Thankfully I have not needed the services of Millar Legal personally, but I know two others that have. The theme always seems to be that Aaron is a highly skilled attorney, without question, but the difference for them was how personable and compassionate Aaron was during an (obviously) stressful and emotional time. I personally know Aaron through other professional channels and can attest to the fact that he genuinely cares for people, beyond just the courtroom. The other great reviews and testimonials all ring true. Easy call to make.

I began the divorce process in October of 2021. At the time, I had different counsel. Nearly a year into the saga, I was referred to Aaron through another family law attorney. Once I hired Aaron, I knew I had the right attorney.
My case was very high conflict. Aaron would ask my thoughts and ideas on the best way to navigate all the roadblocks that were thrown our way. Aaron was always calm. He was a voice of reason. He would ask questions to ensure he understood what I needed. Aaron did not always agree with me. When we didn’t agree, he explained his position and the most likely outcome. He was quick to return emails or phone calls. I could count on a response within 24-48 hours.
My case ultimately ended up at trial. I appreciated Aaron’s honesty and integrity throughout the entire process. He was very thoughtful with all of the motions and exhibits he presented to the Court, as he understood the Court does not have a lot of time to spend on each case. At trial, Aaron was able to take hundreds of pages of information and display them on a spreadsheet that was easy for everyone, including the judge, to understand. During the first day of trial, the Judge held up Aaron’s spreadsheet specific to alimony. It detailed previous martial expenses, current expenses and predicted expenses. The Judge shook it above his head while exclaiming that is how it should be done! While making his ruling, the Judge once again commented how helpful Aaron’s presentation was in determining alimony. Aaron was always in control: control of himself, control of the room, control of the issues, control of the evidence.
Aaron was able to get me full physical and legal custody of my 16 year old, he successfully negotiated that she determine parent time and secured more alimony than I ever wanted or expected.
Aaron and I made a great team. Normally I would approach Aaron with a solution to the latest problem. Aaron was always open to my ideas; he wasn’t threatened by my involvement. I had some ideas that were unconventional but checked off all of the boxes when it came to the law. Aaron was willing to advocate for me even though he didn’t know what the outcome would be. Aaron was very methodical. He was not ego driven. Aaron did what was best for his client, not what was the easiest or most popular. Whether he agreed with me or not, Aaron would always hear me out. My prior counsel dismissed me even when I had what ultimately became the winning strategy.
I will always recommend Millar Legal to anyone that finds themself needing legal representation, specifically in a high conflict divorce case.

Throughout the entire process, from the date I first reached out for a consult, up until the end of mediation, he was honest with me about my options and helped guide me toward the best possible outcome based on my needs. I found Nicholas on a site while I was in a highly abusive relationship.

We were beyond pleased with the professional, pro-active, and supportive experience we had with Justin. We hired Justin to help our son with a legal issue in Logan. He is very knowledgeable and experienced, which gave us confidence and piece of mind. As our case had some specific nuances with little precedent in Utah, Justin did his own research and read the information suggested by my son to make sure he was both fully prepared for any legal implications and to understand my son's reasons for involvement.
Justin personally guided us through multiple court appearances. I really appreciated his willingness to be available to my son and us for questions and concerns as the process continued.
Along the way, Justin was pro-active in working with the prosecutor which resulting in having some of the charges reduced and some dismissed. In the final court appearance for sentencing, Justin responded quickly to an unexpected comment from the judge and pressed just enough to reach a wonderful outcome.

I got myself into a bit of trouble and sought out the most reputable lawyer in Salt Lake City and his thorough and detailed attention can’t be overstated. I always felt that I was in safe hands through the entire process. This was my first time dealing with the court system and I don’t live in Utah so it was a pretty confusing situation. Dear Penny.
Where to start, I came from a family that the Patriarch makes the decision (right or wrong deception or not). I contacted Penny some sixteen months ago when my brother showed up at my home with
a codicil. I was told my mother had a trust in 2010 this was a complete falsehood. He had pilfered my mothers accounts created a mortgage on her paid for home and sold our family cabin. During which I was never told of any of these transaction (remember I as a woman am not allowed to question). When I found Penny she was so understanding and took my case to protect my interests and my mothers legacy. She is a fighter not intimidated by the court system or the family that represent those that mean you harm. I was most impressed that she was always available and responded even on vacation with her family. Another example: her daughter was in collage and a close friend had passed away, she picked up her phone to take my call (above and beyond the call of duty) yet still comforted her daughter. They don't make people like that anymore (remember I said people not just lawyer) Oh she's a lawyer,someone you can trust to always be there and prepared, and have the ability to explain the complex legal system for myself and husband to understand. I strongly think if you are in my position you should speak to her, before you are deceived by conviction that program you for failure (to be subservient) you deserve answers. Penny will get them!

I am grateful and amazed how professional and fast Garrett Handy worked on my case. My case was basically lost and only had a few months to start a lawsuit or lose it forever. I went to talk to Garrett. We reviewed my case. He was hesitant to take it since three lawyers took my case previously. The three of them did basically nothing with my case except to keep it in their office forever and I didn't know what was going on. One of those firms was Siegfried and Jensen; they are only known due to advertising, but have nothing close to what Garrett has: Lots of professionalism! After reviewing my case a couple of times, Garrett decided to take my case. He started working on it right away. We opened the case at the beginning of January and we had only until July to win or to lose. Well, surprisingly, five months later I got my first check as part of the settlement. Then in a month or two, I got the rest of the money. I even took a picture with Garrett for my personal file, since this was absolutely a won battle. Garrett, you and your team ARE AWESOME!!
