Joann goes above and beyond for her clients. You could not be in better hands for representation during a DBA case. She puts in the work needed to address every angle the insurance companies will use to discredit you and your case. My case took 4 years to complete, I started with Jill, (another talented lawyer at the Mara Law firm) and switched to Joann for the last 2 years. I could not be more pleased with her representation from start to finish! The nature of my injury was a traumatic brain injury which interferes with my ability to remember what I experience from day to day. I am self-conscious about my disabilities and I know I probably called and asked the same questions a few times, but Joann and the Mara Law Firm staff were always very responsive, easy to contact, and never made me feel bad or even pointed out that I had already called and asked the same questions previously. Damon Forney spent a lot of time explaining how he could help me before I decided to retain him as my lawyer. His senior paralegal, Dianne Jones, truly listens and cares about my situation. I feel confident that I made the right decision with this law firm. My initial hearing for spousal support went very well thanks to the preparation on their part. I'm sure that future hearings will go just as well.

Honestly, any time legal is involved there is always a sense of uneasiness and uncertainty. From the first meeting with Damon he was great gave me a few pointers for legal advice as well as personal advise of how to cope with the issues. When things came down to the line Dianne did a lot of the coordinating with myself, one thing I appreciated was that no matter my mood she was calm and collected and could help ease my mind. Dianne provided me with many great resources to help me understand the process, to include documentation, conversation and youtube videos. The whole team made the process easy. In the hours and meetings there they always asked about me on a personal level not just worried about making money off the case. They were there to answer questions on COVID and always got back to me in a timely manner. One thing that impressed me was Dianne made me write my coffeshop memo, basically telling my story so they could better understand what they were working with. They also ensured all the documentation was appropriate and correct something, they had great attention to even the smallest details, what I saw through the process isn't true of all firms. Overall I would highly recommend Doppelt and Forney, Damon and Dianne were an amazing team to work with.

I paid him $2500 to help get my son's charge reduced and expunged. We live out of state but the charge was in SD. He took my money and said it should be resolved within two to three months. That was over three years ago. He stopped returning my calls. I spoke to another attorney this week and he said it doesn't look like Donte ever filed anything.
Do not hire this man. I don't consider him ethical. I will be reporting him.

I hired Mr. Wyatt to get my husband resentenced, and he charged me $5,000 and never got one meeting with the DA, never filed one motion, he lied saying he knew the head DDA Dwain Woodley. He had me gather character letters, my husband C-File, he led us on for 8 months. Then he stop answering phone calls, we are left in the dust, and he got away with $5,000 of my money. Do not hire him, he's a scam. He told me he would refund my money, and he just ghosted me. This is not right, and my husband never got a chance to present his case, because we trusted in the wrong Attorney. Do not hire this Lawyer, he's very unprofessional, and he's a liar.

I was told Marc needed some paralegal support, and I needed some representation for a personal matter of my own. I was told by Bobby, Marc's paralegal, that they would trade me service's. I was worked like a dog night and day for this firm, seven days a week and even on easter, thinking I am racking up hours on my tab, while Bobby was giving me every excuse in the book about why I'm not getting my retainer agreement, nor is he calling to schedule my court date. Finally after two months of the runaround, and I've refered him $25,000 in business, I put my foot down and said no more work was coming until I saw my retainer agreement. That's when the 180 degree flip where I was insulted, name called, ridiculed, and even threatened. At no time did Marc step in to resolve anything. Wondering if just me, I checked with the San Diego court, where I got the number of two plaintiffs charging Marc with professional negligence. I called and got quite an earful about how I was not a unique case. The woman broke down and cried when telling me how Marc threatened her while she was in the middle of leaving an abusive marriage. So if you're a woman especially, I would proceed with caution.

He never called back the first time I booked . The second time I booked he called back but his answers to my questions were vague or he would say "I don't know". His excuse was that he was in San Diego and I was in Los Angeles county and he didn't know what forms to file in family court because LA and San Diego superior courts use different forms but that's a lie in most cases. What a waste of time.

If you have a class action suit this is the attorney you want on your side. Megan won a class action for me and my coworkers who are social workers that put in a lot of unpaid overtime. Megan will be with you every step in the process as well as maintaining great communication. Megan is very efficient and highly professional. Megan Richmond represented me and my coworkers in a class action against L.A. County which resulted in a generous settlement. She was opposed by Sheppard-Mullin with their 600 (more or less) lawyers and unlimited wealth. They probably didn’t want to meet her in court. When L.A . County persisted in its rotten ways Ms Richmond responded with multiple lawsuits for social workers with multi-millions being awarded each time. Ms Richmond is relentless in her quest for justice for the little people and big law firms do not scare her, she simply out works and out lawyers them. How? I have no idea, I just watched her get results for decades. You cannot find a better passionate lawyer for the people.

Michelle is amazing,
Having to deal with my legal issues was stressful. I don’t know what to expect. When I met Michelle for the first time she was easy to talk to, answered all my questions and explained how things would go each step of the way. She was always available to answer my questions. Awful phone consultation experience. Divorce is a stressful experience but to have an attorney debate the abusive reality you experienced and be insentive to the concerns you have in regards to the other parent with young children was traumatizing. I felt belittled and dismissed . I expressedbriefly my abuse with my Russian husband as a black individual and was downplayed “ the courts don’t care about that unless you have proof” with out hearing me tell my full story. She then said well “I’m hearing your side and I don’t know what his side is so …” I’m reaching out to you to be my attorney it does not matter what his side is ! Maybe you don’t want to go against your own Russian people once you realized I’m a black person. She was asking me whether I was Russian or not that shouldn’t even be a factor !I do not recommend this lawyer and will be searching for another lawyer that can listen to my situation with out rudely interrupting me as I’m speaking.

