Paid an hourly rate for consultation only to be given a business card and some horrible NON-legal advice. I did not retain him as he seemed more interested in getting my check and offered little legal guidance that I needed at the time. Do not waste your time on this lawyer. There are much better options out there.

Stay away from this “law firm” my injury occurred July 2017 and has not been closed yet. It seems like trivial items cannot be addressed at any level from this office. The insurance companies disbursed checks June of 2022 and they cannot figure out the accounting or even get a reduction in liability from the insurance company. They do not respond to emails or provide certificate of deposit for the escrow account to hold the funds while they deal with the medical lien. They claimed they paid out $8,000 in administrative charges and could provide invoices for close to $2000 only. They provided a listing of medical invoices that were unrelated to my claim. Also be wary I was told that they would be taking 33% of the settlement once all invoices were paid but they took it from the top after they collected a referral fee from my wives case. They purport to be client centric but none of their actions fall in line with their 100% bias to their bottom line!

Beth Ufkes came to our rescue when we first moved to the area. As a military family, it's hard to find someone to trust. Mrs. Ufkes handled our case with professionalism and in a timely manner. We had a positive outcome and couldn't be happier! We are happy we trusted her with our family's well being and have the utmost respect for her. She has gained our business for any future needs and we highly recommend her as both a criminal defense and personal injury lawyer. Has luck would have it, she's helped us with both! You can't go wrong with her, she's a winner!!

Ms. Neville is one of the most hardworking attorneys I have seen. She will do whatever necessary to ensure the best possible outcome. She is also honest and transparent which although difficult, is important to manage client expectations. She is blunt, will not just tell people what they want to hear to appease them. Her knowledge, passion, make her an excellent attorney. It also doesn’t hurt that she is an absolute rockstar in trial.

I was pawned off on Ms. Neville because the more experienced attorney in the firm that I had consulted with wasn’t available for my hearing date. After the firm received my retainer she immediately cast doubt upon her own abilities to be successful in my case and told me that it didn’t look good. As my case is still ongoing with a new attorney I can’t divulge too many details but I will say a few things. This attorney did not fight for my case at all. The judge gave my ex temporary full legal and physical custody (a man who abused me for 8 years and only had visitation and 50% legal of our child ) and she didn’t even request visitation on my behalf. I’m not a criminal and have never hurt, neglected or not provided for my child. The judge made her decision based on what SHE felt was a factor and the attorney didn’t object, dispute it or argue on my behalf. When the attorney addressed the judge and went to say my name - she FORGOT MY NAME. Maybe if someone is paying you thousands of dollars you try to remember who you’re standing next to and representing. She also emailed me a document that contained another minor child’s name and when I pointed it out she stated that she had used a prior case document as a template. The amount of time she charged me for was outrageous considering she used other documentation as a template - and I have to wonder if she’s using my information as a template and then sending it to someone else. She also repeatedly got details wrong that I corrected over and over. I gave her a wealth of information and evidence and she stammered in front of the judge. She also forwarded emails between herself and the other attorney in which they engaged in chitchat about their own kids’ play dates while discussing my case! I do not recommend this attorney - find someone who will fight for you and remember your name in court. She also has my case file and a binder full of evidence that she has not given to me despite my requests for her to do so. If you want a copy and paste attorney - she’s your gal - if you want someone who will fight for you and remember your name - keep looking!

Atty. Matthew J. Weinberg is very dishonest person. He is not true to his words of agreement. He takes advantage of people suffering from serious illness the weak, the helpless, hopeless injured person. He’s low moral and low integrity wicked tricky person. I’m speaking of the truth based on my experience when he fooled me after taking the upfront flat fees he demanded he didn’t comply with our agreement to show me the documents first to read before submitting but he didn’t do it. Our agreement to help me prepare the Brief of Appellant on my name. Our agreement that he will not represent me, the job is to help me prepare the documents and that I still represent myself. But he trick me by submitting the documents without presenting to me to read the prepared document After he submitted the documents . He just told me I’m sorry I will not do it again and it will not happen again, he said the next time I will call you when it’s done for you to read the document but he failed and didn’t do as what he said. He submitted the second documents without presenting with me reading it first. I suffered so much stress and depression from his wrongdoings and for what he did resulting for me to have breast cancer because of the wrongdoings he had done taking advantage of my very weak condition because of my severe injury. Mr. Matthew is a liar and untrue person. This testimony is true without malice and without prejudice. I am hoping that the right government department will make investigations and punish this kind of Lawyer for abusive behavior and wrongdoings.

I went to MR Barrow to have a contact made to buy an Estate, He told me that he could take care of it for $2700.00 so I paid him 2000 and he did make a contact for me but he was unable to complete the transaction I hired him to do! I could probably understand paying him 1000 to make the contact but he charged me a 1000 after the contact was made and signed, I just don't think what he did was worth 2000 dollars and I tried calling him and left messages but he never answered me back till he decided he wanted me to pay more money for nothing!! I don't think I would ever use him for anything else, I am disabled but I once was a carpenter but I never got paid for a job and didn't do what I was hired to do! I just wanted to warn people that he is not worth the money or time!!

