Thankfully I have not needed the services of Millar Legal personally, but I know two others that have. The theme always seems to be that Aaron is a highly skilled attorney, without question, but the difference for them was how personable and compassionate Aaron was during an (obviously) stressful and emotional time. I personally know Aaron through other professional channels and can attest to the fact that he genuinely cares for people, beyond just the courtroom. The other great reviews and testimonials all ring true. Easy call to make.

I began the divorce process in October of 2021. At the time, I had different counsel. Nearly a year into the saga, I was referred to Aaron through another family law attorney. Once I hired Aaron, I knew I had the right attorney.
My case was very high conflict. Aaron would ask my thoughts and ideas on the best way to navigate all the roadblocks that were thrown our way. Aaron was always calm. He was a voice of reason. He would ask questions to ensure he understood what I needed. Aaron did not always agree with me. When we didn’t agree, he explained his position and the most likely outcome. He was quick to return emails or phone calls. I could count on a response within 24-48 hours.
My case ultimately ended up at trial. I appreciated Aaron’s honesty and integrity throughout the entire process. He was very thoughtful with all of the motions and exhibits he presented to the Court, as he understood the Court does not have a lot of time to spend on each case. At trial, Aaron was able to take hundreds of pages of information and display them on a spreadsheet that was easy for everyone, including the judge, to understand. During the first day of trial, the Judge held up Aaron’s spreadsheet specific to alimony. It detailed previous martial expenses, current expenses and predicted expenses. The Judge shook it above his head while exclaiming that is how it should be done! While making his ruling, the Judge once again commented how helpful Aaron’s presentation was in determining alimony. Aaron was always in control: control of himself, control of the room, control of the issues, control of the evidence.
Aaron was able to get me full physical and legal custody of my 16 year old, he successfully negotiated that she determine parent time and secured more alimony than I ever wanted or expected.
Aaron and I made a great team. Normally I would approach Aaron with a solution to the latest problem. Aaron was always open to my ideas; he wasn’t threatened by my involvement. I had some ideas that were unconventional but checked off all of the boxes when it came to the law. Aaron was willing to advocate for me even though he didn’t know what the outcome would be. Aaron was very methodical. He was not ego driven. Aaron did what was best for his client, not what was the easiest or most popular. Whether he agreed with me or not, Aaron would always hear me out. My prior counsel dismissed me even when I had what ultimately became the winning strategy.
I will always recommend Millar Legal to anyone that finds themself needing legal representation, specifically in a high conflict divorce case.

Throughout the entire process, from the date I first reached out for a consult, up until the end of mediation, he was honest with me about my options and helped guide me toward the best possible outcome based on my needs. I retained Nick Lancaster when my ex-husband filed for divorce. The case was complicated off the bat because of jurisdictional issues (I moved to Texas with my infant daughter but my ex-husband filed for divorce in Tennessee). Nick helped me understand the UCCJEA and always did a thorough job of explaining legalities in layman's terms.
My divorce/custody case was a legal rollercoaster. Nick was there for me every step of the way. At one point he wrote a compelling motion for modification of a temporary parenting plan that outlined the key points of my case.
When I read the final document, it was clear that Nick understood my struggle on a personal level and was able to translate that appropriately into a legal document. Reading that motion was incredibly vindicating.
Nick was a strong advocate for me as a single mother as I went through a nasty divorce. He used the utmost discretion, but wasn't afraid to go on the offensive when it truly became warranted. Once my ex's behavior warranted the compelling motion I mentioned above, Nick went for the jugular. He won my case as a result. I was awarded primary custody of my daughter & received a favorable settlement from the divorce.
In conclusion, Nick absolutely went above and beyond for me as a client. Nick is a great lawyer, but he's also a good person. He has strong morals. You don't find many lawyers like that--he's a rare breed. I could not recommend him enough.

