We were beyond pleased with the professional, pro-active, and supportive experience we had with Justin. We hired Justin to help our son with a legal issue in Logan. He is very knowledgeable and experienced, which gave us confidence and piece of mind. As our case had some specific nuances with little precedent in Utah, Justin did his own research and read the information suggested by my son to make sure he was both fully prepared for any legal implications and to understand my son's reasons for involvement.
Justin personally guided us through multiple court appearances. I really appreciated his willingness to be available to my son and us for questions and concerns as the process continued.
Along the way, Justin was pro-active in working with the prosecutor which resulting in having some of the charges reduced and some dismissed. In the final court appearance for sentencing, Justin responded quickly to an unexpected comment from the judge and pressed just enough to reach a wonderful outcome.

I got myself into a bit of trouble and sought out the most reputable lawyer in Salt Lake City and his thorough and detailed attention can’t be overstated. I always felt that I was in safe hands through the entire process. This was my first time dealing with the court system and I don’t live in Utah so it was a pretty confusing situation. Justin was honest and forthright with all angles, from the what ifs and what could be to this is what will probably happen. I was pulled over by UHP in Tooele County, Utah in March of 2017, leading to several misdemeanor possession counts of marijuana. As a California resident and student, as well as a prior record, I was extremely woeful of my situation.
I called Smoland Law and spoke to Dain. He explained to me the best course of action. If I had questions, Dain would respond within the day. A few months later, I received an email from Dain, letting me know that my case had been dismissed. Without the valuable services of Dain (other attorneys wanted 2-5x the cost of Smoland Law), my life could have turned out very different.

I live in another state and was finding it difficult to expunge my misdemeanor. I could not understand the lingo and could not physically show up to any court hearings. After a year of trying to do it all I my own, I found Smoland law and it was the best decision ever! During the course of a ten-year (!) lawsuit that was eventually heard by the Utah State Supreme Court, Greg was an absolute rock. The case was more complex, longer-running and higher profile than I think any of us expected, yet Greg's professionalism, attention to detail, compassion and care for how I was feeling, and complete determination to make sure justice was served never wavered. The day I actually called in regards to an accident I was involved in I never really expected to end up with any type of settlement much less the maximum that they were able to get me. I knew nothing about what steps to even take and Samantha from the beginning made me feel I didn't have to. I let them alone to do what they do and they updated me as needed. I was fortunate enough to work with Melissa several years ago for a DUI that came during an extremely difficult time in my life. There didn't seem to be much hope initially, but I became more optimistic when we won the hearing for my driver's license. Next up was the suppression hearing in front of a judge that is apparently notoriously tough. We were the last case to be heard that day, and after sitting for several hours and witnessing every singe case before mine have their motion to suppress be denied I wasn't feeling particularly encouraged. What I witnessed over the next 40 minutes was truly masterful. Melissa's experience and training allowed her to pull on the thread that was the state's case, and when it was over there was nothing left of it--case dismissed! Best day of my life, and one that I have never taken for granted. It was clear from the first court appearance that Melissa has the respect of her colleagues, both defense attorneys and prosecutors alike. She's not only very knowledgable but has a presence in the courtroom that is evident to all. I never felt like it was just another day at the office for Melissa, she doesn't lose sight of the gravity of her clients' circumstances. I should have written this review a long time ago, but I am extremely grateful for what Melissa was able to do for me in my time of need.

I used Scott for the divorce. He explained a lot of extra things I didn't know was involved. He is honest not overly expensive like a lot of other companies are. I learned some of the laws involved with getting divorced. Utah is extremely different than Texas. If you're looking for a good divorce lawyer, I definitely recommend Scott.

We needed to probate an estate in Utah, but we live in California so we needed to work from afar with someone local . Based on our Utah contacts and recommendations, we chose Dara. Her management probate of the estate was incredibly fast and efficient. She is terrific in dealing with credit card debt. We hope not to have to hire her again, but if we needed to we'd do so in a heartbeat.

Reed rescued me from a very legal situation that began when my ex wife refused to pay the debt she incurred by stealing my identity and then not making the payments on the credit cards she had gotten in my name. She agreed to pay these in our divorce decree. After almost 20 years of attempted garnishment of my income, he ended this for me, and brought me closure. Case closed. He's amazing! After being told by several attorneys that I had no hope of ever having these stop, he had them stopped in a very short time, and now I have peace knowing they will never come after me again for debt that was never mine to begin with. Grant Miller was the greatest lawyer ever. He believed everything I told him about my case from day one after just one phone conversation. He told me we should fight my case to the end and he always said that he thought we would win. He also was supportive with my anxiety and stress during the whole 4 years of fighting my case. He brought me nice dress pants, shirt, tie, and shoes for trial. When I doubted my case, and the chance of beating a 2nd degree felony, he reassured me that I need not stress that he always believed in my story and that we a good case and he believed we could beat the case. He was also supportive of my wife and her stress and worries during the 4 year ordeal. In court from opening statements, to witnesses for both sides, to his closing statements he was just phenomenal and what every client could ever ask for both in the courtroom as well as out of the courtroom. He made sure to explain things in detail for a better understanding of everything going on. I have to say watching him with the jury using the whole courtroom while presenting the opening and closing statements and the connection he made with the jury was for me and my family was beyond words. One of the bailiffs told me from watching Grant work while in the courtroom that I had the A-team in attorney fighting for me. After winning my case I was so happy and pleased with the work Grant Miller did that I would tell anyone who I might ever talk to who, and has a case in Salt Lake County that I would recommend they request or hire Grant Miller as their attorney. I could have not have asked for anyone better than Grant Miller to fight my case. If I ever had another case I would hire Grant Miller as my attorney with no second thoughts. Thank You Grant for everything you did for my case, you are an unbelievable attorney.

Going through a divorce has been the most stressful thing in my entire life, and it is not something I could have done on my own. Before contacting Shane, I had interviewed several lawyers over the course of a few weeks. By far, I felt the most comfortable with Shane and Kayla. Dear Penny.
Where to start, I came from a family that the Patriarch makes the decision (right or wrong deception or not). I contacted Penny some sixteen months ago when my brother showed up at my home with
a codicil. I was told my mother had a trust in 2010 this was a complete falsehood. He had pilfered my mothers accounts created a mortgage on her paid for home and sold our family cabin. During which I was never told of any of these transaction (remember I as a woman am not allowed to question). When I found Penny she was so understanding and took my case to protect my interests and my mothers legacy. She is a fighter not intimidated by the court system or the family that represent those that mean you harm. I was most impressed that she was always available and responded even on vacation with her family. Another example: her daughter was in collage and a close friend had passed away, she picked up her phone to take my call (above and beyond the call of duty) yet still comforted her daughter. They don't make people like that anymore (remember I said people not just lawyer) Oh she's a lawyer,someone you can trust to always be there and prepared, and have the ability to explain the complex legal system for myself and husband to understand. I strongly think if you are in my position you should speak to her, before you are deceived by conviction that program you for failure (to be subservient) you deserve answers. Penny will get them!

I was falsely (I know I know) charged but didn't have money to hire a lawyer could not be appointed one by the court, the DA dropped the charges down to an infraction which means no possibility of jail time there for they will not allow me a public defender, I was given Shantelle's information and gave her a call.
