It was the best decision I made picking Joel as my lawyer. I had a consultation with another lawyer, that told me I would lose my case, and he would just get me the best deal he could. My case was very difficult, without getting into details, it was a civil case that stemmed from a criminal case. Just an idea of how difficult it was, the civil case was going on for 7 years, and it was finally coming down to a trial. When I met with Joel and his partner I felt confident that they would do everything possible to win my case, and they did! They put in a lot of time, not to mention I didn't leave them much time before trial, but they built their case, and delivered it flawlessly in front of the jury, and I was found Not Guilty! My experience with Joel Medgebow was excellent, very reasonable priced, but more importantly he will work very hard on your behalf. Again the best decision I made!

I hired Ms. Schlegel to assist me in a dissolution of marriage. She responded to all my questions and helped me understand the process. If I had questions, she would timely return my calls or answer my emails -- even sometimes on the weekend. I had filed all my paperwork prior to retaining Ms. Schlegel. The only services she provided me was being there when I went to mediation. Everything was settled at mediation. I was due a refund for monies not used in my account which Ms. Schlegel refused to refund. She also refused my phone calls.

I only met with Mr. Meyer once for a consultation whether I needed to file bankruptcy or not due to two foreclosures ocurred the end of 2012. After reviewing my W2 and the form the two mortgage companies sent IRS reporting abandonment of the property, market value and county assessment, he recommended no need of filing chapter 7, and offered to do my taxes at $500.00. I thought it was a bit pricey.

I’m writing this as a warning for special needs parents who are looking for legal help. We contacted Shay almost two years ago, needing help with a special needs trust and a birth certificate issue. She said she could handle both for us and we paid 3k up front. During the next 18 months, we had to consistently call her office for updates regarding the trust. It took over a year for her to finish writing it, and then when we finally received it, we found she had written the wrong name down for guardianship. A big error!
As for the birth certificate issue, it never got fixed. We would call her office every few weeks for an update. But finally, we just stopped calling and we haven’t heard from her in over 6 months. This entire experience was horrible for us! I’m shocked that her rating is as high as it is on here… We paid her 3k and baaarely got half of what was promised.

Having never been involved in a legal action, we were hesitant to seek assistance when our insurance company flatly denied our claim, after our roof was damaged in a hail storm. I used Kevin back in 2004 for an accident case out of Sarasota County. The trial in case took quite a while but that’s expected. Kevin was absolutely amazing and did an in-depth thorough job. We were referred to Chuck Moore by a retiring attorney who was rated the best in the area. He told us that Chuck was the best he knew and we would be in good hands. Chuck is VERY invested in bankruptcy law and knows everything - he studies tax code and bk law for fun. Not only is he extremely well-versed in the field, he is straightforward, kind and down to earth. He is so enthusiastic about his work and his clients and gives it to you straight but with kindness. The only reason I gave a 4 star review is that he ultimately got the job done!
There was lack of communication, and I found that frustrating. My court date was pushed back the day before my 341 meeting, I don't believe this was due to any error of my attorney. After I expressed my concerns with his performance, he became quite aggressive and generally short and unfriendly!
His assistant, Jennifer is worth her weight in gold! Excellent customer service and always polite and friendly.
What it all boils down to: he was very affordable and ultimately got the job done. Other attorneys may have better customer service skills but charge much more! Good value! And would probably use him again!

Mr. Wood is a very kind man yet seemed more interested in his personal life than taking accurate notes for my social investigation case, which showed in his report, $3,000 dollars later.
He was habitually late to every appointment, he lied to the court stating he works by himself, however, his wife works right by his side and was rude to me via email. The interviews aren’t recorded so the court relies solely on his word.
As I stated he’s kind but it may be time for him to retire. If assigned by a Judge ask for a different social investigator.

Let me start by saying, if I could give more than 5 stars, I'd give him 100! If you need a family law attorney, hiring David Hurvitz is the best decision you will make and will be the first step to getting to see your daughter/son on a regular basis. Mr. Hurvitz made the process of getting custody of my daughters easy, but also as stress free as any custody situation can be. His communication is on point, I never went more than 12 hours after messaging to get a response, and when I contacted him during an emergency situation, he was on the phone with me with 20 min. If I ever need a family attorney ever again (hopefully not but one never knows these days) I will for sure be going to him to resolve my issue. My case lasted 5 years and it wasn't because of Mr. Hurvitz, but you better believe he stayed on top things to keep the case moving as fast as the system would let us go. His prices are extremely reasonable, I didnt spend tens of thousands like you always hear, and he and his staff are very understanding people, and understanding of situations.