I had a consultation with this attorney and then chose to retain her. She discussed all of the things she would do during the consultation and those things unfortunately never happened. I was transparent in the consultation that this was a complex custody case. When she entered an Order to Show Cause for my case, it was terrible. I have shown that to attorneys and all of them asked where the rest of it was and stated it wasn't entered properly either. This attorney was 40 minutes late to my hearing and unprepared. When the Judge asked her questions about my case, she looked at me and told me to answer the Judge. I could have done a better job representing myself. I do not recommend her for any custody cases. She sent me invoices where she double billed me for the same service on two different occasions amounting to approximately $1100. She sent me invoices with someone else's address on them. It took about a month for me to get refunded the rest of my retainer. Hiring her was a terrible experience and I am confused by the good reviews. When I retained another attorney to represent my case, he told me that people can pay for good reviews, and he has had cases against this attorney, and she was consistently late and unprepared. If you are looking for representation for a complex custody case, please find another attorney for you and your family. If you look at her account on Avvo, there are five star reviews being entered every two days. I was told that is a site you can pay for good reviews to be posted. I would pay attention to the lower rated comments and reviews for her on lawyers.com. They seem to describe her well. I wish I had seen those before I retained her.
I am editing this so I can respond to JoAnn's response. I spoke in detail to her about my previous attorney in which JoAnn stated I needed to retain her to further eliminate more damage being done by my previous attorney. I did retain JoAnn and never thought I would have ended up in a more damaging position. There is nothing pending on the Court calendar for my case because the attorney I retained after her did their job, was prepared, and on time; the case has been resolved with my new attorney. JoAnn was also out of town excessively, took several weeks to file an Order to Show Cause which was created terribly, consistently missed phone calls from the opposing attorney, and rarely responded to me. I also don't recall her giving me any advice about my case once she was retained; she was only my attorney for one appearance when she was 40 minutes late, unprepared, and didn't know any details of my case. I wish she had responded to me as quickly as she did to my review when she was my attorney. I also wish she put that effort into my case when representing me like she did in her response to my review. I would highly recommend anyone want to retain this attorney for a complex custody case look elsewhere, and at the very least, complete several consultations with attorneys to make sure you find the correct fit for your family and your case.

I called Sarah Gold's law firm to ask about forming a LLC in New York. I did some research prior to my call but was confused as heck and was not confident in dealing with the state. Ms. Gold walked me through the process, answered my questions, and told me her fee. I thought the fee was competitive, keeping in mind it included state fees and public notice fees. We communicated online, she had to search to see if my LLC name was not prohibited or duplicative. I also asked for her to set up a DBA and she did that. It was so obvious that she new what she was doing, a true expert professional . She did all the filing, advertising and DBA in a day and I had what I legally needed hours later. she emailed me copies of the application filing, receipts and most important my official LLC. I would use Sarah Gold without any hesitation and I highly recommend you do too.

I had spoken to a few lawyers prior to hiring Ms Jackson, her consultation was the first one that made me feel heard and understood; like she truly saw the big and small picture. I felt like an actual person instead of another client.
Thanks to her the court process was simple and even my minor stress points were given attention and care through the whole process.
I believe she specializes in custody, but she handled my whole divorce and put down all the mischaracterized accusations thrown my way.
I have a fair and equitable post divorce and suffered no serious damages to credit or other typical post divorce losses. I got the 50/50 custody arrangement I petitioned for and see my child often, and have equal authority towards her well being.
I would hire Jozefa again in a heart beat, and truly believe that if I hired anyone else I would not have been successful in defending myself.

Matt was amazing. I am a nurse and am not familiar with legal proceedings at all. Matt was so patient and kind while explaining things but also did not waste time. He was professional and caring. I had contacted him to ask questions about my accident. As we talked he informed me that I'm not his type client that he would be representing the other driver. However he continued on the phone with me till I fully understood the whole process. He didn't rush me or charge me. I am so grateful for his knowledge and time. Matt Malouf and Jazmin Rivera were wonderful to work with! They made it simple and even when my claim was inevitably getting dragged out by the insurance company they made me feel comfortable with the process and explained my next steps in an easy to understand way. The insurance company listed me as 50% responsible for a car accident made my another person running a red light when I had green.