My daughter who resides in Arizona was experiencing difficulty with an old case in California. We were referred to Mr Jarrell who took the reins and got all the information we needed. Since 2013 I have been trying to correct an outstanding balance that was wrongfully charged to me by Directv, they had billed me for a month of service after I had canceled my services, charged my card with out authorization, and after filing a fraudulent charge against them, sent me to collections. I contacted Will mid March of 2015 and with his help by May 2015 The collections was removed from my credit report. I would definitely recommend Will and Crowley Law Group to anyone with a similar issue.

Our case with immigration was extremely difficult. It lasted 7 years. Without Heather we probably would have given up. Heather is a hardworking, smart and knowledgeable attorney who is really caring about her clients. She is very attentive to details. My experience with attorney Terry S Allen was nothing short of a nightmare. He consistently misled me about critical aspects of my case, starting with falsely claiming the prosecution hadn't provided him with discovery. All he seemed to do was repeatedly waive time, allowing my situation to worsen. Shockingly, he even waived my rights without my knowledge, leading to my misdemeanor being needlessly elevated to a felony.
During my preliminary hearing, he shockingly refused to question officers' hearsay, claiming it was not allowed, which is patently false. His incompetence became glaringly apparent when he failed to inform me that he had accepted the prosecution's elevation of charges without a fight.
Even after I fired him over three weeks ago, he has yet to inform the court of his removal as my attorney, leaving me in legal limbo. His excuse of having murder trials to handle whenever he waived time was clearly a lie designed to cover up his lack of interest in my case.
Terry S Allen portrays himself as an experienced trial attorney, but my experience suggests otherwise. Despite knowing the prosecution's case was weak, he showed no intention of mounting a defense. He was paid $12,000 only to receive gross negligence in return.
In summary, steer clear of Terry S Allen if you value your rights and your money. He is a fraud who will gladly take your money without any intention of providing adequate legal representation. His incompetence and dishonesty make him unfit to practice law
effectively.

My experience with Terry S Allen was deeply disappointing and concerning due to his unethical practices that compromised my case and disregarded my rights as a client.
Additionally, Mr Allen displayed indifference to concerns about due process and fair treatment. Mr Allen allowed the prosecution to violate procedural rights without objection or challenge, which further weakened my legal position and undermined my confidence in Mr Allen’s advocacy.
I strongly caution others seeking legal representation to avoid Terry Scott Allen, he should be barred from practicing law.

No seriously. Why would you allow a preliminary hearing to move forward if you haven’t received discovery? And how are you supposedly making deals with the prosecution if again, you haven’t gotten discovery? Why waive time if you’re not going to use that time to actually get discovery, interview witnesses, subpoena medical records, speak to supposed victims. Get police reports.
And if the district attorney doesn’t give you the discovery, wouldn’t you file a motion for it? Why just let it slide and move forward let alone let your client be held to answer. I thought you would be more aggressive as a defense attorney. But to be honest it’s almost like you didn’t show up at all.

I was uncomfortable from the first time I walked into the office. I felt like I was in the middle where they just grind out bankruptcies. I was not happy about filing a bankruptcy but it needed to be done. In the meantime things went from bad to worse my son died and I was in the hospital for a month. When I told them I really wanted to go with a different firm one of their employees told me that they would keep me in court to use all the money. I was talking about small claims court. She was almost yelling at me. I’m thinking about making a complaint with the state attorney board. But I warn you right now stay away from them. I am shortly going to be 74 years old. And the way she yelled at me it was almost elder abuse. I believe their shysters. And due to my failing health. I’ve been delayed and filing a small claims court. To my knowledge you cannot be represented by an attorney in small claims court. But apparently their employee thought differently. Beware

I have been trying to reach my disability attorney for a week and she has not returned my calls or voicemails. Then today I was informed by her answering service that they have been receiving MULTIPLE complaints from many other clients that she has just disappeared for a week, and hasn't been returning anyone's calls. The call center can't even reach her. I get that personal matters come up sometimes, but if she's not totally unreachable she still has the duty to her clients to let them know what's going on with her and when she expects to be reachable. I have a legal date coming up and need to talk to my attorney about what to do, and I can't get ahold of her. This isn't an isolated incident either, as I frequently have difficulty reaching her. It seems almost like she does this as a side business and has other things in addition. This is a one-person operation so there's no one else you can reach if she doesn't return your calls or emails, which is frequent. I am going to look for other counsel. NOT recommended.

Skip and his assistant are unprofessional and wasted my time. They didn’t remember facts of case or even the conversations around it. Set up multiple appointments which they cancelled last minute. Highly recommend seeking other counsel.

So far he's an excellent attorney. Spoke with him directly, he spent some time gathering. Info on my initial call himself. Scheduled in person consult within a week during that phone call. Left me with some research to complete to further my position.
So far he is right to the point, gets things done; a roll up your sleeves and plow through it kinda lawyer. I like it and hope it stays this "full steam ahead".

If you are looking for a law firm to take all of your money, get you sanctioned from the judge, abandon your case and threaten you for more money, then this is the law firm for you!
However, if you are looking for a law firm to help you instead of the opposing party, then you want to find a different law firm!
If you are looking for a law firm with some sort of humanity, then you definitely should find anyone else other than Marcus Family Law!
If you do decide to hire Marcus Family Law, then be prepared to lose all of your money and have them screw you in the end!