I was arrested in mid- March 2018 of stalking. This attorney was court appointed due to the plaintiff getting me fired by arranging to have me arrested at my place of work. My attorney came to jail to speak with me for approximately for 20 minutes prior to my bond hearing. He told me the judge would deny me bond, which is what happened. My trial was to take place July 23, 2018. I needed to work to maintain my mortgage and other bills and tried to obtain a work release. I sent a letter to the York county circuit clerk to obtain permission from the judge to work. After not receiving a reply from the court, I had a friend contact the court and she was told the work release request had to go through my lawyer and that the clerk had forwarded my letter to the lawyer. Again, not having received a reply, I had my friend call (leaving a message with an assistant) and send a fax to the attorney – still no reply. I attempted to call my attorney from jail but the phone would cut off if the number called went to voice mail, which was the case. Finally, I sent a letter to the attorney to the address that was on a business card that the jail provided. The letter came back as “address unknown”. The address was the same as listed on the attorney’s website. This process took over a month. In early May, my cell door opened at 5 am. I was told by the block officer that I had court that day. I had not been previously contacted that I would be taken to court on that day. I was taken to the courthouse and placed in a holding cell. After several hours I was led to a small room where this attorney was present. He said something to the effect of let’s get you out of here. There was a plea deal and knowing I needed to return to my job, I accepted it – with the court providing paper work that stated I accepted the plea deal after having had an opportunity to go to trial. I would rather have gotten the work release and stayed in jail until the initial July 23 trial date. I wanted to present evidence at the trial that proved that my accuser had lied. Had I not accepted the plea deal that day, this attorney would not have been prepared to effectively represent me. The 20 minute meeting prior to my bond hearing was our only contact and he never asked for evidence. Steven Barnette did not inform me of my new court date and I believe he did this knowing full well that I needed to work to pay my mortgage. I further believe he allowed me to be “surprised” so that I would be willing to accept a plea deal and he would not have to put forth much effort in this case. Mr. Barnett showed a lack of professionalism and a lack of integrity.

I hired Mr. Hantzes to support me in a wrongful termination case. I strongly recommend that you find another Lawyer or Firm. I would give him a zero-star rating. To gain my trust, he said I had a case. After a couple of months of calls and emails, he finally sent a letter to my former employer. I was offered an amount slightly larger than what I had been offered originally. However, it took forever to get this done. The letter he sent probably took him 1 hour to draft and I had to draft a good part of it because he failed to understand what the issue was about. In my opinion, he has complete disregard for your time, feelings, or experience. He just doesn’t want to be bothered after he collects his $3.5k.

THERE IS NO FREE CONSULTATION, AFTER HE BOMBARDS ME WITH QUESTIONS AND CANNOT ANSWER MINE, HE JUST SAYS "HOW ABOUT $100?" THEN WHEN I QUOTED FREE CONSULTATION AND APPOINTMENT, HE HURRIEDLY TALKS OVER ME, MAKES UP SOME EXCUSE AND SAYS "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" AND HANGS UP WITHOUT ALLOWING ME TO SAY ANYTHING. I hired Mr. Wigodsky to handle an accident case. It has been a few weeks since it was settled, and I am still processing the fact that this enormous weight has been lifted. When I made the decision to hire an attorney, he was #1 on my list. After speaking with him and the team, I knew that this was who I wanted to represent me, and threw the list out. Dealing with insurance companies and other issues surrounding an accident can be extremely overwhelming. With Mr. Wigodsky and his team on my side, I was informed of all developments along the way, and any additional steps I should take. I was able to focus on my recovery without added stress. When my case finally settled, I was thrilled. It took me a while to put my thoughts into writing, because there are no words that describe just how impressed I was with my attorney, and the firm's services. You will not find any other attorney who is more competent, dedicated or experienced in this area of law. The support staff also went above and beyond. I wanted the best on my side, and I knew I had it in Mr. Wigodsky. I hope that I never get into another accident, but know without a doubt that I would hire him again.

My experiences with this law firm were bad. First, my parents set a trust up through them, but they failed to ensure they signed all the paperwork, which required us to go through probate. (This isn't all their fault for sure, but I've gone through all of my dad's papers and I never came across any reminders.) Because of their familiarity with the estate , we hired the Seidl firm but worked almost exclusively with a paralegal who was unavailable whenever we called, but she required us to drop everything when she needed us. We were unhappy with her service but wanted to put the probate ordeal behind us. That became more difficult when we got a letter in the mail informing us we had been dropped by the law firm after paying about $10K. To add insult to injury, I asked them by email and by phone to send me bill documentation, which my CPA requested, but they haven't produced this yet either. It's possible you will have a better experience if you work with another paralegal -- or Mr. Seidl directly, who was kind when I talked to him -- but I would recommend you look elsewhere for estate services. They made a difficult situation worse.

Ms. Baumgartner is amongst those attorneys that reads and writes plenty, but expends little effort, in my experience, to understand her client. My firm hired her to write a contract to purchase a franchisee and then subsequently to represent us in a dispute with a franchisor, but she was clearly ill-equipped to negotiate with another attorney. We ended up firing her because after four years of ownership of a franchise she had represented only her own billable hours. At hundreds of dollars for a single one of those hours you might reasonably expect an attorney to be able to negotiate verbally as well as in writing, but that is regrettably not the case with Ms. Baumgartner. She's average (and not poor) only because she can draft contracts, but even then be aware of - and wary of - her expensive verbosity.

I feel services could have been handled much better. If i did not call to inquire about my case, the process probably would have taken longer. I am not even sure if i met the attorney but once, The service you advertise on TV does not mirror the service i received. Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
