We contacted 6 Las Vegas area attorneys before getting a referral to Sagebrush. All others stated that they had no idea how to handle the case, but asked for a hefty retainer nonetheless. Christopher Carson, with his expertise in construction law, was the only person who asked to see the damage to the house in person. Chris and Trent have been open and forthcoming from their fee structure to proofreading I generated. We have gone as far as we could on our own, and now will contact Sagebrush for representation taking the matter in Federal court. Sagebrush is honest, which is the highest complete I can offer

Please take caution! I hired Trent as a court room lawyer! My amazing attorney was moving and I ended up with NIGHTMARE TRENT! He lied from the beginning and didn't even copy a paper of mine!! This evil man did everything I didn't ask and included 2 cases in a one and only chance to settle. He gave himself more than 1/3 after a blackmail deal after excluding me from my own mediation. Evil Trent told me he doesn't get paid to keep my job and doesn't get paid to get me benefits, "I can pay them out of my own pocket"! I hired a lawyer for peace of mind! I was in the fetal position for over a week! I refused the deal because its not what I wanted! HE QUIT! I never spent more than 3 hours talking to him that included a rushed here's the paperwork. I had zero representation and was not brought back to work and Trent didn't pick up the phone! Trent made me want to die!! I was left at home with a lawyer who ruined my only mediation and my job if 24 years. He did though attach a suit that if I received anything he was entitled to it! Trent QUIT WITH NO IF!!! HE JUST QUIT !!Trent threatened my previous attorneywho was leaving town, who tried to help me fix the damage! He threatened him with legal actions! I was aloud only the original paperwork that he didn't even write up , the other party wrote it!! His name was on it. He only represented me in 2 cases but blacked mailed his way into 4 cases settled. Two he only represented me in. I was forced to take him to the STATE BAR which was aware of what he was doing. I had to sign because I was alone with no job! He was forced to meet with me and this evil scammer would not give a CENT BACK FROM HIS SCAM. He was hired strictly for court. I got the mediation because this needed to be settle because my case was a preventable awful situation. I would to God I would have represented myself...He wouldn't give one cent back!! SAGEBRUSH HAS NO MORAL VALUES!! Please don't hire them in anyway!!! Trent was beyond a COLD NIGHTMARE.... !!!! HE GIVES A NEW MEANING TO THE WORD BOTTOM FEEDER !!! 100 percent true and any questions I would love to tell you more!! Although I only knew him for a few hours!!!

This guy was rude. Asked him about a situation I had and if he can help. He was unprofessional. Told me he doesn't take cases like mine. Once I went over again the specifics he goes, not interested. Its not what you say sometimes it's how you say it and I would not recommend these guys, purely low grade stuff.

A few years ago (2018), I contacted Michael Reason, and he replied almost immediately. Details of my case were very personal but he gave me excellent and sound advice, was always available and everything worked out smoothly. The case did not go to court but was instead resolved by Mr. Reason. One of the things I liked about him the most was the manner in which he covered every detail, so I felt very comfortable. I utilized his services again, briefly, in October of this past year, for some assistance and a consult again. I give him 5 stars for intelligence first, then thoroughness, plus the ability to organize everything competently.

I retained Michael to work on my custody case that is still pending. His office staff never knew what was going on with my case and neither did he. I had to constantly remind him what my name was and what our case was about. I received lots of calls from his staff telling me he wouldn't move forward with my case until they got a payment. The payments had already been made and were lost. When it came time for our first court hearing, Michael sent another attorney that was sub-contracted in his place. I didn't know this man or know anything about him. And he sure didn't know a thing about my case. The one thing this other attorney did know was MY EX!! As he and I entered the court room the two of them saw one another and bantered back and forth for 15 minutes. My ex used to work for this attorney years prior. And come to find out, this attorney was a credit repair attorney not a family law attorney. I was livid. I asked the attorney to continue the hearing so that I could speak with Michael and work this all out. The attorney denied my request and went ahead with the hearing, making crucial mistakes. When I called to confront Michael about the situation, he turned into a real jerk and refused to do anything to remedy the situation and demanded that I pay off my bill with him and he was firing ME. What a joke. This guy is a complete quack. Don't waste your time or money on this completely incompetent "attorney". Last I had heard, he wasn't even practicing anymore. Thank God!

