Caitlin was very helpful assisting my wife and I in creating a trust. We were given a checklist of items to bring to the meeting and Caitlin did the rest. We then went over a simple draft which had minor corrections and the trust was created the same day. So glad I can sleep soundly at night knowing my wishes will be met when I pass. Francine went above and beyond in responding to our urgent need for intervention in a business crisis with a rogue associate. Because this turned out to be a specialty case with unique requirements, she spoke personally the very next day with a top colleague, who in turn cleared her schedule to meet with us ASAP. It would have taken days and probably weeks to get to see this second lawyer. We are forever in Francine's debt for the help she gave us.

She answered my Avvo query with respect and knowledge generously shared. She picked up on fact that it wasn't just about a $2600 fee paid - the acct blew a sol and an 80 year old lost $30K. Other attys answered as if "not worth any atty's time" bc money is so small. That seems like an stand for our legal system. I wish NC & USA had more attys like this fine lady.

I retained Caroline Tucker to represent me in a personal injury matter. My infant son and I were in a terrible car accident back in May 2011 and the driver at fault was not insured. I was looking everywhere for a lawyer to handle my case to evict a tenant. Luckily, I found Sep! I drove 2 hours to meet him to consult my case, and it was well worth my time. We won the eviction and was able to get my property back all in one piece. That’s not all, he went above and beyond to help me claim money back from the insurance to cover the costs and repairs. I’m happy that I’ve found a lawyer that truly has my back. Definitely would recommend him to anyone that needs an attorney!

I was just looking at my peer reviews on Avvo and thought I have to do one for Sep. I'm an attorney and Sep is actually my attorney. He first contacted me to be an expert witness on a foreclosure matter and after many conversations with him I hired him to represent me on a case. So far, he's represented me on two matters, and while litigation is not pleasant for the participants (not sure if it's worse or better when you yourself are an attorney) it was always a relief knowing Sep was my attorney. When people hire me and leave my office saying they feel a weight lifted from their shoulders that is the highest compliment. That is what I can say about Sep; that is exactly how I feel when I retain him. When he is handling your matter, your mind can be at peace as long as you do what he asks and trust him.

I was in urgent need of an attorney to file a summons and complaint on my behalf in order for me to receive some unclaimed funds that I was entitled to being held in the Superior Court of Contra Costa County. Paul was referred to me by a friend. I contacted Paul, he was on vacation but still handled my case that I consider over and above the call of duty. We communicated telephonically, by email and by fax and my lawsuit was submitted on time.. I left the country for a month and Paul continued to act on my behalf with the Court. When I returned Paul had it all in place for me to sign a Release and to receive the entire amount of unclaimed funds that I was entitled to. I highly recommend Paul. He is knowledgeable, dependable and cost effective.

I gave Julia a 5 star review in 2012 after she stepped in and corrected the many errors in my parents’ estate plan that resulted from one of the “free lunch” seminars that are held in the desert. She has continued to provide 5 star service every step of the way...from my mother’s death, property sales, a remarriage, and finally wrapping up my parents’ estate after my father’s death. Julia’s extensive expertise in the law, taxes and real estate means you don’t need to involve multiple professionals—she can deal with just about any issue that comes up in a professional and timely manner. My only regret is I no longer live in California, so I must find a new attorney. They will have big shoes to fill!

Julia assisted my sister and I with our fathers probate down in California. We had previously been working with another attorney that literally did nothing for us. He dragged his feet and never even so much as present simple paperwork to the courts after 6 months of employing him as our representation. We promptly parted ways with that attorney and were directed to Julia. I can tell you that the work she did for us was a breath of fresh air. She was extremely prompt in all of her responses and thorough in her communication. She went to bat for us in court to try to get things sped along as the previous attorney had left us in a tight bind and delayed the probate closing by 6 months. I'am not an attorney but I do have a great background in client services and I can speak for my sister and myself by saying that Julia was a delight to work with and left both of us with a sense of ease knowing that she was getting everything done for us. Some months now after finalizing my divorce I truly realize the expert care I was in with Ms. Baltazar. After interviewing a number of lawyers at the onset, I selected Ms. Baltazar for her professionalism, depth of legal knowledge, and caring manner. I felt then that she had the combination of attributes that would get me through this difficult time. Throughout she was persistent in representing my interest, clearly explaining current and prospective actions needed to arrive at the best outcome for me. She was always careful to fully explain what the law said on key matters and how it was interpreted by the courts. Ms. Baltazar had the ability to take jumbled information, as I'm sure I sometimes babbled on, picking out the salient points and repeating key information back to ensure she had a firm grasp of my responses. She also had the ability and patience to simplify and present legalese in an easy to understand manner so that i could fully consider it. Since mine was a marriage of long duration, she understood how fearful I was of the financial aspects of the divorce, painstakingly explaining each option for settlement. She effectively dealt with opposing counsel, firmly pushing forward through unexpected delays. I always felt that she was firmly committed to working with me and for my best interest. I was involved in a spousal support issue/tax matter with my ex-wife. Ms. Baltazar not only provided excellent advise in the spousal support area, but actually found a case ruling in the tax matter which defended my position and which had been overlooked by my ex wife's attorneys. (And tax law is not even her primary area of practice.) This allowed us to arrange for an out of court settlement that was much to my advantage. Because of her gracious and professional manner she was very pleasant to work with.

