of his service. I gave him a gift card for a steak dinner when it was all done. It was the right thing to do after all he had done for me. I have confidentally referred him to others. He is busy, and because he is working on cases, he is not in his office much. He keeps in touch calling from his cell phone and and checking with his office. He and his office have always been the ones to stay in touch with me. He is a very nice man and pleasant to work with. One of the worse lawyers I have ever dealt with, non responsive and the only way you'll hear from him is to ask for more money. Doesn't provide enough information on your case at all, until you LOSE EVERYTHING. Doesn't have security parameters to protect all your personal information sent to him, amazing!!! Bottom line one of the worse lawyers in Miami!!!

When I hired Mr. Adams to represent me it was supposed to be a rather simple case being the other parent was in jail. The other parent ended up getting out and showing up to court. Mr. Adams turned to me and said "We're toast" this is a horrible thing to ever hear from your attorney! The Judge set it over so he could have time to review the case and documents from both parties. Hearing nothing from Mr. Adams and my court hearing getting close I contacted him to see what defense or information he had prepared for court. Stating " I don't even know what this hearing is for" was the response I got. At court the Judge had read all of the false accusations and statements turned in by the other parents attorney and ripped my life apart. Why did I think anything good was going to happen when Mr. Adams never even turned in any kind of defense on my behalf nor did he object to anything that was provably incorrect. To make matters worse evidence left on Mr. Adams voicemail at his work was never even brought up when it would have probably won my case! As an attorney their job is to defend you and fight for your right but family law is more then that. Family Law attorneys are the difference between you seeing your child grow up and because of Mr. Adams I am missing parts of my child's life I can never get back! Making matters worse my child is in an abusive situation that my lawyer could have shown to the Judge, but he didn't and my child to this day is still being abused. As a parent it is your job to protect your child and do whats best for them regardless of what it takes. How could I have known that a wrong choice in an attorney is something that would be such a life shattering experience! The fact that I cry every day and that my child is being abused doesn't seem to matter one bit to Mr. Adams because I've not heard from him. After court he kept saying "I'm sick to my stomach about it" but just as he did nothing in that court room he has done nothing about it since. I have lost the only thing that matters to me in life and cant begin to explain the pain and heartache I live with. All I want to do is maybe prevent anyone else from having to experience it by selecting Mike Adams as their attorney.

In forming our tech services business Michael shed a lot of light on areas that we hadn't even thought of. He was very professional and my partners and I felt reassured having Michael as our counsel.

If you are looking for an attorney that will sacrifice his time and personal life to accommodate your needs Walter is your guy. He will not leave the office until the job is done even if it means he's there for two days without going home. I was very satisfied with his knowledge and work ethic. Great Attorney!

Attorney Mosley is not the one you want if you need an attorney who is attentive and responsive to your needs. On several occasions I had to ask him to follow up. He was hard to reach, sometimes weeks would go by. His personal life was absolutely more important then giving good service. He will charge you thousands of dollars and leave you with no choice to fire him for neglect. Pass this lawyer by PLEASE!

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?

  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.

Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
