It is with a grateful heart that I write this attribute to a woman who has been there through thick and thin for my family, and showed us that it is not as stressful a situation we were anticipating. Bettina Altizer, of Altizer Law, PC came to me as a result of just searching for an attorney to assist us with a wrongful death situation way back in 1998. We were in turmoil after the stressful death of my mother in law, and we were so very confused. It was not that we wanted a windfall, that could never replace Mom. It was because of the situation that the person in question was still allowed to possibly hurt others. Well, Bettina understood and fully invested herself, heart and soul, to help us feel that justice would be done. Bettina helped us feel better about this legal matter, and did everything she could possibly do to make it less painful in each and every way, ways that we never even imagined. All calls were taken immediately, or we were called back within a very short time frame, every step of the way we were kept informed of the process and what to expect in the near future. Bettina also let us know that we were not bad people for doing what we felt was the right thing to do. Eventually, the case settled, and the ability to prevent future misconduct to someone else was totally satisfied. We felt vindicated that we received the justice we were seeking, and the comfort and care of Bettina and her office staff made us feel as if we were with family the entire time. My heartfelt appreciation has never wavered, and yes, there was a subsequent situation we sought her assistance for in 2008, a personal injury situation. We received all of the same care as the initial situation, nothing changed, and we were treated like family. If I ever need an attorney, Bettina Altizer is the one, no question. I thank God for directing me to her initially. Claudia saved my life! I met her at one of the lowest points in my life. My husband at the time left me with 2 kids, no family and/or financial assistance. I was far away from home. Claudia took a genuine interest in the lives of my children. She became my friend during a long custody battle. When things got tough,so did she! Breakout Capital hired Doug in May 2017 after he served as external counsel helping the company secure its first credit facility. Since that time, Doug has negotiated an extension of that facility plus two additional credit facilities, led the diligence and negotiations on prospective M&A transactions, and served as a key member of the executive team, where his duties extend well beyond just legal. In addition to being extremely thoughtful, diligent and hard working (consistently one of the last to leave the office), Doug is very pragmatic and able to isolate the key issues that are worth pursuing. He is also very adept at juggling multiple tasks simultaneously such that nothing falls through the cracks. One of the most admirable qualities about Doug is that he is very fair and even-handed. Though he consistently fights to get the best deal he can, he recognizes the need to be transparent and fair in any negotiation with counterparties.

Simply put, Doug is one of the top attorney's I have ever worked with. We initially hired Doug's firm to provide counsel and draft the documents on our first financing. Doug took the time to understand our business model so he could better communicate how certain clauses in the financing structure could positively/negatively impact our business. I hired Tom Passarelli in 2016 to represent and defend me in a legal civil matter. Tom was able to research my 10 year old case involving multiple lawsuits with same party. Tom was able to see that the lawsuits were filed improperly and was able to dismiss them and relieve me from fighting a lawsuit that was wrongfully filed. Tom researched my case and found problems what my other 3 lawyer's had missed.

From the moment I met (online) Ms. Vaillancourt, I knew I was in good hands. She started by introducing herself and explaining that she would be my lawyer for the day in court. She made sure I had been given my questions of what the trustee would ask of me so I would be relaxed at knowing exactly what to expect. When I arrived at the courthouse, she began explaining everything that would happen in the courtroom. I came in somewhat scared and worried, but she calmed any fears or concerns by answering all of my questions before we went into the courtroom, even the ones about the smallest details. Once in the courtroom, and before we started, she explained again, step-by-step what the procedure would be, where I would sit, where the trustee and his aides would sit, what they would do, and I felt myself beginning to relax. I watched other lawyers go up with their clients and was amazed that they were no where near as prepared as we were. I had all of my information ready, and so when I saw that one person ahead of us still had not filed certain paperwork, I knew again I was in good hands. When my turn came to go before the trustee, Ms. Vaillancourt sat beside me in front of him when he asked questions, and gave me assistance when I did not understand a question, and helped me through the whole process. When the trustee asked me questions, I answered in yes, no, etc, and I was done in only about 5 minutes, unlike the persons who had lawyers from a different office. It had taken 15 minutes to half an hour for them to go through the questions. She is smart, professional in manners- knowledge- and appearance, and answers all of the questions you have. She is very knowledgeable in the law, in how the court works, and what is expected of her clients. She is very kind and considerate, and understands how hard this process is for people. When she spoke with me outside the courtroom, she spoke quietly so as to not let others in the room hear my information and that showed me I could trust her. I had never gone through any kind of process like this before, so I was grateful that I had Kaitlin with me the whole way. And, she was concerned enough about me to do a follow-up to see how I was doing. Total care, kindness, knowledge, and responsibility for her clients.

