He's handled four visa applications for me and each experience was flawless. For my current job my employer asked I use their immigration attorney and it gave me perspective on just how good Howard is at what he does. What takes Howard an average of 4 days days took this other firm 3 1/2 weeks and then they messed up the application which left me stranded abroad while they fixed their mistakes. I will insist on using Howard for any future jobs - he is prompt and professional.

Howard Shapiro represented my wife in her green card application several years ago. He subsequently represented my wife's parents in their green card applications, both of which were highly successful. He is extremely smart and knowledgeable. If your household or company is seeking an attorney for Chapter 11, she is the one. Mr. Long did a jury trial for a family member of mine and was very well prepared and aggressive. It was a sensative criminal matter that needed a lawyer who would fight hard and work hard, and Mr. Long exceeded our expectations. When Randall Rich was an LA County Public Defender, he worked very hard to follow up on every name I gave hime that was pertinent to my case. He was extremely supportive and responsive, and he believed in me from the start. You cannot convey on paper what Mr. Rich does for his clients.
Attorney Rich is not intimidated by anyone or anything, and that was important for me. I meet him while he was a public defender, in fact he was assigned to me because of a serious matter I was facing, attempted Murder!
I was talking to my friend in the hall of the courthouse before my arraignment. I said, after my arraignment I was going to get a private attorney to represent me (I figured a public defender was a waste of time) .
There were several attorneys waiting to enter the court room in the hall, and one over heard me talking.
This attorney called me over to him and said, "you need that guy, I know what you are facing and trust me, you need him". Of course he was referring to Randall Rich, but at the time I knew nothing about him and was very apprehensive, after all he was a public defender, and they never care or do a good job of defense, YEAH RIGHT, he soon debunked that myth. It was a self defense case, I shot a well known thug who attacked me on my birthday at my workshop. This guy had a history of assault and I did not, but unfortunately 22 years earlier I had acquired a felony and was lead to believe that all my rights had been restored some years after the conviction. These rights would have included gun ownership, but that was the "linchpin" the district attorney hung his case on. The gun was inherited in an old tool box that my father owned, and sat in my shop for few years until discovered. I cleaned the old gun and kept it in the shop for protection as the shop was in an alley, with a less than stellar reputation. Well to make a long story short, I was attacked by this thug who wanted trouble. He was angry he was not invited to cigars and cognac during my birthday celebration. He grabbed me and picked me up with one hand and threw me against a parked car, being much older and smaller, I knew I was in real trouble. A friend of mine, an off duty police officer tried to intervene, but it was too late. During the scuffle the gun went off (it was in my pocket) and he caught a ricochet in his shoulder. The district attorney saw an easy win, or so he thought. The DA brought charges that were so over the top, that several judges made comment to this fact. Attorney Rich told me not to worry, and went toe to toe with every opponent.
Mr. Rich vigorously argued with the Judges and the district attorney, letting them know that we would not roll over and "plea bargain" simply because we were threatened with a 25 year to life sentence.
Mr. Rich gave me the choice to decide on these matters, and was willing to proceed in any direction I felt comfortable. I knew at my age life would be over if this case was lost, but something about him made me feel confident. I remember the judge of my trial gave me a honest comment. He told me " you are facing a lot, and the offer made by the district attorney (5 years), was not bad considering". I looked at Mr. Rich, he looked me square in the eyes and said this is it, what do you want to do, I said proceed to trial.
Mr. Rich smoothly handled my case and when it was over with a NOT GUILTY verdict, we walked out of the court room to a crowd of attorneys and county personnel that had been watching the court room video monitors. We were greeted as if we had just won the Superbowl, and in a way we did. This was the greatest victory of my life! Mr. Rich served me justice, as clearly without him, I am positive that I would have been incarcerated for years as a innocent man.
I still consult attorney Rich in his private practice when ever I have legal business issues relating to my customers. I was surfing the net looking for his Fax- number and come across this site. I just had to say something about this man.

My case successfully finished yesterday. Thanks to Vera I had all of my fines waived. I'm in love with her - she looks like a doll. She has a good energy. It felt like she was rendering the decisions at the court not the judge. Judge was repeating whatever Vera told her, or so it seemed like. I highly recommend this lady, you won't regret it!

