Helen is a sound attorney with a deep knowledge of the law and the procedures and applications in the practie of lawyering. She is a client advocate and attentive counsel to her clients in the community, but also in the coourt room. Additionally, Helen is a professor of law at the Southern California Institute of Law where she teached Family Law, Civil Procedure, and Evidence. Needless to say she is intelligent. I would highly recommend Helen as a lawyer.

I found Mr. Sanger through the review of his peers on this website; then meeting Mr. Sanger in person and having him handle my case, I’m of the opinion that he is truly the lawyer of lawyers. He examined my case from the macro to the micro, and how both sides of the matter might strategize or approach the issue. His office (Sanger,Swysen & Dunkle) is the definition of integrity and ethics. I’m grateful beyond words for his experience, knowledge and professionalism. Despite having a disability, Mr. Zeman was highly efficient, hard working, and caring. He got me a great result in a very difficult case. I was so impressed I hired him for two other matters which he is currently representing me in. Michelle (who used to be with a firm in New Jersey appears to have started her own practice called the The Roberson Firm in California) helped me out with a contract dispute I was having. I work in the media design and development industry and my client's website was hacked. The client went after me because my firm developed their website for them. While we developed the website, we were not responsible for the maintenance and care of the site after development. It is due to the poor maintenance that the website was hacked. This is where the the contract dispute arose.
Many allegations were thrown my way by my former customer's council and none of them were true. They were looking for loss of sales as well as punitive damages. I decided I needed someone with a solid understanding of the law and a lawyer capable of truly fighting for me.
I met with a couple different lawyers and they all had a decent knowledge of contract disputes. Where Michelle stood out was the fight in her eyes, her professionalism, and her instinct to the case. I had thought I was looking for a male lawyer originally (as this is what you usually see on TV being the most aggressive), but I decided Michelle was my ace in the hole. I figured she would be underestimated by opposing council due to her relatively green appearance (she's young, and if you didn't know any better, you'd assume she was inexperienced). However, this is a fatal mistake for opposing council to make.
Michelle fired off a couple of strongly worded letters right out of the gate attacking the "facts" as well as the method that my ex-customer's council was utilizing. Within a couple weeks we received a notice from opposing council that their client was no longer interested in pursuing this matter. I couldn't believe how fast that was resolved! While I had hoped this could be resolved in this matter, I had no question of having her take it to trial if necessary.
The only reason she didn't get a 5 star on "Kept me informed" is, perhaps, I am a bit of a micro-manager and need constant updates. Other than that, Michelle was wonderful and she is now on our speed dial as our official company council.

Whenever you think about retaining a criminal defense attorney review their track record first and whether they have successfully defended their clients. In Josh’s case, in the major criminal cases he has defended, he hasn’t defended one client successfully in trial. Instead, what you’ll see is his clients pleading to often unfavorable terms—making the DA’s job that much easier while earning attorney fees.
In 2010 Josh unsuccessfully ran for District Attorney. Following his lost he was subsequently fired from his position as a result of his behavior. This is all public record. Josh still remains in close contact with the same prosecutors who supported him during his election run; some whom he should be opposing in representing you his client. All of this remains an inherit conflict of interest.
Recommend considering criminal defense attorneys who have a successfully track record of going to bat for the clients.

I was snagged by a checkpoint in Santa Barbara, CA when driving home from a concert on a Sunday evening. I had drank 3 beers during the 3 hours of the concert and just had a slight buzz, yet I blew a 0.09% BAC. Even though I performed well on the field sobriety test, the officer must have had a quota to meet or something like that, since he cited me for a DUI.
I needed to minimize this citation so I went looking for a DUI lawyer. A friend whom Alan had helped in a similar situation recommended Alan to me. As soon as I gave Alan the details of my case he sprang into action immediately, even before I had actually retained him. I was impressed from the get-go and was pleased to hear that his retainer fee was reasonably priced and covered my complete defense.
Alan was able to get the charge down to a "wet reckless" and informed me that there was a good chance that he could prevent my license from getting suspended or restricted in any way. After it was all said and done, he did indeed prevent any driving suspension or restrictions, and I have to attend just 12 hours of DUI class over a 6 week period instead of the usual 3 months of classes.
He told me that he used a novel defense tactic that he had pioneered in Santa Barbara many years ago, and he knew all the DAs and Judges in Santa Barbara, which helped him avoid the DA who wouldn't agree to the tactic by getting my court date deferred to a day which had a different DA. This new DA did accept the proposal offered by Alan, pleasing me greatly since I didn't think I'd be able to minimize the charge as he did.
Alan was confident and reassuring throughout the ordeal. He boasted that he was very good at minimizing DUI penalties, and sure enough, he was right. He's a cocky lawyer, which is exactly what you want in a lawyer.