Kaitlin(Katie) is an amazing attorney. She responds promptly to emails and telephone calls. Kaitlin was assigned by Robert Weed to handle my bankruptcy. She did a great job She responded to all emails including one from my parents and answered questions Concerning my bankruptcy and the garnishment case. When I went to the hearing for The garnished wages I was very nervous and she eased my nerves by telling Me that it would be ok. We ended up losing that case but I really felt comfortable With her. I retained Brandon for several cases, and if I ever needed representation again, he'd be the first lawyer I'd contact. When I hired Brandon, my life was taking a nose dive but his extensive knowledge of the law came through for my family. He represented me in my divorce and fought an insurance company to make sure they paid me my fair share when a drunk driver hit my home. Largely due to his diligence, my family now is doing great and we've moved on from those issues. The one thing that comes to mind when working with Brandon was my peace of mind knowing that he had everything handled for all my cases. I call him a great defender because, he fought tooth and nail to speak for me. In the beginning I tried to do it on my own and realized it was bigger than me. I even did mediation with party involved through the EEOC, and I felt like I was being bullied. After talking it over with my family, I sought out a lawyer. I met with Mr. Bybee and his team, and they was so kind. He heard my side of the story and said I had a case, so I hired him. From there, every time I had a mediation with the other party he was there to speaks for me. I no longer felt like I wasn't being heard or I was just a small person in a big company. We spoke on the phone and even through email. If he didn't write back right away, I knew he was in court defending another person. When he was done though, he always responded. When my case came to a closing we did settle and I walked away grateful to him. He is a very caring and family oriented man. He always asked how me and my family was doing and even when my case was over, he checked on us doing the holidays. I am grateful to this man and his team. If I have to use him again, I will be calling.

Vanessa and her team walked me through what was the most complicated circumstance of my life. When I shared the story of my circumstance, she asked many questions about home life behavior and immediately made recommendations to rule out other factors relevant to a divorce proceeding. The plan which was put in place uncovered information I was completely blind to and provided me the detail to begin the fight of my life... for my children. She was responsive, timely and thoughtful. I had an injury on the job and honestly didn't know where to turn. Between the pain and worrying about my bills, I needed someone on my side. I hired Mr. Simmons as my criminal defense lawyer. He was exceptional. He dealt with all my precedings from start to finish. Mr. Laufar not only approached the case as requested, he also introduced other variables that resulted in a larger award. He explained parts of the law that we were not aware of at the time. Had we gone to Mr. Laufar 6 months earlier, we would have had a much larger award than obtained at the end of the case. If any follow-up work is required, we will definitely go back to Mr. Laufar and we do recommend him for any legal action.

We hired Adam to assist us with starting our new business. Adam met with us to help us understand the types of corporations and what worked best for us. He worked with us on our operating agreement and walked us through the entire trademark process including warning us about scams that may show up afterward (and they did!). Adam also reviewed and recommended changes to the terms and conditions and privacy policies for our website. Our business is food and agriculture-based, and he assisted us to find other resources we needed to ensure we comply with VA law. He's responsive, knowledgeable and professional. We even hired him to help us write a contract for our nanny. If we need a lawyer we call Adam. Don't tell him I said this, but I'd probably pay him more for the service he provides.
