I was very reluctant to hire a bankruptcy attorney, for a few reasons. First, there's a service in the internet that takes you through the whole process for free (although you do the filing yourself). Second, too many "attorneys" out there. Well, the best decision I've made lately was to hire Stephen. He's very knowledgeable and supportive, and (very important!) ALWAYS replies back in a timely manner. And his fee ended up being more than fair for the peace of mind I had through the whole process. Well, I got discharged! Thanks Stephen!

I engaged Mr. Orchard's services initially because I received a court document naming me as a defendant in a foreclosure action. Having no idea that I was attached to the property, I needed a local attorney's help, as I live in a different state.
Mr. Orchard patiently explained the legal meaning of the documents to me (actually more than once). Further, in assessing the implications of the documents and their impact on me, I had to share very personal and emotional family issues of estrangement and family wounds.
Previously, I hired a PI to assist with the family issues, but he turned out to be a scammer. I hired a different atty years before for the family issue, who provided bum advice, blew through the retainer, and said that was all he could do. I contacted the sheriff's office, who said there was nothing they could do. I was ready to surrender.
Long story short, Mr. Orchard was able to assist in discovering the familial information I was seeking and absolutely needed (and failed to obtain), and continued to work patiently with me to educate and coach me on the legal recourse I had with respect to the foreclosure. Additionally, I found him to be extremely fair and reasonable regarding the retainer I paid and the manner in which it was used.
His services began in April, 2021, and effectively ended in August 2022. Throughout this time, Steve communicated with me regularly, kept me informed regarding actions taken and actions needed, and represented me in an honest and dependable manner. In fact, I trusted him completely, and felt he always acted in my best interest.
In reality, he went out of his way to ensure I received the surplus funds I deserved from the foreclosure. Plus, he did all of this work over a 16-month period ON A CONTIGENCY BASIS! He even consulted with other attorneys that specialized in a completely different area of law (that was a factor in the claim) in order to ensure he was advising me correctly.
I would not hesitate to hire Mr. Orchard again, and you shouldn't either. If you are looking for an attorney that sees you instead of your money, I highly recommend Mr. Orchard. I found him and his lawfirm to provide excellent service, sound and helpful advice, and to have the best ethical integrity of any lawyer I've engaged!

I would recommend Frank Papa for your legal needs. I had filed my chapter 13 bankruptcy with him and once I had completed my bankruptcy my mortgage company tried to add some pre-bankruptcy fees to my account. I tried to handle it myself but was not getting anywhere with the company. I contacted Frank who handled my case and he went right to work settling this matter. He showed compassion, understanding and most of concerned I was going through this. He is very knowledgeable of the laws and fought for me the “little guy” to resolve this issue. I personally appreciate and I’m very thankful for all he did for me. Again I would recommend him highly.

No one plans for bankruptcy. It's not a goal or a benchmark in any plan. In my case, Covid caused a negative impact that I couldn't recover from. I lost everything.
I exhaustively searched for bankruptcy attorneys. Many, if not all, demanded thousands of dollars in fees with 50% down and 50% after filing. Along with the absorbent fees, there was a 100 page filing application and no help from their office or staff. Only the comment of "well that's the way it's been done for over 20 years".
I was both fortunate and blessed to have found Mike and Anna at Fresh Start. I was treated with dignity and compassion. At every step, Mike himself, as well as, his staff, were always available for questions.
In my case, Fresh Start offered a very reasonable and affordable repayment plan. Also, classes to re-establish my credit were made available.

Attorney Ozment and his staff were extremely helpful in guiding me through my Chapter 7 case. From the first meeting, I knew that I wanted his office to represent me. He outlined my options, explained everything about bankruptcy and filing simply and clearly, told me how much it would cost and payment options, helped me to understand the differences between the various chapters, and followed me through the process every step of the way. A week before my trustee meeting, his office scheduled an appointment for me to talk with Atty. Ozment by phone so he could explain the trustee meeting, how it would work, what questions I might be asked, and to go over information in my petition to make sure I understood all the details in the document. Jeff and his staff helped me with my chapter 7 bankruptcy case. I initially attempted to do the process on my own and failed at it. After looking into getting legal counsel I came across the Badgley Law Firm. The reviews were great and very informative. Upon my first consultation via phone I was offered an in person interview with Jeff which was a nice change because other firms wanted to do virtual meetings. I met with Jeff and he explained how things worked and reviewed my case. He was upfront with the process and cost and then said he would be able to assist me with my case. The first 341 creditors meeting had to be rescheduled and the second one was successful. I was able to be in the office for the meeting with Jeff right there in case I didn’t understand what the trustee was asking me. That helped me so much because I tend to get confused when doing the virtual meetings.