Odd how different people have different experiences. Let me just say that I tried to get SS Disability on my own the first time in April 2014 and as had been told by many that I would automatically be declined and was. After this I realized that "the machine" was much bigger than I am and so couldn't fight my claim for SSA Disability by myself. I hired DAA to represent me on a "new" claim with pretty much the exact same information from my first try on March 2015. My claim was accepted and am now on SSA Disability as of March 2015. I received my first Benefit Direct Deposit in November 2015. I am still waiting for the payments that are backdated to last March and DAA is trying to see when this will happen on my behalf. For those of you that seem to be having problems with your claim, my experience tells me that the problem isn't DAA, it is with SSA and the nature of your claim. I always did my due diligence to respond to requests for more information ASAP and had all of my documentation in order before I hired DAA to represent me. The rest was up to DAA and SSA. The agreed upon settlement with SSA included Attorney fees (which are less than I thought they would be) are paid directly from SSA to DAA I paid nothing out of pocket except for having a valid claim and a firm to represent me. I hope this helps.

Tom Standish and his associates, mainly Phillip Spralding, do not practice evidence based law. They are scum bags, who pander to vulnerable females in difficult times to maximize their firms profits. They do not care about the best situation or well-being of children. They more focus on how they can exploit the imperfect system of family law for their maximum benefit. They are racist. I don’t know how they have such a high rating on this platform, but I strongly disagree. I hope this firm, and attorneys of this shallow caliber lose their credibility as soon as possible.

Does NOT have control of cases and what her staff is working on. Upon getting contracted it takes her almost a full year to send out a complete packet to the consulate, then makes up false "Immigration Law's" as to why she hasn't sent it out. When contacted to get a case review she throws her staff under the bus and blames them for the incompetent but surely it's her who isn't cable of having better management. I paid my contract and yet she has not completed her part and it's been over 3 years and she's yet to mail it out to Immigration. I'm currently still waiting.

I hired this attorney for what he claimed was an "easy" case and that he would have no problem obtaining what we were hiring him to do. After several months and approximately $10,000.00 that was paid to him, he stopped all contact with me. He would not return my phone calls, he would not answer emails. I would set up phone conferences with his secretary and he would not attend the phone conferences (this happened about 5 times in a 5 month period). All I was asking for was some kind of update to my case. During these 5 months of being ignored I still received regular monthly bills which showed that he had done nothing regarding my case in these 5 months. One day out of the blue I received a phone call from this attorney's assistant and he informed me that we should not go any further with this case because we had no chance of winning the case. I explained to him that I was not surprised we had no chance of winning the case due to the fact that it had been ignored for the past 5 months and that I was also ignored during these 5 months and all he could say is that he was sorry. I would not recommend this attorney or his firm. Ignoring a client is wrong and very unprofessional and especially when the client had already paid $10,000.00 toward the case. This attorney does not care for his clients or their well being. He will tell you whatever he feels will get you to hire him and then after he receives many thousands of dollars he will ignore you and leave you to hang no matter how important the case is to you. In this situation my career was at stake and could have been saved if the job was done and done properly in a timely manner by the attorney.

I also studied law while in college. This gentleman makes sure he knows his law practice and is also updated to any changes in the government and state laws. Hands down I would always recommend him highly among other practices. He will always fright for the right of truth and justice for his client. The staff is also very friendly and very prompt to answer any questions pertaining to a case or potential case. They are great people!!

I went to the VA for help after 8yrs of service as a medic in Spec Ops. After years of injuries and bad-memories, after having a VA (narcoleptic) psychiatrist fall asleep in a session, the lies and delayed service I met someone who could help me. Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