I highly discourage anyone from using this attorney. 2 years in. 4 court appearances and I am still not able to see my child. The only thing that this attorney was efficient at was getting payment from myself. After choosing to proceed with out his counsel it appears wants to keep the additional funds that were allocated to his retainer as a show of good faith.
Furthermore, on the subject of my case in particular it was all paint by numbers with no real attention paid to any of the specifics. I consistently had to edit, or completely rewrite agreements, because they were written as is if they had zero consideration for anything we hade discussed or even the sex of the child. I was In a near constant position of having to correct counsel. You would hope this would make a professional assess their shortcomings and redouble their efforts, but in reality the attorney became defensive and recalcitrant with me (his client).
At times it seemed as if things were being drawn out, almost provoked by counsel.
It's a hell of a thing to be removed from your child's life without cause, it's another entirely to have your advocate profit from extending the tragedy.

Adam Ellis in my opinion is one the most awesome human beings our family has ever had the pleasure of meeting. He believed in our son when nobody else did. So many times the parents can be treated very rudely, kept in the dark, Etc. Mr. Ellis not only kept our son informed, but my husband & myself as well. He only had the best interests of our son at heart. Mr. Ellis worked tirelessly on behalf of our son, he never took the easy way out. He knew we wanted to fight and he stood by us the entire way. The case has been resolved, but he is still in contact with our son to make sure all is going well and that he is ok. We will never be able to repay Mr. Ellis for all his hard work and dedication. God placed Mr. Ellis in our lives as our sons Public Defender and we are so thankful. If you are looking for an attorney who has YOUR best interests at heart and who is honest, caring, reliable and in the pursuit of justice Mr. Ellis is the one you need. I called Adam as a referral, and he met the next day with me in my office, which helped me a lot since I could not leave work. I was a basket case, and he was so calm and professional that I immediately knew I was in good hands. He got me in contact with a DMV lawyer to handle that part of the problem and he even attended the DMV hearing! That meant that he had first hand knowledge about the officers testimony, so he didn't have to wait for a transcript to proceed with his motions. He attended all of the court appearances for me, which saved me that time away from work. He knows the litigators and judges at the court very well, so he was able to give me guidance as to what I could most likely expect if we went to trial. He obtained the video evidence and the police reports, met with me to review it together and gave me his opinion about my case. He had already contacted the prosecutor to talk about a plea, and after seeing the videos he filed a motion to suppress. After he filed the motion, he worked with the prosecutor and secured a deal, two days before the hearing to suppress, that I am very pleased with. After the court appearance to accept the plea agreement, he went with me to the parole office to be sure I was okay there, and has proactively checked with me to be sure things are going well and providing me with the paperwork needed to seal the record. Throughout it all, Adam kept me informed about what was going on and what he was doing. I have heard of some cases dragging on for months and months, but I wanted a quick resolution. In two months, Adam had everything resolved for me, and I'm delighted with the outcome.

Background - I was a landlord (in this case) and had some deadbeat tenants who were doing everything they could to avoid paying rent. Lies, excuses - and I was trying to be nice to them. It was completely my fault for allowing things to go on as long as they did, and after I finally got them out of the house, they owed me in excess of $6000 in unpaid rent, not to mention late fees and the work I had to do to get the house back into shape. I tried to no avail to work privately with them, to get them to start paying me something... anything.
Long story short, I got fed up with their lies and excuses, and found out that they actually were "saving (my) money to get married and buy a house" - much different from their sob story of "I lost my job and we can barely make it!" I was angry to say the least.
Mr. Ellis was recommended to me by a personal friend and after meeting with him, I was feeling much better. He assured me that while I may or may not end up with exactly what they owed, he would see it out until the end.
After the initial papers were filed with the court, the ex-tenants were served a suit. We handily won the suit and it came time for the damages hearing... This is another area where Mr. Ellis stood out with his insight, only looking out for my best interest. Although we won the suit, Adam informed me that through wage garnishment and other court appointed methods, it could take years for me to see anything, and it would possibly come in very slowly. I was already out the money, and I preferred to see a lump sum, or larger payments that would actually make a difference coming into my account. He was able to negotiate a very nice, short payment plan with large monthly payments coming in to me from the defendants. He also had the forethought to include a clause providing an effective double judgement if they default even one day on a payment. I have already received my first money order (no checks, deadbeats!!) thanks to Mr. Ellis and his hard work. Throughout the entire process, he was very efficient, timely, and professional. He actually had to wait on me! I was kept informed and he even sent me a link so that I could check on the status of my case online. I will not hesitate to call on Mr. Ellis for ALL of my future attorney needs. I could not give a higher recommendation in regards to his performance, tenacity, and the favorable outcome to my situation. THANKS ADAM!!!

Horrible experience with Mr. Strolla. He took my case never informing me that I had court dates, one I was required to be at and could have ended with me having a bench warrant. He pleaded for me based on a misinterpreted text message. I consistently asked to meet him in person and was ignored. When asking about my case, ignored, when I finally said I may need to hire a different attorney, he immediately answered and said let me know and i'll sign the paperwork. $5,000 completely wasted I would have been better off with a public defender and they would have cared more. Worst experience of my life and the worst part he was referred to me .... he is a great talker in the beginning and then never follows through...
Going to court is scary and you want an attorney that has your back and fights for you, not one that takes your money and ignores you.