Dealing with Immigtation and Homeland Security requires an attorney who is knowledgeable and assessable. Maria has been both!
I am a professional who wanted to have my wife's Green Card application process done in a passive way for us. She did this!
She told us exactly what documentation was necessary and that which was valued more highly than others. Her attention to detail was wonderful. It is the details for sure, that they are looking for.
Example- you know you have to provide bank statements, but what type, and also, are you using the account? I had no idea, but my attorney did.
At some point in the process, it appeared like we would have to submit more proof, and our attorney prepared us for this.
Fortunately, this was not the case and we were accepted.
But, in the process, we were always very confident because she was behind us.
As for assessability, she is a one person office, and sometimes we waited a short time for email or message responses. But, they always came in good time, and we never felt like a number in a system.
We got the Green Card, start to finish, in eight and a half months!
Need I say more!
Would recommend Maria to anyone!

I would like to thank Mr. D. Schultz VERY much for his kind help when I had a few important questions regarding my small claims case. It was a very difficult situation, as I could not retain an attorney, as the amount involved was too small. Mr. Schultz was very understanding and answered the questions I had in regard to technicalities. I won the case ! I had won already, but the defendant appealed and retained an attorney. It was a very tough fight. I am VERY grateful for the help from Mr. Schultz, who listened very patiently to my questions. The landlords of the home I had rented for 4 years put the house on the market while I was still living there. I endured 2 invasive open houses where I was asked to vacate the premised as well as required to make the home presentable. When the home entered escrow, construction to shore up the foundation ensued. The foundation work required a crew of 4 to crawl under the one story cabin to dig out dirt.
They started at 7:00 in the morning. I caught one of the laborer looking up from a hole in the floor in my bathroom, feces were left in my backyard as well as a pervasive urine smell. This went on for 3 weeks. The landlord did not reduce my rent or compensate me for this disturbance or my time. Nor did they intend to pay relocation costs when the house was sold and I was evicted. Mr. Fraser was able to secure $5,000 relocation fees and free rent for my last harrowing month in the home as well as full refund of my rent deposit and a little extra for my pain and suffering. This allowed me the means to relocate without further stress.

It would be hard to overstate just how professional Nigel Witham is. After getting arrested for DUI, I shopped around *a lot* for my lawyer, calling at least 15 different law firms. I chose Gold and Witham after calling them and seeing that Nigel Witham (1) knew much more about the court where I was going than anyone else I had called (Nigel could instantly rattle off the name of every judge at that court, as well as their reputation for being either harsh or lenient); (2) he was incredibly professional and polite; (3) he was willing to talk to me for a long time and answer all my questions. I find that some DUI lawyers, like doctors, want you to sit back, shut up, and let the "professionals" handle things. Nigel was not that way: he would always answer any questions I had about my case or about the DUI process in general.
Yes, he was a bit pricier than some of my other options. But he was well worth it. Where some lawyers whom I talked to told me that they would have me go to court alone on certain pre-trial dates, Nigel went instead of me and didn't even ask me to come along! He saved me countless trips to court in the run-up to the actual hearing date, trips I would have had to make if I hadn't had a lawyer or if I'd hired a cheaper, more hands-off lawyer.
Nigel knows his stuff. Ask him any question, however bizarre, about DUI law in California, and he can give you the detailed answer right away.
Furthermore, he and his secretary treat you with the height of professionalism. Nigel was professional even when I was not. About a month after my sentencing, I had to reappear in court after having missed an alcohol education class that I was court-ordered to go to. It was 7:30am in the morning, I was due in court at 8am, and I was lost in Westminster (I had left the house without directions because I had been sure I knew how to get there from memory). I called Nigel at that time in the morning, practically panicking about the fact that I was going to miss my court date by being late (to not appear in court when you are told to appear is very bad! I don't suggest you try it!). He calmly helped me out and got me to the court on time. Bear in mind, this is AFTER my original court date, and technically, he was no longer my lawyer. Our original contract only said that he would be retained as my lawyer until my sentencing took place. Well, here I was, after my sentencing, having screwed up on my probation, lost, calling him at 7 in the morning in a total frenzy, and he still helps me out even though he is no longer getting paid for it. You will not find another lawyer who will do that for you in the manner that he did, I feel pretty certain.
Anyway, I ended up getting my DUI charges reduced, and I was only convicted of a Wet Reckless. Mainly this was due to the facts of my case, but it was also due to Nigel's hard work on my behalf. The important thing is this: with Nigel as my lawyer, I feel confident that what I got was the best I could have gotten. With some other lawyers I talked to, I probably always would have wondered if they had really done the best job possible to get me the best deal possible. But I know that Nigel did.