Not happy with this law firm at all was in a serious motorcycle accident that wasn't my fault and this attorney is getting more money than I am. If I could do it over again I wouldn't use this guy did absolutley nothing for me nothing but taking money stay away.I don't have any idea who all these other people are being represented by but I didn't get anything like there help .Im disabled for life and he didn't help me at all .

Proud to say that I just became a US citizen last month thanks to Erika and her team!! 👏🏼👏🏼🥳 My experience having Erika Portillo and her team as my immigration attorney for the past 10 years has been phenomenal! From the very start of my case she has ALWAYS been upfront and honest with me about my case which made the whole process much less stressful for me. Erika will ALWAYS go above and beyond her expertise to help her clients as best as she can! I was able to petition my mother and she also just became a US Citizen two weeks ago! The only reason why I took the 10 years to apply for our citizenship was because I personally decided to wait until my Green card almost expired to apply for our Citizenship. I know I should have applied sooner but with three young children, my studies, and work, I got so busy in my “mom life” that I didn’t realize how fast time had gone by. The good thing is that as soon as Erika filed both my mother’s and my N-400 application in December, by February we had already received our appointment letter in the mail for our citizenship exam! After passing the exam, we received our Oath ceremony appointment for citizenship in the SF location just three months after! We are so happy and relieved that we no longer have to worry about our immigration status and most importantly that the process was smooth because we didn’t have to stress about receiving bad service or looking around for new attorneys because Erika took good care of us every step of the way. 🙏🏼 I mean this from the bottom of my heart because I’ve heard so many unfortunate situations of how difficult it is for our people to find a good lawyer who doesn’t charge them every time they show up to their office, or charge them tons of dollars upfront to take the case and then they take forever to respond or get a hold of. This is not the case with Erika Portillo! With that said, I will say that it’s 100% worth your time and money to schedule a consultation with Erika to see if you have a good case. She will not lie to you nor waste your time and money like some attorney tend to. I actually just referred her services to a friend of mine who was asking for an immigration attorney for her brother in law. So I’m confident that if her family takes my referral, they will be in good hands. *FYI: Both Erika and her front desk receptionists are all Spanish and English speaking so communicating with them and getting answers about your case is very easy as well. They were always ready to assist us with a nice smile on their faces. What I love the most about having Erika as an immigration attorney is that she continues to educate herself. I had a case where I was electrocuted and for 10months VZ worked on my case of course looking to take care of me appropriately based on the nature of the case. Once they found out I was on probation for a crime I had not committed but got railroaded, they first said we can’t represent you because of the nature of your case. I was like, WHAT? We have a working case and now 10months later the partners decide they don’t want to represent me anymore because of my probation???? What the heck does that even have to do with me getting what’s owed to me because I was electrocuted? They gave me some pocket change and took there money like I was an old appliance. Now I could have said no I’ll try and find another law firm but law firms don’t like to take cases that other law firms backed up on. I don’t recommend this law firm to anyone. Especially if you have a record. 0 stars

I received a letter from Mr. Underwood's office informing me that, "the government is moving forward with plans to acquire (my) property(ies)." Imagine my dismay! His letter was the first I had heard of it. I consulted with Mr. Underwood, whom informed me he had no knowledge if this information was current or correct. With hours of research, I have discovered the information he sent me was not correct. I am not sure of his motivation to propagate incorrect information, but be warned.
